This is one of those soft, snowy romances that feels like wrapping up in a blanket. Rosie heads back to her small hometown for her sister’s New Year’s Eve wedding, fully planning to avoid her past… but instead, she walks straight into it. Asher—her childhood best friend and the boy she ghosted years ago—is still around, and their moms are basically matchmaking behind the scenes.

It’s sweet, it’s a little spicy, and it’s full of that “we have unfinished business” kind of tension. The dual timeline adds extra heart, showing how Rosie and Asher fell apart and why they might still be right for each other. Perfect for a cozy winter weekend read.

This book was written for you if:
1. You love a childhood friends-to-lovers arc with a snowy twist.
2. You’re into meddling moms who mean well but do too much.
3. You want a second-chance romance with all the holiday vibes.

Sadly this one wasn't my favorite in the series. I did love the steamy, slow burn friends to lovers, second (third?) chance romance, the main characters and the return of some of the past couples, however overall it was a bit of a mess for me in its execution.

The big meddling Latine family was fun as was Rosie's sister's holiday wedding but there was a multiple timelines to navigate, a lot of side plots, miscommunications, job complications and so much more.

It should be noted that this book also doesn't take place in the same timeline as the previous books but can be read as a standalone. While it was worth the wait to listen to this on audio, I found the narration well done but on the whole it was a tad too long for my tastes.

The author admits in the note at the end that she struggled with health issues while writing this book and edited it a lot (which is surprising since I thought it could have used more). It definitely reads as a work of love by the author who clearly felt a very close and personal connection to these characters.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review. While this one wasn't exactly for me, I have loved the other two books in the series and definitely recommend them!

I found Caroline Frank's "Second Chance Snowmance" cute and easy to read but flawed and frequently annoying if I'm being honest

Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie ich dieses Buch bewerten soll, da ich es aufgrund relativ kurzer Ausleihdauer (ohne Verlängerung) nicht lesen konnte.

Adorable sweet palette cleanser!
Thank you for providing me with the arc for this one. Definitely enjoyable but nothing to get excited over for me personally

First thought: Some books you know are going to be amazing after the first few chapters and this is one of those. I absolutely loved this book! The scheming mothers, the flashback giving you glimpse into the backstory and the chemistry is all perfect.

Rosie fell in love with her best friend, they had a plan for after HS. However a few drinks and dancing with Asher at their graduation party lead to a night together and declaring that both secretly loved each other. However things didn’t go as planned and the next morning Rosie’s parents found out her secret, that she wasn’t going to Berkley in the Fall to study business but rather FIDM in NYC for fashion design.

She got in an epic fight with her dad and basically was told if she chose NYC she needed to be out of the house by the end of day. So Rosie made a decision to pursue her dreams at all costs, unfortunately this also meant leaving Asher behind. And destroying not only their chance at love but their friendship.

9 years later and Rosie finds herself at the airport back home for the first time to spend the holidays with her parents and attend her sister’s wedding. She hopes she doesn’t run into Asher her mom told her he wasn’t coming home this year. But to her shock she sees him at baggage claim in the airport and man do they have a lot of baggage to work through metaphorically!

Thanks to scheming mothers Rosie and Asher are forced to spend time together and work through what happened when they were 18. They both realize how much they have missed each other as friends but as feelings rekindle they are faced with a more complex situation than before. Rosie is up for a promotion in NYC and Archer for a spot at JPL in CA. Can fate really be this cruel again?

I'm a sucker for cozy reads during the holiday season and this book was a perfect fit. It was a super read for Christmas! Forced proximity meets second chance romance.

Dual POV + dual timelines make this a fun, easy read. It's definitely hallmark rom com vibes which I adore. I appreciated the second chance friends to lovers storyline, but there was so much miscommunication between the two main characters that it honestly was annoying. Just not my thing.

I thought this was a super fun read for Christmas! It was full of sparks -- the Spanglish, the forced proximity. I love a second-chance romance, and this one was perfect! It was a great book to curl up with over winter break!

I. Loved. This. Rosie is going home for Christmas for the first time in aaaaaages. She’s scared of running into her high school best friend, and love of her life, Asher. So of course she bumps into him at the airport. They spend Christmas getting to know each other again and learning to forgive each other for the mistakes they made years ago.

Both characters are so very loveable. The pacing of this is just excellent - I love that it doesn’t take them too long to give into their feelings and that we get a fair chunk of the book sorting through the issues in the future of their relationship. I also love the dual timeline - it doesn’t slow things down, and the bits featuring teenage Rosie and Asher are adorable.

What to expect:

- second chance romance
- friends to lovers
- family drama
- quite spicy

I love a good second chance, holiday romance. I do NOT love the miscommunication trope. I can excuse the rash reactions when they were teens but to have them basically go through the same situation as adults and still not TALK to each other about things. Thankfully they didn't react as irrationally as they did at 18 but still, a long conversation can go a long way.

I enjoyed the medling mothers as they were pulling strings behind the scenes but not in a super manipulative way but I really, really don't like Rosie's dad. Do I understand him, yes, but I don't agree with how he treated Rosie and I wish that he would have been addressed more both from Rosie & Asher but also from his wife.

Overall, I enjoyed this story and would absolutely read something more from this author.

Things I loved about this book, childhood, enemies to lovers, the spanglish, the characters. It was a really fun book, from the beginning with the forced proximity, the fact that they have to be together with their families. I also loved the dual POV and when they sent messages to each other.

I loved that the H and h found their way back to each other. The glimpses of the past helped me understand the story. I can't say enough how much I loved this book!!!

I loved this book! I devoured it in only a few sittings and wish there was more to read. The story line was paced very well and the characters were easy to love!

A childhood friends to enemies to lovers story, spicy, second chance romance, forced proximity overall this read was perfect if you're looking for cozy holiday vibes. The only draw back to this story for me was the amount of miscommunication between Rosie and Asher, I completely understand why it is used as a plot device but it just felt that it was relied on too heavily in this story for me.

Dual POV, Spicy, Second Chance, He Falls First, Friends to Enemies to Lovers, Childhood Neighbors
