Wow, this book was amazing! Nora Roberts really hit it out of the park on this one. It was unlike anything I have read in a while. It did start a bit slow for me but it really picked up and once it did I couldn't put the book down. I really liked all the characters in the book and really connected with them except Ray Riggs. He was just terrible and vicious. This book had a little bit of romance, suspense, and thrills which really worked. Nora's writing style really draws you into the book and this book is no exception. Another aspect of the book I really liked is the timeline. We get a glimpse of everyone at the beginning of the book when everyone is younger, then get to see their lives over 15 years later and everything in between. Overall, I would highly recommend this book. You won't regret it!

Mind Games starts off with Thea and her brother Rem going to their grandma's house in Eastern Kentucky for part of their summer. It's their favorite 2 weeks of the year. Their parents dropped them off and went back home to Virginia. One night, Thea see's her parents get murderer in their home. Her grandma Lucy saw something like that too. It appears they both have this gift. Both Thea and Rem will be staying in Kentucky with their grandma where they will live now. Thea was able to use her gift to put the man that killer her parents in prison but she finds out quickly that he has the same gift as her. He had been using it for bad things. The rest of the book explores their connection that Thea desperately wants to sever. Thea also meets Tyler and his son Bray along the way which changed her life for the better.

This book was good!

It was slow to start but once it got going I was really interested in it and didn’t want to put the book down. It’s a similar vibe to Carolina Moon. If you have read that book and liked it. You’ll really like this book.

The characters are great and you root for Thea, Rem, and Grandma Lucy the whole book. I want a grandma like grandma Lucy!

Definitely worth the read!

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Thea loved her family and was excited to Visit her grandmother. When she suffers a tragedy her grandmother helps her through it. It is an experience that she learns to live with. This was an enjoyable read and I cant wait to read her next one.

5 🌟 for Mind Games!
When a book makes you feel ALL the feels the way 'Mind Games' does, you know you're in for a wild ride! Gripping! Compelling! A rollar coaster of emotions and action packed in with a beautifully build world that draws you into the heart of this family. I had a driving NEED to find out what happens next! I've always loved the work Nora Roberts puts our and this book is no exception! This time she brought us to my own backyard of Kentucky and that just enhanced my enjoyment factor! A must read for romantic suspense lovers with a plot twist I was NOT expecting but completely appreciated!

Another gripping read by Nora Roberts! This one had parts that made me very sad, very anxious, and very happy for the main characters. I started out resenting the parts including video game creation, because I don’t play video games and didn’t want to take it up. I still won’t, but it worked in this story. I will encourage readers to keep reading. The clairvoyance of two characters is what made me anxious. It’s rare that my dreams are fed by what I read, but I woke up very uneasy after reading this! From beginning to end, a winner. Some individual sections were masterfully drawn to pull the reader right in. I think our Nora Roberts fans will be pleased with it.

This is the best book I’ve read in a long, long while. It’s given me a massive book hangover. It hasn’t left me. The book shredded my heart a few times. The villain is despicable. We follow Thea from being a 12 year old and having her parents brutally murdered, to a 28 year old who is an amazing person. There are so many wonderful characters. This book is soaked in turbulent emotions. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Wow!!! This book was amazing! The story begins when Thea, a 12 year old girl with a gift that helps her see into the minds of others, is spending the summer with her brother, Rem, and her Grammie, Lucy (who also has the gift). Thea sees something terrible happen to her parents and she wants to do everything she can to catch the man that is responsible.
The whole story is a work of art. There's a little mystery, a little thriller, some romance, and even some magic that will keep you hooked from the first chapter. I loved seeing the characters grow throughout the story and I loved seeing Thea do so much with her gift. This book is an absolute gem and I highly recommend you read it. Just do it!

Love, loss, and a psychic connection with a killer. These are the tenants of Thea Fox’s life from the age of 12 when her parents are killed and she sees it all. Not in person. Thea’s thousands of miles away for her yearly vacation with her grandmother. But in her mind. She watches as her parents are brutally murdered. From that moment on she has a psychic connection with their killer and, because of that, is able to identify him.

In prison for life, the killer now taunts Thea in her mind, playing twisted games with her until she learns how to block him. She grows up, graduates college, and even helps the police solve a few cases with her talent. Along the way she finds a love that promises to be everlasting.

But the killer is never far from her mind.

I hate spoilers so I won’t give any. Suffice it to say there is an epic battle that ends the book – and, in true NR style – it’s a whopper!

Like any Nora Roberts book, this one is more than a simple story. It’s everything a story should be and much more.

Thank you Netgalley and St Martin’s press for a sneak peek. I adored this story and wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

Suspenseful and intriguing are the words that come to mind for Nora Roberts new book. I loved the characters and the love of family. Hard at times to swallow the words of the villain - the cat and mouse games of the mind games. But they make for a good story. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC

I’ve been a huge Nora Roberts fan for years and this book did not disappoint. While is deals with a some different situations than I’ve come to expect, it was great. We follow the characters through more than a decade of life. We see them through highs and desperate lows as the years flow by. It’s a long book but somehow still leaves you wanting more. Great story. Great characters. Great spin on a coming of age/family drama/ love story.

