This was…weird. It was enjoyable, and spooky, and disturbing. I didn’t want to put it down. But every character in the family was disturbing. Maybe that’s the hallmark of a good novel.

House of Glass was a compelling and emotionally charged read that kept me hooked from beginning to end. I loved how Sarah Pekkanen skillfully explored complex family secrets and the impact of past choices. The characters felt real and relatable, with their struggles adding depth to the story. It was a beautifully written novel that combined suspense and heartfelt moments in a way that stayed with me long after finishing

Spooly and mysterious, this book had me turning pages late into the night to finish it. This author is a solid go-to for psych thrillers with plausible twists and fully realized characters.

I don’t usually go for domestic suspense, but this one kept me interested. It’s a bit slow at times, and some of the characters got on my nerves, but overall it was a quick and easy read.
I liked Stella as a character, though some of her parts felt a little out of place and maybe not totally necessary. Still, I enjoyed the mystery and how the secrets came to light.
The ending felt a bit rushed and wasn’t quite what I expected, but it tied things up well enough. I’d recommend it to fans of this author or anyone who enjoys a twisty domestic suspense.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy!

Really enjoyed. Kept me guessing until the end. I was shocked in the best way and couldn’t not put it down! I needed to know how it would end.

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen is a tense, emotional thriller about a child advocate unraveling a family's dark secrets. Fast-paced and atmospheric, though some twists feel predictable.

This is my first by this author and it will most definitely not be my last. She kept me guessing through the entirety of this book and it ended with a bang.

Stella is an attorney that decides the best for the child in divorce cases. When she takes a new case there is one problem Rose the child she has to represent has stopped speaking, so how can she advocate for a child who can't speak? The whole case is a mess, her dad had an affair with the nanny. So when she ends up dead they don't know who did it or if it was suicide or an accident. This book had me guessing and just when I thought that I had it figured out, I was thrown a new plot twist.

This is a decent mystery thriller. It is the first book by this author that I have read. I enjoyed the book, although some parts were a bit slow. There are really two mysteries here: the current situation and the past situation. Nice twists with several suspects.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a digital copy.

Love how many twists and turns we're in this book. Everytime I thought I knew what was going to happen, boom, the opposite of what I thought happened. Definately a great thriller read. Highly recommend to anyone looking for their next book. I'll be on the lookout for more books from this author !

Thank you to Sarah Pekkanen, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an eARC of House of Glass!

I enjoyed this book so much! I liked the multiple mysteries and all the twists and turns. I liked that the author kept us guessing as to who the killer was and just when I thought I had it figured out, a wrench would get thrown into the plot giving another character motive and making me completely reevaluate my thought process.
This was a super quick read and I would recommend it for those who are fans of Ruth Ware, Sarah Pearse, or Riley Sager.

I thought this was pretty good overall! The pacing was strong, the writing was sharp as always, and there were a few nice twists that kept me engaged. That said, I did find parts of the plot a bit predictable. If you’ve read enough thrillers, some of the beats will feel familiar. The main character was extremely nosy (lol), which definitely drove the plot forward, but also made me raise an eyebrow more than once. I’ve read six of Sarah Pekkanen’s books, and while this is probably my least favorite of the bunch, it’s still a solid domestic suspense!

A dark thriller about an attorney named Stella who is hired to act in the best interests of a young girl named Rose. Rose’s parents are divorcing after a terrible incident where the former nanny fell to her death in the house. Now the house has no glass windows, the young daughter is obsessed with collecting sharp objects, and worse, she refuses to speak. The rest of the family are just as strange. Was the nanny murdered or did she plunge to her death? Rose may be the only one who witnessed the murder, and now it is up to Stella to uncover the truth that the family is trying to hide.
I loved the dark, creepy atmosphere of this thriller and it definitely kept me on edge wondering what would happen next. I have read almost all of Sarah Pekkanen’s books and although I thought this was different than her others I still enjoyed it and look forward to reading her next one! 4 ⭐️

