A book cover with a pizza and a cat is a sure draw for me. I've enjoyed getting to know the cast of Quigley's Deep Dish Mysteries series, and her pet cat, Butterball, is a featured player in this very funny culinary cozy. The book opens with Delilah and Sonya in a dilapidated van, heading to cater a house party on Geneva Bay, WI's high-end shoreline. The party, a fundraiser for the Friends of the Library, harkens back to Geneva Bay's dubious past with a Prohibition Era theme. Costumes, food, cocktails, and live entertainment are all part of the festivities. To Delilah's dismay, the entertainer is Capone's mother. She still has feelings for the detective, and readers will share her frustration with his "come here, go away" behavior. Quigley has crafted a "closed circle mystery," a subgenre popularized in the Golden Age and similar to a locked room mystery. The crime occurs in a location from which there is no escape; the victim and the perpetrator are part of a closed setting, which limits the suspect list and increases the tension.
Crosscurrents of emotion are heightened. Delilah's first-person narrative, wry voice, and inner anxiety carry the reader through a puzzle that becomes a stay-up-all-night page-turner. The first major storm closes the mansion off from the outside world. The power goes out, and more than one guest dies. To top it off, Butterball is suspected of causing one of the deaths. This is not a one-time read; it's to be read again—first for the puzzle and then to savor Quigley's trifecta of pizza, Butterball, and romance. Recommended for book clubs and readers of all ages.
I received this ARC from NetGalley and St. Martin's Publishing in exchange for an unbiased review. Thank you for this opportunity.

Public Anchovy #1 is the latest in Mindy Quigley’s Deep Dish Mystery series which just keeps getting better. Delilah O’Leary owns a pizza place in a popular Wisconsin lakeside resort. Volume 3 introduces new complications into the life of the large cast of tight-knit characters in the series. It becomes an isolated closed-circle mystery when Deliah takes on a catering job at a 1920s themed party in a remote mansion. She can’t afford to turn down this job because tourist season is over and it’s not easy to keep a resort area restaurant running in a Wisconsin winter, but she soon has regrets. When a guest is murdered, there’s no way out and plenty of suspects. I was as baffled as Delilah and Detective Calvin Capone. This is a great read for fans of cozy mysteries –particularly food-themed ones. Public Anchovy #1 can be read as a stand-alone, but reading the previous two books in the series make it easier to understand the dynamics.
I received this Advanced Reader Copy of Public Anchovy #1 from St. Martin's Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Though this is book three in the series it is my first read of the Deep-Dish mystery series. I will be going back and reading the others in the series very soon.
Geneva Bay’s pizza chef Delilah O’Leary is doing a fundraiser at a swanky mansion the upper crust is attending. All is going well until a distraction is caused by a need to change the pizza recipe to accommodate dietary restrictions.
Chef O'Leary's cat stows away in a mixer box and so we're treated to its presence the whole story through. With cat like accuracy, we don't get much out of the cat as far as listening but when it's time to eat and shenanigans are to be found you know that cat is involved.
With a heavy storm happening and the generator not kicking on the lights not working lead to the atmosphere of suspense with a body found at the mansion where all the staff are trapped because it's unsafe to leave. A cat and mouse game as the suspense mounts and then another body is found. Kept me guessing right til the end as I wouldn't have suspected the suspect or the reason for it either.
I'm excited to try the gluten free pizza crust recipe for my daughter who has this food restriction. There are many recipes included, and I am going to try a few others as well. The descriptions of the foods sound so yummy. Looking forward to reading more in this series soon.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

I very much enjoyed this third book in the Deep Dish Mystery series by Mindy Quigly!
The characters are great, and the author has crafted an exciting and intriguing mystery. As pizza chef Delilah O’Leary is doing everything she can to make her pizza restaurant successful, she and her crew are hired to cater a Prohibition-themed event at an isolated mansion. A severe storm hits, trapping caterers and guests in the mansion...along with a dead body and a murderer.
I was kept guessing to the very end as to who the murderer was. I think this series will be around for a long time, and I'm looking forward to the next!
Be sure to have snacks on hand while reading, as I was hungry for pizza throughout the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read an advanced copy.

