This is a sweet flowing romance between the second son of a marquess and a country miss.
A rival for her affection is his older brother the earl. The memory of a kiss in the pantry makes a real impression on the country miss, but it was not from the earl. In the meantime, someone wants to harm the brothers. The question is who profits from their deaths?
A clean romance to win a lady's heart.

Such a great book! I really liked how all the relationships evolved. The brothers are getting along like never before (even if the eldest is about to make a huge mistake). The sisters are even closer now (even if it's only to make Priscilla feel better). I can't wait to read more about Adrian and Bridget! Hope to read more from you... soon.

A really cute story, even if the ending was a bit cheezy. A great romantic read without being overly spicy. Loved it!

This is the first installment of a new series, The Worthington Legacy, and it is off to a great start! Bridget is the oldest so the responsibility falls on her to marry well. She has her sights set on an earl, but it's his younger brother that captures her heart. She knows she needs to marry for duty, but she really wants to follow her heart and marry for love. Adrian doesn't trust anyone vying for his brother's attention. He sees them all as just fortune hunters. While the same is technically true for Bridget, he can't seem to stop thinking about her. When he meets Bridget, he pretends to be the earl's cousin, they don't get off on the right foot, but he ultimately offers to help create a list for potential husbands. But he can't help the feelings he's developing for Bridget that keep getting stronger every time he is with her. Adrian seems to occupy Bridget's thoughts as well. Two people who initially want nothing to do with each other, but eventually realize they are perfectly matched for each other. Such a sweet story!
Likable characters and a well - written storyline kept me interested and engaged from start to finish. This was an easy to read sweet romance, and I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to continuing the series.

To Follow Love and Take A Risk or Guard Your Heart?

“Her Perfect Scoundrel” is book one in the new “Worthington Legacy” Series by Marie Higgins. This is an easy to read historical romance with likable characters and sweet romance. The story begins with two main characters that want nothing to do with each other and transitions to a story of an idealistic relationship between two perfectly matched souls. The book is not very long so this transition occurs rather quickly and there isn’t a lot of angst included. Even with the brevity of the relationship progression the author does include some fun dialogue and witty banter.

Overall this is an enjoyable read.

Rating: 2.5 Stars = 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Heat: 1.5 Flames 🔥

Note: This series is part of Dragonblade's Sweet Dreams line, so this is a sweet, wholesome Historical Romance where passion beyond the bedroom door is left to the reader’s imagination.

Bridget Hartwell is penniless but yet as the oldest she is expected to marry well.. Her manners and appearance are pleasant and she is not expecting to win either Lord. Lord Adrian Worthington is trying to keep his brothers heart intact. He is trying to keep away the penniless while keeping his own heart. Too bad he is failing miserably.
Good sweet book I enjoyed reading but boy I really like to read about the younger girls I think that book is really going to be full of twists and turns.

Love Cannot Be Denied

Adrian wants nothing to do with marriage. His mission is to protect his brother from money-grabbing debutantes.

Bridget is the oldest of her sisters but must marry well. She should set her cap for the earl, but he is not the one with whom she is falling in love. Adrian, the most vexing of men is the one stealing her heart. Both Adrian and Bridget keep trying to resist the attraction between them. Will they succeed, or must they eventually succumb to love? I enjoyed this sweet Regency romance.

She is not the right woman for his brother, but is she the right one for him? Yes, she is, if she can get Lord Adrian to see her for who she is, not just her father’s daughter. When Adrian offers to help Bridget find a husband and they create a list of what she is looking for, she lets slip why he didn’t put his name on the list. From there all kinds of fun stuff starts to happen. Especially these strange feelings that Adrian is having every time he’s around Bridget or thinking about her. He can’t figure out why, as he’s never felt this way before around her. Accept now Bridget is trying to land his brother for a husband, but that will never happen if Adrian can help it.

I enjoyed this first book of the series. The last chapter was the best. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Adversarial....

Lord Adrian Worthington hates female fortune hunters (which really isn't fair to any lady, the whole of the ton is set up for a financially advantageous match. That's the whole point of marriage). Anyway, while he and his brother aren't chummy, he does want to protect him from a country bumpkin looking to marry for money. He goes undercover as his cousin and he and Bridget do not have a meet cute.

Bridget is tasked with marrying well, hoping to meet Adrian's brother, the earl, as her father has put the pressure on her to marry up. She also has three very busy sisters. Bridget and Adrian don't get off to a good start and there's a bit more complications.

A short novel with likable main characters who are a perfect match for each other. It’s an enjoyable and entertaining afternoon read. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

For entertainment purposes, it is a fun historical fiction romance. The setting is a generic English countryside with a regency/Victorian feel. A short novel with cute meet moments and sweet likable main characters.

The author's descriptions and voice set the stage, but the actions and events that take place require one to set aside historically accurate facts. As an example: the genteel society and commoners do not usually mix, and it should require a lot of preparation and explanation for the exception. There's more, but I won't spoil the story.

It's still entertaining and a quick read, worth an afternoon to read with the knowledge that this is a loosely based historical fiction romance.

The story is a 2.8/5 star rating.

He is once bitten, twice shy and want nothing to do with fortune huntresses. Her family is in want financially but it is not her priority. The hero is very likeable with a very good sense of humour while she is admirable in her integrity with a dash of mischief. The perfect scoundrel turns out to be her perfect mate. Wonderful read!

I received an ARC from Netgalley and leaving my review voluntarily.
