I can pick up any Nora Roberts book and know it will be good. My all time favorite author does it again in this novel.
I fell in love with Lucy immediately. It reminded me of visits to my own grandmother in Maine. Nora's realistic writing and ability to evoke emotion make for the best scenes. At first it is warm like a family hug and you are smiling right along with the kids and grandma. I love that she was also a Momma Bear when it came to the kids. She fought for them out of love and it was a beautiful thing.
Then it turns to fear as the story unfolds for Mom and Dad and the killer who paints a target on a couple without even realizing that he has it all wrong about them.
Lucy and Thea have a gift. I love that this special gift is the key to justice. I love that it unites a family and heals them.
I loved how strong Thea is. She could fight in mind and develop herself to fight with her body as well. She is a great inspiration for girls and women.
I love Bunk too. He is such a light spot in the dark just like Bray. It is so nice to see a dog play a big role in a story. Everyone just loves him and he makes everyone so happy even with all that goes on in the book.
This book is unique. I love that Nora can create stories unlike any I have ever read and make them so hard to put down. The ending is a perfect way to bring the story to a close.

I just reviewed Mind Games by Nora Roberts. #NetGalley. I Received an ARC courtesy of the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review, thank you for the opportunity.
This book is not what I expected (in a good way or bad way I'm really not sure.) This is a really slow burn with lots of details. At times I felt like I was reading multiple novellas all wrapped into one. Did I enjoy it? Yes, yes I did. I loved the detailed life of living in Appalachia. I loved the unfolding of everyday life. BUT at times it was just choppy and awkward writing. There is EVIL, mind reading gifts, tragedy, love and loss, family, life building... A super interesting concept was Thea's grown up job. The creativity that went into that was so fascinating and really gave a unique spin on the story. 3.5 stars for me. Some parts I LOVED some parts meh.

I haven't read a Nora Roberts book I didn't love, and this one is no exception. As usual, we run the gamut of emotions from beginning to end, starting with a happy family that ends in violence. Through this trauma, though, Thea learns that she shares a "gift" with her grandmother that helps the police bring her parents' killer to justice. This leads to a connection between victim and killer that only gets more intense with time.
I loved the characters in this book so much. They were easy to relate to and made you really root for a happy ending. And the setting was written brilliantly, as well. You could practically smell the seasons changing in the Appalachian hills of Kentucky!
All in all, I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it.
5/5 stars.
*** I would like to thank NetGalley, St.. Martin's Press, and Nora Roberts for the opportunity to read and review Mind Games.

We took a long time to get going here. It took forever to get to adult Thea (which I get the importance of building her character but we really dragged out the family tragedy here) and we didn't even get to the romance angle for a really long time, to the point where I was wondering who it would even end up being. I'm also not sure I get how the whole psychic connection works with the killer and it just gets chalked up to being a mystery of the universe. I also feel like I keep seeing the same sort of phrasing/writing style in the last few books, which makes it feel even more recycled (and also reminds me that no one actually talks that way).
Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

"Mind Games" by Nora Roberts is a thrilling rollercoaster of suspense and romance. With intricate plot twists and dynamic characters, Roberts crafts a gripping tale of deception, danger, and unexpected love. The protagonist's psychic abilities add an intriguing layer to the story, keeping readers on the edge of their seats until the very end. It did get a little long but still a great read. Roberts' masterful storytelling makes "Mind Games" a must-read for fans of mystery and romance alike. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to this early.

I reviewed the audiobook ARC:
Thank you to NetGalley for the audio arc in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first Nora Roberts book. There were so many things about this book that I enjoyed, but I'm not sure if this is the author for me. I'm coming away from this book thinking that there are two different books going on at the same time. I enjoyed both, but the amount of time it took to set up the characters and get around to some action took forever. The way the book is described sounds like it's going to be a thriller with some sort of revenge and cat-and-mouse action. These promised fell flat for me. I did enjoy the characters and the romance aspect of the story, but the video game story line felt disconnected to me.
I absolutely love the narrator for the audiobook. January LaVoy has a gift for voicing male and female characters and children.

Nora Roberts is the master. I was kept guessing who the main male character would be. Thea was super capable. The connection with Ray Riggs was interesting and definitely made for good reading.

Mind Games was a really good read. The storyline had ways to keep you intrigued and wanting more. There were all types of emotions. I cried during part of the book. Thea and Rem were put through a lot as kids, but it was nice to see that just because bad things happen as a kid that you don't have to become a criminal or cruel adult. Would definitely recommend the book.

First, thanks for Net Galley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
It took me a while to get into this book, which I never found with any other Nora Robert's books I have read but once I did I couldn't stop reading it, I could actually picture myself in the some of the settings she described. I loved how she developed the characters and the relationship between them. Thea, Lucy and Rem were wonderful and the Appalachian setting was perfect. Bray and Bunk were just so cute and adorable..

