I was hooked from the first page and I’m so glad I read this book. The environment worked overall with the genre and I was enjoying the story being told. The characters were everything that I was looking for and worked in this setting. It was translated well and enjoyed the mystery going on.

A teenagers troubled past leads to self discovery and the role she may play in her own murder.

Anna is a teenager struggling to understand her biological parents abandonment when she was a child. She was placed with several foster families which none worked out. As Anna becomes of age and independent, she is given a home named Odinmont. Anna meets a few other kids who like her, don't fit in to the mainstream high school crowd. Anna discovers that her ability to see the future connects her to the Norse gods. Anna and her friends join forces to prevent a murder that might be her very own.

Malene Solvsten first book of the Whisper of the Ravens series is a page turner from the very beginning. Anna is a character that most teens can relate as they navigate the rigors of high school. Anna's added ability to see the future adds to her already high school challenges. The inclusion of Ansuz which pertains to Greek mythology brings mythical elements to the story. Anna is joined by a few others who also learn they are demigods which results in humor along the way. I enjoyed this book immensely and am excited for its follow-up, Fehu.

I highly recommend this book. It is like Rick Riordians popular books, only much darker with content aimed for teens.
