Once again, I was amazed and thrilled with Robert’s writing. Roberts never disappoints and I always find myself immersed with her characters and the plotline. I would highly recommend this book, especially if you like romantic suspense with a little paranormal thrown in. Twelve-year old Thea has a gift that she can she into the minds of others. Thea and her brother Rem are vacationing for two weeks with their grandmother and their parents are staying home to have some time together. One night during these two weeks Thea wakes up from a vision in which she sees her parents murdered in their house. Thea tries to remember everything that she saw in her vision to help capture the man who killed her parents. You will find Thea fascinating, strong and a very complex character especially when you see her grow from a teenager to an adult. Pick it up and start to read because you won’t want to put it down. Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for providing an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Once again, Mrs. Roberts hits it out of the park. I love that I can always enjoy her books, without having to stress about if i'll like it or if I'll understand the twist. I highly enjoy everything she puts out, knowing i'll get a happy ending and a nice little thrill along the way.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book.

Nora Roberts always knocks it out of the park, and this book is no exception. Thea has a gift of sight that comes down through the women in her family. This gift allows her to witness her parents' murder and help capture the man who did it. As she grows up, she realizes she and the killer have a twisted connection.

I love the mix of rich characters, driving plotlines, and suspense that roll through this novel. Add in a little romance and it's a formula that works well and doesn't feel stale. Ths is another hit. If you like Nora Roberts, you'll love it.

Nora Roberts has been a reliable favorite for many years. She is the Queen of romantic suspense but her best novels give you "more." This book is one of her better ones in recent years. It has drama, mystery, romance, is layered with the supernatural, and has a darker feel than some may expect. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a review copy.

This is the not the novel I expected from Nora Roberts – it is so much more! Downright frightening at times, Mind Games is a treat to read, and Thea is a character whose future adventures I would look forward to reading. I received an ARC from NetGalley, and the opinions expressed are my own.

Oh what an amazing story! Love the plot line layers that make you stop everything you are supposed to be doing, to read it. Love the touch of the supernatural! The right amount of every theme for me - mystery, romance and adventure. Great characters- strong female lead! This will be easy to promote.

Solid Nora Roberts! Formulaic but I loved Thea and her family. And the pup. Always love the pup. Interesting use of fantasy in the novel as well!

Mein Leseerlebnis

This was the best Nora Roberts book I’ve read, and you know she has a number of great books to stack against for comparison. I’ve never been a fan of romance novels, but she always manages to weave just enough romance into the magic and thrills and drama to make that perfect mix.

I loved all the characters, especially Thea and Lucy. Their characters and the Kentucky countryside setting makes me want to move into the woods and start canning my garden veggies and raising chickens. Thea and her brother Rem were such survivors, and I felt myself being proud of how well adjusted and successful they became after having their family ripped away in a horrible tragedy. It was just so easy to feel for all the characters, they were written in such a well rounded and complete way.

I feel like I don’t want to talk deeply about the storyline (you can read the synopsis!) without giving away any spoilers. It was just a really lovely book and I can’t wait to share it with others when it’s available to purchase!

Thank you so much to Nora Roberts,St Martins Press and NetGalley for the advance to read.

Have always been a Nora Roberts fan, and this book is no exception. Great character development, yes a little bit of the "unbelievable", but that is the magic of her books. Story moved along at the appropriate rate....not too slow, and told the story well.

I enjoy a Nora Roberts book now and then…but the writing in this particular novel was less than stellar (a bit too cutesy for my taste). Enjoyed the story though.

I am so happy every time I get an opportunity to read a Nora Robert's book early! This one seemed a little different than what I've come to expect from the Nora standalone books. About the first quarter of the book was spent on the past and what happened to make the main character the way she is in the current day. I felt like this really added to the overall story, though it obviously took longer to get to the romance part. And then when we got there it was perfect - I love a single parent romance! And overall the psychic element in this book was very intriguing. I'll be recommending, as always!

Pre-reading - Ooh, a new Nora Roberts novel goes straight to the top of my TBR list.

During reading / post reading - Nora Roberts has a specific style and this one is so reminiscent of her earlier suspenseful romance that I found it to be penultimate NR. With Mind Games, Roberts reminds readers of why she is the forever goddess of consistently creating engaging and well written stories.

Parts of the plot brought to mind Doctor Sleep as well as the Bill Hodges Trilogy, both by Stephen King. This doesn’t not work - but you will need to employ your ability to suspend reality.

This new book is one I zipped through over a weekend, and is a fantastically enjoyable new title - one I can happily recommend.

An intriguing romantic suspense novel from one of the most prolific authors!