This was fantastic. I really enjoyed reading it and didn’t want to put it down. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Nora Robert’s does it again. I love her books! If you enjoy a thriller with a bit of fantasy and romance you will enjoy this book.. The book at its core is all about family.
Thank you #NetGalley, #StMartinPress, #NoraRoberts, and #MindGames for the advance audio version for my honest review.

In "Mind Games" by Nora Roberts, twelve-year-old Thea and her grandmother Lucy share a special connection that allows them to see into minds and souls. When they both awaken from the same nightmare, they realize something terrible has happened. The children will stay with Grammie in Redbud Hollow, and thanks to Thea's vision, their parents' killer will be brought to justice. However, Thea's ability to see into the minds of others becomes a curse when she discovers that the killer, now in supermax, shares the same ability. As Thea builds her life, the silent battle between them intensifies, eventually leading to a confrontation that will test her strength and resilience.

I really thought I knew how this book was going to end and I was completely wrong. Great story, amazing characters, beautiful setting. I want to be Lucy when I grow up or at least live next door to her! Mind Games is everything I love about a Nora Roberts book and more.

What if you could see into someone’s mind and know what they are thinking, or doing, or what is going to happen before it does? All the women in Thea’s family have this gift. But for Thea this gift can also be a curse.
I really liked how Nora Roberts portrayed the antagonist and pitted him against Thea. I could feel the evil emanating off of him. I loved how strong the bonds of family and friends surrounded Thea, more than she realized.
Evil can come at you from anywhere, but when it plays with your mind it is not a game.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and St. Martins Press. These comments and review are my honest opinion.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review-
Every summer Thea and her brother go stay with grandma for two weeks. The first night grandma and
Thea have a nightmare that really happened. Their parents were murdered. Each girl in the family has the sight - is that a curse or a blessing? The killer also has the site so at times there is a war of mind games between him and Thea. Who will win these?
Ty moves there with his son and a sweet romance begins with Thea. Can they make it work? Who will win the mind game Thea or the inmate? Nora Robert’s always writes a great book!

A very interesting premise for a novel - a young girl with the gift of second sight witnesses her parents' brutal murder. The begins a lifelong pursuit between her and the killer, using their minds.
The setting and romance aspect of the story were very good and I loved the characters and how they interacted with one another.

Thanks to NetGalley for the arc!
The synopsis of this book sounded so good! A little bit of a thriller type story with romance. I did enjoy this book, towards the end, it sort of lost my attention some, but otherwise it was very interesting. Kept a fairly quick pace and besides the end losing me some, it kept my attention wanting to know more! Overall, this was a pretty quick and easy read. Although it may not have been a hands down favorite book, it was good and I would recommend!

I loved this book! I loved the story elements and the storyline. I loved the characters, they had depth and character growth. The villian got his just deserts. The story was fabulous!

3.75 Stars ✨
Well, I need to start this off by saying that I am a HUGE fan of anything that Nora Roberts writes. Whether it is as Ms. Roberts or J.D. Robb - I love everything. This is probably the first time that I can remember, NOT being blown away by one of her books and that honestly just kind of makes me sad. I know, I know, she has written HUNDREDS of books and not every one is going to be great, but I was really looking forward to reading this ARC and well, maybe my expectations were too high.
With that being said, the book was still okay. I really loved the storyline - it was different and intriguing. The problem comes in the fact that we get bogged down in so much of the every day minutia. We meet the FMC - Thea Fox - when she is 12 years old and the first half of the book goes into huge detail about her life. Yes, there are some traumatic events that occur and yes, that part of the book is hard to put down. But then, we spend A LOT of time following Thea as she grows up.
The hook in this book is the fact that Thea has a unique gift, a psychic gift that has been passed down through the maternal line of her family. Where things get interesting is when it is discovered that the man who killed her parents also has a gift and somehow the two of them open a connection. THAT is interesting.
But then we do not meet the MMC - not going to mention his name....because.... - until the latter part of the book, well over halfway. Yes, the family aspect of this book is wonderful. Grammie and Rem are strong and wonderful characters full of depth (because SO much time is spent developing them) but the story tends to lag in the middle and it FEELS longer than it is.
Then, there is an event between the FMC and the MMC near the end of the book that felt WAY to out of character. I just could not buy the reaction of the MMC to the actions of Thea. It didn't make sense. Talk about blowing something out of proportion......
So, yes, I enjoyed this book but it is not one of my favorites. The storyline is resolved and there is a HEA, but even that too felt abrupt.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. The opinions above are mine and mine alone.

Thea has inherited the family gift of second sight. Sadly she is able to watch her parents murder but ultimately is able to identify him and aid in his capture. He, however, has a similar gift. They can see into each other’s minds. Can Thea break free before he breaks her?
An entertaining novel, 3.5 stars for me only because so much of the book is about Thea’s childhood and Ty, the romantic character, isn’t even introduced until the last half of the book.