Each book I read gets better and better. Absolutely love this series and can I just say... FINALLY! If you know, you know. If you don't, start with book one and binge read.
I love Delilah and Capone. They are a great sleuthing duo. Delilah's crew is great too and adds the perfect taste to the story. This mystery was a fun one.
I am so thankful to the author and NetGalley for the review copy. On to the next installment!

A perfect weekend read that is light and easy. The story is predictable but perfect to relax with. As this is a part of a series, the thread of the main character's story runs through it. However, the book can be enjoyed as a standalone.

This was an awesome book! The plot was fun and the atmosphere was dark and moody. As always, the characters were well-written and felt real. The mystery kept me guessing until the very end. I cannot stress enough how interesting this book was, and how much I am looking forward the next one. This a great book in a series of other great books. This is a must read!

What should have been a fun and festive event turns into a dark and stormy night complete with a murder. Delilah and crew have been hired to cater the Friends of the Library’s Roaring 20’s fundraising event. Sounds like fun, right? Well then there is a storm and a request for an all vegan pizza with no gluten and no sugar and no tomatoes which makes it a “free from” pizza (free from anything that makes it a pizza). As the weather turns treacherous so does the situation for the rather unpleasant Edgar Clemmons who was on a mysterious mission regarding a wrong that needed to be righted. Funny thing about Edgar is that the only person who seemed to be able to tolerate and even enjoy his company was Sonya, Delilah’s BFF and business partner. Among the suspects is an international artist Count Leka Simeon Victor Hohenstaufen Chandon aka Jarka’s ex fiancé, the Count’s current fiancé, a pretentious and well off influencer, her trophy husband, and maybe even Capone’s mom, Lola Capone.
There is nothing like spending the night without power in a dark and slightly spooky house with a possible killer. As the catering crew and the “hoity-toity” guests hunker down, Delilah goes in search of Butterball the stowaway cat who causes some chaos. So she might be looking for clues at the same time, but hey you can’t blame a girl from wanting to clear the name of her beloved cat.
I do need to point out that this is not how Delilah wanted to meet Capone’s mom. Of course Delilah has a hard time determining if the man has feelings for her or not as he has a tendency to be in cop mode when they are together, which means walls go up and stoic/stone faced Capone comes out. In this instant though, the weather might have been cold but the heat between Delilah and Detective Capone is HOT. This is culinary cozy so it comes with an array of recipes included a very tasty recipe for tiramisu cookie bars that are easy to make and even easier to eat (the entire pan).

Rating: 3.5 stars rounded up
Delilah is back again - this time she’s being commissioned to create a “free-from” pizza recipe for a fundraiser. Free-from pizza? Well it’s basically free from everything fun and everything normally found in pizza. But Delilah is more than up for the challenge and tackles it head-on. Things go sideways though, when a dead body shows up at the big night. As the entire group is stuck together at the party’s location, Delilah can’t help to get involved and attempt to solve yet another murder.
I will admit that I received an ARC of the first book in this series and I never got around to reading it. However when the publisher was so kind as to send me book two, with an equally fun title, I knew I had to make it a priority and I’m so glad I did. And then I received book 3 and was even more jazzed. I will definitely go backwards and read book 1 at some point and continue on in the series as it progresses.
I think it’s important to note that this is a cozy mystery series and suspension of belief is important to enjoy these. The characters are eccentric, the crimes are wild, the likelihood of a cozy mystery actually happening is slim to none. And that’s part of what makes them so fun!!!
I thought this was a great third book. I loved getting to know more about the characters who will obviously be main players in books to come, we’re starting to see buds of romance, or at the very least potential romance. I love pizza. I mean, why wouldn’t you pick this book up?
Mindy comes up with creative plots to keep things interesting and I’m excited to see what the next book has in store for us.

It's been too long since I read this delightful cozy mystery, and if I remember correctly, also a rom-com. I moved from reading one book to another, and somehow posting reviews slipped by undone.

I tried to read the first book of this series and could not get through it. I listened for so long and it was taking forever to get to the mystery aspect. Since I couldn't finish that one, I won't be continuing with this one. I will also not give reviews on other sites for any of the books.

