Decided to read some children’s books since my normal go to categories are offering not much in the way of good prose styling and
the gorgeous cookbooks that are the hallmark of Ten Speed and Chronicle are only available infrequently.. This was lovely both the story and illustrations brought back the joy of a childhood bedroom library and the pleasures of being read to. The story was lovely not a cautionary fable or the prose of wordplay just the joy of everyday reality and the call to think about how you want things to be vs the surprise of how
good a spontaneous day and all it’s change of plans can be.

Thanks to NorthSouth Books Inc for this ebook!

This is a lovely look at a sisters' day out gone wrong--and also very right! All children will find this tale relatable because we have all had plans that don't work out. I don't always love an author's note at the conclusion, but this one was delightful and really brought the story home by asking kids to think of how they can relate to the book. Loved it!

Wasn’t completely sold on the artwork but figured I’d give it a try given the premise of sisterhood which I love to see and bear witness on the page. It didn’t meet my expectation due to the way the storyline felt fast paced and full of what seemed like incomplete thoughts/phrases. I loved the ending though as it had a nice tender moment between the sisters on the train on their way back home.
