Wooo the tension was thick… but oh so worth it!!

Caroline Frank really had us on the edge of our seats till the very end to see if our couple was going to get their Happily Ever After, but man was every bit of tension, banter, second guesses, and angst worth it!!
I beyond enjoyed this cute christmassy second chance romance!! We are pretty much immediately dropped into a pot of boiling tension between two best friends who after high school had a pretty intense falling out… skip ahead 9 years and after doing their best to avoid each other they’ve been thrust back together to enjoy the holidays as their families come together for Christmas and a wedding. Between the cute Christmas gifting, the snowman building, stargazing, spicy moments, and even the angsty tension Frank delivers a story that will have even the most skeptical of romance readers flipping pages to see if these two can get it together!! All while rooting for two amazing characters!! Rosie or Rosario are MFC is a sweet, and caring women with an affinity for fashion and the color pink. Who is also struggling with finding herself in the world while feeling like the black sheep of her family, and just trying to do what’s right for those around her and herself. Rosie’s opposite is Asher, our MMC who is a bit nerdy, obsessed with the universe and getting ready to graduate with his PHD, but altogether a man who cares deeply for those he loves and always there to offer a helping hand to those who need it! And the two of them together are the perfect combination of spicy and sweet!! If only they could’ve found the right words to say to each other what they’d really been feeling these last 9 years… though I suppose if they’d been able to find those words this would be a much short book!!
I won’t say to much more though as I don’t want to give anything away. So I’ll finish by saying if you are looking for a Christmas/Wintry second chance romance, with best friends to lovers vibes, tension that will have you flipping pages faster than you can read them, mixed with just the right amount of spice. Then Second Chance Snowmance is absolutely the right book for you!!
HAPPY READING 📖

There’s something about rekindling relationship during the holidays that is perfect in every book you read. Caroline does a fantastic job giving both Rosie and Asher individuality that also pairs perfectly. This story flows with ease and I love the dual timeline, giving so much insight into the feels they have for each other. The heartbreak is real, the love is all consuming. My favorite part outside of our lovely duo had to be the meddling mothers and their tactics to bring the two closer. Such a light hearted, yet deep story of two best friends from love to hate to (maybe) love again. You have to read the book to find out!

When Rosie's family embarks on a life-altering journey from Venezuela to the United States, destiny leads her to become neighbors with Asher. Their initial bond as friends soon blossoms into something far deeper. However, the trials of college life and the weight of their individual aspirations drive a wedge between Asher and Rosie, resulting in an agonizing nine-year period of zero contact. Yet, fate has other plans as their mothers, with unwavering determination, work behind the scenes to reunite the estranged pair. Over those long years, Asher and Rosie both channel their energies into forging successful paths in education and career pursuits, achieving remarkable milestones on opposite coasts of the country. The burning question remains: Can they find it in their hearts to forgive each other and finally embark on the future they've longed for?
In this enchanting narrative, what captivated me most were the endearing interventions of their mothers, who brought a delightful, meddling charm to the story. The author masterfully wove in poignant flashbacks that provide insight into Rosie's and Asher's shared history, while the dual points of view shed light on the profound depth of their feelings for one another. However, it's the heartwarming conclusion that truly stole my heart, delivering the emotional closure and fulfillment that readers crave.

When Rosie’s family moves from Venezuela to America for a better future, she ends up next door to Asher. They became friends and eventually so much more. When miscommunication and the stress of college leaves Asher & Rosie on a 9 year no contact stretch, their mother’s work together to try to push them back together. For 9 years, both of them pushed themselves to move on and dive head first into their education and careers. Each of them have huge advances in their careers happening on opposite sides of the country. Can they forgive each other and finally begin their futures?
This book was so cute! Their meddling mama’s were my favorite part. I loved the flashbacks to Rosie’s and Asher’s past and the dual POV was perfect for setting up just how much they both care for each other. The ending was everything! 😭
🔥The spice was very nice! (I’m a sucker for a glasses wearing MMC 🫣)

Tropes: nerdy MMC, holiday romance, second chance romance, dual POV, dual timeline, childhood friends to lovers

this was such a sweet story! I love a good second-chance romance & this is a cute holiday themed one. Rosie & Archer are very sweet people who have been through some heartbreak. I appreciated that they both acknowledged the hurt they caused in the past, and didn’t let things slip in holding each other accountable. It felt like they had the same issues in this current timeline as they did when they were kids, and that they didn’t really work through their communication and trust issues very well. There were times when one asked the other to be very specific in what they wanted, then the other would go Im not sure what they want. It was kind of frustrating having those recurring problems with no real solution.
for the most part though, this story was fun, sweet, and spicy. I loved the secondary characters and the sibling/parent dynamics that are prevalent throughout the story. I would love a sequel surrounding Dee and her getting a happily ever after!!!
Thank you for the ARC!!!
