This story delves into the complexities of love and loss. Emma Wheeler, a talented writer burdened by her past, finds herself unexpectedly drawn into the world of Hollywood. As she collaborates with the renowned screenwriter Charlie Yates, their professional partnership grows into something more. Art imitates life when the screenplay they are collaborating on mirrors their own romantic journey.
This story shows an honest portrayal of grief and the challenges of caring for a loved one with illness. Emma's journey is both inspiring and relatable, as she navigates her own desires and responsibilities. She could be a little frustrating at times, but aren't we all?
The last 10% of the book got a little too cheeseball for me, but overall, I really liked the story!
Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC to review! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I devoured this book. A grumpy MMC will always be my kryptonite and Charlie did not disappoint. I also love a romance that includes so much emotion and isn’t just all sunshine and rainbows and that’s exactly what The Rom-Commers was. Already can’t wait for Katherine’s next book!

The banter and humor were spot on, and was balanced so well with depth and rawness. I just loved it.
I adored Emma’s family, and how supportive they were of her. I loved how both of them were pulled and stretched in different directions, but they managed to make it out on top in the end. They rose above.
Charlie and Emma are polar opposites that complement each other perfectly. I love the writing team they make, the bond they form, and the love they share. Charlie & Emma were so fun and to follow their story. Their happily ever after was well deserved. Emma & Charlie are perfect together.

Katherine Center has firmly cemented herself on my must-read list. Her romances are everything you want from the genre but elevated. The Rom-Commers was no exception. It was a smart and funny enemies to friends to lovers romance and one of my favorite books of the year. Emma and Charlie are fantastic together - their chemistry is palpable. The dialogue is sharp and witty, and the pacing is perfect. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Katherine Center is one of my fave authors and definitely an auto-buy author for me. Within the first 2 chapters, I was already alll the way in and wanted to give the book a hug already. Center writes characters that are so real and characters you definitely root for. I feel like she's the queen of realistic romance (realistic fiction + romance) :) Our main character, Emma, has been a caregiver for her father who has a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). I thought the TBI representation was great and we also get a sense of what caregiving can look like, especially for young adults caring for a parent. I'm not sure I LOVED Charlie, to be honest, but I loved how Emma put herself out there and SHE loved Charlie. I'm always so happy to pick up Center's books but then immediately sad that it's over. This was excellent in print and on audio!

More like a 3.5. I enjoyed this a bit. A nice fluffy romance, but it wasn't the most interesting couple.

Katherine Center is known for writing feel-good, uplifting novels that blend humor with heartfelt moments, and her latest work, The Rom-Commers, continues this tradition with its signature charm and wit. A delightful, yet thoughtful exploration of the world of romantic comedies, the novel delivers a story that is both heartwarming and honest, offering readers a fun and emotionally resonant experience.

I absolutely loved this! Katherine center just has a special way of making me feel every emotion her characters feel and I loved every second of watching the two main characters in this grow, hate & love!

Katherine Center is one of the best when it comes to writing such relatable and loveable characters with a sweet romance and storyline that is full of emotion. Her books will have you laughing out loud one moment, and tearing up the next.
The Rom-Commers was one of my most anticipated reads this year, and I loved it!
Emma Wheeler is a romantic comedy enthusiast who knows all about what makes a great rom-com. She’s been writing romance stories for years, and had dreams of becoming a screenwriter, but put her desires on hold to care for her dad who needs around the clock care.
When the stars align, and she’s asked by a friend who represents famous screenwriter Charlie Yates, to be his ghost writer, Emma decides to take the chance of a lifetime to help fix the story Charlie has written, and bring on the next romantic comedy together.
The only catch is that she must go out of her comfort zone, and travel to LA for the next six weeks to live and work close to Charlie.
Filled with such fun banter, great chemistry, well developed characters, and an emotional storyline that gripped me right away, I couldn’t help but fall in love with The Rom-Commers.