Thea Fox and her grandmother, Lucy, have a gift...the ability to see inside others' minds. When Thea's parents are brutally murdered, both Thea and Lucy are able to 'see' the grisly details and Thea is able to help police find Ray, the murderer. However, Ray also has the gift of sight and so begins years of cat-and-mouse between the two as they test the bounds of their connection. Thea wants to ensure that Ray is kept behind bars and Ray is determined to kill Thea.

In the midst of this storyline, Thea grows up and is living in the small town near Lucy. The man who moves in next door is quite literally her teenage crush and comes with an adorable son and some baggage of his own. I loved seeing the relationship develop between Thea to Ty and Bray. However, my absolute favorite was the dynamic between Lucy and Thea. Lucy was such a powerful character with plenty of pearls of wisdom.

I just finished reading Nora Roberts' latest novel, Mind Games, and I must say, it was an amazing! The way she blends together romance, suspense, and mysticism is exceptional. I found myself completely engrossed in the story from the very first page and couldn't put it down until the very end. Nora Roberts has once again proven herself to be a master storyteller, and Mind Games is a must read for anyone who loves a gripping, well-crafted novels! The pacing was lightning fast, and because of that, I flew through this book! Mind Games is a 5+++ novel, so darn incredible!

My Thoughts

If someone would ask me which Authors’ works that I have read the longest and still eagerly anticipate reading the answer is Nora Roberts.

A story like this one brings readers through a myriad range of emotions as it unfolds.

For me those emotions cemented my awareness of just how much a persons’ perception of others is based on personal appearance.

In the case of the man who murdered Thea and Rems parents he only saw two people who had what he wanted, so he took it violently making orphans out of them.

After their parents’ death 12-year-old Thea and 10-year-old Rem grow up in the care of their beloved Grammie Lucy and in doing so turn out to be well adjusted adults.

The only kink in Theas’ life is her unwanted mental connection to her parents’ murderer.
A connection that over 16 years takes a toll on both of them.

Mind Game is a story with characters one would enjoy meeting and spending time with, settings both beautiful and awful, a conflict that is both disturbing and for me not something I personally believe in but its use works in this fictional setting.

I felt satisfied with each step the author set up to resolve things for Thea at books end.

Thanks to the publisher, Netgalley and their teams for the chance to read this, at times, mind-bending book.

Who doesn’t love to read Nora Roberts? Over the year, she has always been a go to author for me. This one is different from the others she has written. They are all good, don’t get me wrong! The connection to the characters and my inability to put this one down! I highly recommend this book! Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for my copy in exchange for my honest review.

Nora Robert's is an instant read for me. I love her work and how she spins a story. Mind Games was very unique. I felt all the emotions from this one book. Different from her other books, but still so good!! I highly recommend this book.

Nora Roberts for the thrill! This book at its very core is about love, love given by friends, family and ultimately the love you give yourself permission to receive. However, how Thea goes through the process of discovering the love is a painful mind game. Thea and her younger brother Rem spend two weeks with their Grammie in Redbud Hollow every summer. However, this summer a terrible tragedy unfolds right before Thea’s eyes. Her parents are murdered back in Virginia and Thea is a witness although not physically present, she can ”see” the crime unfold in real time in her mind. She comes from a long line of psychics; her own Mother had the ability but didn’t want it. Her Grammie is there is help guide her through the process of grieving and healing. Her gift allows Thea to give details to the police to help catch the killer, Ray Riggs. He also is a psychic although not as talented as Thea, he is able to manipulate people and “see” things. He swears he saw Thea the night of the crime and blames her for his prison sentence. Will Thea be able to free herself of Ray Riggs, will she be able to live the life her parents wanted for their children?

This is another wonderfully delivered story by Nora Roberts. If you have read her previous books, you will enjoy this story as well. I wasn’t sure what the title meant when reading the first few chapters. However, it was finally revealed and as a reader, I can’t imagine the fear such a mind game would cause. The setting in Kentucky is beautifully set, you can imagine the rolling hills and way of life. The characters are developed well, so the family and friends are a vital part of the story. Overall, if you enjoy a story about being in a community that supports you, even if you are different, about overcoming challenging situations and ultimately about the love you give yourself permission to receive, along with some scary psychic abilities, then you will enjoy this story.

Mind Games is a bit romance, bit mystery, and a bit thriller with a dash of paranormal thrown in to add to some spice. Thea and her brother Rem spend two weeks every summer with their grandmother - a time Thea especially loves. But this summer everything changes. Thea and her grandmother share a gift, and that gift wakes them after witnessing the brutal killing of Thea's parents in a nightmare they both shared. While the man is caught, thanks to Thea, the nightmare isn't over.

Wonderful character development. I want to give a spoiler for my favorite character - which isn't the love interest - who as other reviewers have said wasn't who we expected at first. As you come to expect from Roberts, a solid and enjoyable read.