I’m not sure what Nora Roberts book this is for me, but I love that after all these years, her stories still surprise and engage me and don’t feel like a retread of her previous work. The only downside is that if you start it, it’s extremely hard to put down and not just stay up all night reading.

Typically I love Nora Roberts books and I was excited to read this one. While I do think this is a great book that will appeal to many readers I struggled through this one. I do think it has a unique concept and I see the appeal to the story but for some reason I just didn't really connect with it and I don't quite know why. The characters are wonderful and I especially loved Lucy. I also loved that Thea's adult profession is a video game designer! How cool. This book delivers on suspense and has a completely unhinged and terrifying villain. I will say the love interest somewhat surprised me but in a good way as I had suspected it may be someone else but I'm happy with how it turned out.

I can always expect a thrill ride with a Nora Roberts book!! This one didn't fail me there!! What a page-turner!! Young Thea and her younger brother Rem loose their parents> They are murdered and young Thea is witness to it all, even though she is miles away with her brother for the summer at their favorite place! Grammie's in Kentucky! She watches them die and sees the man responsible, Riggs. She is able to led the police to him where he is captured and sent to prison. So begins the mind games between Thea and Riggs. For one it is a gift, for the other it is a curse, but they play the game over the years, until the final round, where only one can win! There are many turns and twists over the years, but the ending explodes with a bang. Well worth the time and highly recommend!!!

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced reader copy of this book.

This is my first Nora Roberts book, but after reading it, I can see why she is a household name. A little suspense, a little romance, and a strong cast of characters are at the heart of this novel. It’s hard to imagine that a book that starts with a gruesome double murder ends up evolving into a quaint love story set in Appalachia, but that’s exactly what happens in Mind Games. Add to that a main character who is able to see into others’ minds, and you’ve got yourself a pretty unique story.

I really enjoyed this book and found the story to be quick moving and engaging, with likable characters and a really strong family dynamic. Even though this was my first Nora Roberts book, I highly doubt it will be my last.

Ms Roberts never fails to meet my expectations, but, this one exceeds them! I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it considering the tragedy that is the basis of the story. Thea and Rem were a brother and sister who became closer due to the circumstances of having to move in with their Grammie (who they loved and was their champion and role model). Thea and Grammie had a lot in common with a lot of their female ancestors, even though it made some people uncomfortable and unbelievable. Thea had trouble trusting people and when her teenage crush moved in next door, she was both thrilled and scared. Ty had his own issues with trusting people, especially women. Will they be able to get over their issues? Hiw will the past affect their future? This was a page turner, couldn’t wait to see how it worked out but didn’t want it to end. A must read!

The first Nora Roberts book I ever read was "The Reef." I was home with the flu in high school, and my mom's best friend bought it for me to read. I didn't become a huge Nora Roberts fan until I graduated college; however, once I did I started to literally mark released on my calendar. May is always Nora Roberts month for me, the same as every year, I could not wait for "Mind Games" to be released this May. That is why I was super excited to get a chance to read this one early.

I can’t think of a Nora Roberts book that I haven’t enjoyed from beginning to end. This book was no exception. The entire storyline was just amazing. Thea actually has my husband’s dream job. You can tell that there was a huge amount of research done to get it right.

I have read nearly all of Nora Roberts’ books (I’m still working on the ones published in the 80s), and I can honestly say that this is the first one that actually made me cry. All in all, this was an amazing book, which is what I expected. I recommend it to all Suspense readers, regardless of it they like Romantic Suspense or not.

As one of my favorite authors I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could read her new upcoming book from NetGalley. By the end of the first chapter, I was hooked. Ms. Roberts books that have a psychic component I always love. The book has it all with characters that feel so real I couldn't stop reading. I had to know what happens next, the next page, the next chapter. Truly one book that defines the essence of Ms. Roberts as a great romantic suspense writer. If you haven't read Ms. Roberts this is a great place to start. I want to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read this digital galley. I received a copy of this book in return for an unbiased review. My opinion is my own and not influenced by anyone.

Imagine seeing into the mind of a killer, knowing his every move and helpless to prevent a murder? Unless ... you can. The premise of Mind Games lives up to its title!

Nora Roberts does it again with vivid characters who are vulnerable yet strong, broken yet resilient, revengeful yet tempered, and solid in their love of family. The killer is described pathetically, but his unhinged mind is devious, calculating and power hungry.

The paranormal theme is pretty cool, but my absolute favorite part is the tie-in to Thea's career and the world building that becomes both an enticement and trap for the killer.

Thea's close relationship with her grandmother Lucy and brother Rem, and the easy way they both tease and yet care deeply for each other made me misty-eyed especially after the horrific losses they experienced. The close-knit farm community also is such an idyllic setting, perfect for the healing the family needs. Side characters come and go, but they also help reveal the gift that Thea wields delicately and protectively.

Of course, I love that there's animals galore -- dogs, chickens, cows and even goats! And, a love interest who (squeeeal!) embodies every teenage girl's dream come to life.

The dark undertone of the killer lurking close by always haunts the pages, but just how Thea (well, NR's brilliant mind) conjures the "trap" is wicked good.

An entertaining read I highly recommend, high five! Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the ARC!