Stella is an attorney assigned to act as the guardian ad litem in the custody battle over a young girl named Rose. Rose’s parents are divorcing after the recent possible murder of the nanny. Stella needs to not only decide the best home environment for Rose, but also see if she is in the unique position to help solve which adult is ultimately responsible for the nanny's death. Is it the mother, father, grandmother, or even more sinisterly, is it Rose?
Additionally, Rose is completely mute as a ptsd response to all the chaos surrounding her. Stella experienced a similar response after the death of her own mother in childhood, and will likely be the only person that can help in this stressful situation.
This was a thrilling story that hooked me from the very first chapter! I loved Stella’s character and was rooting for her to succeed and solve the mystery. Rose also won me over. Even before we discovered her guilt or innocence, I felt such empathy for the trauma that she endured. 4/5 stars

I enjoyed House of Glass! While it did feel a bit wordy and dragged in places, and I was able to predict a few of the twists before they happened, it was still an entertaining read overall. I’d call it a solid “popcorn thriller” — easy to get into and hold your attention.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

What a wild ride House of Glass was. 4 solid stars.
House of Glass is one of those books that has you on the edge of your seat the entire time. From the moment, I started the book, I could not put it down. I was so enthralled with the concept. If there is one thing I absolutely love in a thriller, is having a main plot and a subplot. I love multiple layers of mystery. It really enriches the story for me and always has me completely hooked.
While I do think some of the plotlines in House of Glass were a bit predictable. It doesn’t negate that Sarah Pekkanen knows how to write a great story. Her last few books have been some of my personal favorites. She takes common tropes and applies her own twists to them and I love that. I know going into one of her books because while I think I know where a story is going, she pulls the rug out from underneath me. And that always impresses me.
Seeing a few other reviews mention that they felt the subplot was a bit unnecessary and I completely disagree. I think it really allowed me to know Stella and it allowed for a full in depth look into why she is the way she is. And why she helps children like Rose. Why she gives them a voice when they don’t have one. If I didn’t know her past, then I don’t think I would have fully understood her.
The big who done it, I can say I didn't see coming. I had my sights set on someone else the entire time. Now that is how you write a thriller, you set it up with any possible suspects and you don’t make it super obvious. And Pekkanen delivered. Another 10/10 thriller and I cannot wait for the next one.

This one hooked me from the beginning and kept me guessing the whole way through! I loved both storylines and how they played together. A great novel from Sarah Pekkanen!

Who can you trust? In this novel, absolutely no one. They are all liars, telling half-truths to fit their agenda. But that's what makes this book so gripping. Which truths and lies do we pay most attention to? Sarah Pekkanen knows how to keep us guessing, and once all the secrets came unraveled, I admit I was shocked at the culprit.

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen is a tense, twisty thriller that pulls you in with its locked-room setup and steadily mounting suspense. The story unfolds in a tightly controlled setting, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere that heightens the stakes. While some character motivations could have been explored more deeply, the plot kept me guessing and engaged throughout. It’s a compelling, fast-paced read with plenty of surprises—well worth four stars.

Stella Hudson is an attorney, appointed to serve as counsel for children in custody cases. She usually refuses to accept clients under the age of thirteen due to a her own traumatic childhood experiences but she was told that she might be the only one that would be able to help Rose. Rose Barclay is a nine-year-old girl who suffers from traumatic mutism. It all started after she witnessed the possible murder of her nanny Tina and now her parents are getting divorced. Will Stella be able to help her since she suffered traumatic mutism as a child? She has been tasked to recommend the custody arrangement for the Barclays.
This is a quick, entertaining read that fans of psychological suspense will likely enjoy, especially those who appreciate a fast-paced story. I felt like the romantic interest at the end was just rushed and just didn't fit in with the story line. If it had developed throughout the book it would have been fine but it just seemed awkward and rushed.