🎧I paired the book with the audiobook, and loved the narration by Patti Murin, who captures the emotions so well. I’ve come to know her voice and performance from a few of Katherine’s previous books, and was delighted to see her narrate The Rom-Commers as well.
*many thanks to St Martin’s Press and Macmillan Audio for the gifted copy for review

I loved this! It was delightfully funny. I love that this is a CLEAN romance. The celebrity/screen writer trope was fantastic, and it gave me "Notting Hill" vibes. This was another hit by Melissa Ferguson!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to be able to read and review this book!
One of the best summer reads!

I originally got this book as an arc earlier this year but I did not have the time to read it and give it a review, Earlier this month I listened to the audiobook and I am so happy that I read it. I absolutely love anything Katherine Center writes and this was no exception. I loved the dynamic between Charlie and Emma.

I’ve always enjoyed Katherine Center’s books and this was no exception. It always feels like you’re hearing the story from a friend; that’s how connected you feel to her characters. I really like how real this book felt.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the advance electronic galley of this title in exchange for an honest review.
Emma longs to be a screenwriter. She writes, and has even won awards, but she rarely leaves home. The main focus of her life is her father, who was injured in an accident which killed her mother. So when an old friend offers her what appears to be the job opportunity of a lifetime, she hesitates. But when her sister agrees to take care of their father while she's gone, she packs her bags and heads for the West coast.
Things there are not quite as her friend described. Yes, the screenwriter who needs help writing a rom-com is her favorite writer all time. But he wasn't expecting her, and he doesn't want help.
To stick it out or hop the next flight home with her tail between her legs? Can she ever forgive her friend? And will the screenplay ever be written?
This is the first title I have read by this author, and it definitely won't be the last!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am so behind on my reviews! I read this one pre publish date and missed it! I am a huge Katherine Center fan, she makes such heartwarming and fun books. I couldn’t stop smiling while reading this one!
Emma has always wanted to be a screenwriter. She’s been obsessed with romantic comedies, and she’s good at writing them. However she has had to be the full time caretaker of her father, so leaving him to try her full time job elsewhere never worked out.
When an opportunity to write for her rewrite for her favorite writer Charlie Yates her family makes sure she takes the chance. Off to L.A to make her dreams come true, Emma realizes maybe meeting your hero is too good to be true. Charlie doesn’t even care about this screen play it’s just a means to get his other green lit. He think love is nonsense and rom-coms are utterly pointless. Emma isn’t going down without a fight, she will prove to Charlie that rom-coms mean something and so does love.
Katherine does it again, this book was so good! I loved the banter between Emma and Charlie. I loved Emma’s family and home life so much. This book was one I read as an e-arc and had to have a physical copy! If you haven’t already read this one definitely go out and get it!

I thought this book was so much fun. From the beginning the humor really caught my attention because it was smart funny and not just in your face or crude funny. I loved how we got to know the characters and their quirks as the book went in
I enjoyed how it was about screenwriting, which is something different from other books I've read. Overall I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Katherine Center’s *Rom-Coms* are an absolute delight! Her writing effortlessly blends heartwarming romance with a deep sense of personal growth, making each story not only fun but also deeply relatable. The characters are wonderfully complex and full of life, with a perfect mix of humor and vulnerability. What I especially love is how Center tackles real-life challenges—loss, self-discovery, and the messy, beautiful process of love—without losing the lightheartedness that makes her books such a joy to read. If you’re looking for a feel-good escape with emotional depth, Katherine Center’s rom-coms are a must-read. They leave you with a smile, a little hope, and a renewed sense of possibility.

I really enjoy Center's romance books. She is great at building chemistry and friction between the to main characters. This was a joy to read.

Katherine Center sold me with The Bodyguard, gave me a warm hug with Hello Stranger, and made me laugh and cry with The Rom-Commers. Emma and Charlie had the banter and the chemistry that made me smile while reading. I loved how their friendship developed throughout the book and she about made my heart drop at the ending, but in true Katherine Center fashion, I left this experience swooning. I loved this book ❤️