I love a good cozy mystery! One that incorporates all of my favorite topics (i.e. genealogy, bookstores, libraries, cooking, painting, inn keeping, animals, etc.), throwing in some action-suspense, a who-done-it, interesting characters, and a plot that keeps me guessing, then you’ve got me hooked. I will say, I am one of those people who like to read a series from the beginning, but I often find you don’t have to… either way I highly recommend reading Public Anchovy #1 by Mindy Quigley.
*I received a complimentary copy of this novel from NetGalley at my request and this review is my own unbiased opinion.*

More pizza shop cozy mysteries? Of course! I'll take it. It's not genre breaking, however, it is well written, snappy and a fun read. All ingredients needed for a good cozy. I would recommend to any fan of the genre. I stuck it on my rec shelf after reading it!
Thank you to St Martin's for the arc!

One of the things I love about this series is the recipes at the end of each book. They were in the story and then we get to see how the food is made.
This cute cozy is #3 in the deep dish series but easily read as a stand alone. It reminds me of a hallmark mystery series. A little sleuthing, a little romance and one of my favorite characters is the cat, Butterball. Delilah, Sonya and Calvin are likable characters and while not overly complex, the whodunnit kept me guessing.
This is definitely one of my favorite cozy series.

I loved Public Anchovy #1. It reminded me of clue. While catering a pary for the library fundraiser Delilah &son team finds them selves in their very own murder mystery being trapped in a excluded mansion with a murderer.
The plot was so much fun. I loved how it had elements of Agatha Christie, Clue, and the Shining. The best was when butterball was accidentally brought along to the party in a mixer box and started clawing guests as the walked by him and no one knew he was the cat doing it. This was definitely my favorite of the Deep Dish Mysteries. I couldn't put it down.

This is the third book in the series mastery series based around a pizza parlor set in Wisconsin. It was the first one I read, and can be read as a standalone. In this book Delilah and her team are catering a party at a prohibition-themed party..
This story has mystery, romance, and cats. Who can resist the cats. I would definitely read anothe book in this series.

This was such a fun cozy mystery. It took all the characters to a fundraiser at an isolated mansion and threw in a murder in a snowstorm, effectively trapping everyone, including the murderer, in the mansion. Locked-door mysteries are one of my favorite tropes, and this was done so well.

Mindly Quigley's Blic Anchovy #1 is a delightful addition to the Deep Dish Mystery series, serving up another mouthwatering tale of murder and mayhem in a Wisconsin pizzeria.
As Geneva Bay's elite prepare for a Prohibition-themed fundraiser, pizza chef Delilah O'Leary is focused on keeping her restaurant afloat during the slow winter season. But when a dead body crashes the party, Delilah finds herself in the midst of another thrilling mystery.
Quigley expertly blends humor, suspense, and culinary delights as Delilah and her hunky police detective friend, Calvin Capone, race to catch a killer. The story is filled with twists and turns that will keep readers guessing until the very end.
With its engaging characters, witty dialogue, and mouthwatering descriptions of pizza, Blic Anchovy #1 is a must-read for fans of cozy mysteries. Quigley's knack for storytelling shines through, making this book a perfect choice for a cozy night in with a slice of your favorite pie.

Thank you St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the eARC of Public Anchovy #1! All opinions in this review are my own.
Public Anchovy #1 is the third book in the Deep Dish Mystery series, but the second one that I have read. While I liked Ashes to Ashes, Crust to Crust, Public Anchovy #1 is easily my favorite in the series so far!
I am always a fan of closed circle mysteries so I already knew I was going to enjoy this one! I loved the setting in an old house during a bad storm and the havoc that Butterball the cat always creates in these books! I am already looking forward to the next installment in the Deep Dish series and can't recommend this cozy mystery enough!

While Geneva Bay’s upper crust gets ready to party down at a Prohibition-themed fundraiser, pizza chef Delilah O’Leary is focused on seeing her struggling restaurant through the winter slow season. The temperature outside is plummeting, but Delilah’s love life might finally be heating up, as hunky police detective Calvin Capone seems poised to (finally) make a move. But Delilah’s hopes of perfecting a new “free-from” pizza recipe for a charity bash are dashed when a dead body crashes the party. Soon, Capone, Delilah, and her entire staff are trapped in an isolated mansion and embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse. This a fun and clever cozy but be prepared to be hungry while you read it. Lots of fun food related stuff going on and it all sounds delicious!
