Excellent storytelling by Bruce McAlpine. I thoroughly enjoyed both the adventure of selling antiquities, and the maturing of the characters. Add to that the visual elements of locations and you have a first class story.

Let me start by saying that the magic of books by Bruce McAlpine is the visual storytelling. These locations, the feeling of being there, it really is an experience in history to read his books.

In Another Place was a much different experience than I had reading These Millions of Years, where I was familiar with Egyptian history I went into this one with little knowledge of the world of Italian art.

Overall this was an interesting read that kept me engaged and wondering what would happen next. With as much as I enjoyed these books I'll happily read anything Bruce McAlpine writes.

Thank you to Troubador and NetGalley for providing an advance copy of this E-Book, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I didn’t enjoy this book at all. The characters were shallow and not believable. An unsympathetic antiques dealer dealing in illegally sourced items. A countess , perfectly poised and turned out at one point and then giggly and nervous. I found it hard to concentrate and basically skim read.
