Sarah Pekkanen has quickly become an auto read author me. I love her work and House of Glass was no exception. Absolutely hooked from page one and had to keep going to get to the end.
House of Glass painted just about everyone as a suspect, and I was pleased with the ending wrap up. A quick and enjoyable read for me.

I loved this story and right up to the end I was on the edge of my seat! This was my kind of book with characters that you love to hate and none stop action. There was so much going on and I loved every second of it. If you like a twisty thriller, this one is for you.
Many thanks to the author, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Being a nanny, I always love reading about nannies and creepy kids! House of Glass was a 3.25/5 ⭐️ for me!! I really wanted to like this one and I did like some parts. This one was just pretty slow and I was able to get the twist about half way through. I don’t care for reading about infidelity and that was a big part of this one! I did love the little girl and how creepy she was at times!

House of Glass is an incredible thriller that will leave you wondering who is truthful, who is lying, and who is the murderer.
This story unfolds at a slower pace, which lets the reader be as observant as Stella is when it comes to the Barclay family. After Rose Barclay’s nanny falls to her death and her parents announce a divorce, Stella is hired to determine which parent is the correct parent to have primary custody of Rose. Stella has to make this decision because Rose can’t speak - a case of traumatic mutism after the death of her nanny.
The more time Stella spends with the Barclay’s, the more secrets she uncovers. And the pace of the story allows the reader to soak in the details and come up with their own theories and suspect list, just to have to throw it out after the next chapter.
I had such a blast reading and listening to House of Glass. I did not correctly figure out who the murderer is, or see any of the twists that unfold. While I normally love a fast paced thriller, House of Glass has taught me to appreciate a slow unraveling before my eyes. I was so impressed with the layers each character has, even down to a seemingly minor side character there is a depth to their story that brings a new perspective or clue to the main plot. This is such a riveting tale and if you love having to solve the puzzle, this one is for you. The audio book was clear to understand and easy to listen to - and I could listen at a faster pace and still maintain the story. I would listen to something by that narrator again.

This book was the perfect combination of mystery and relationships. The character development was gripping and I couldn't wait to find out the ending! Loved this book and recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley!
This one definitely ended differently than I was expecting. Although I had a slight hint of who it was but some of the other things that happened I wasn't expecting at all!
I always enjoy a good thriller that makes me want to continue listening or reading! highly recommend it if you like a good "who did" it book.

Really great. I love the writing style and the cover. Such a great book. Thank you for letting me read in advance.

This book was the perfect co.bination of mystery, relationships, and plot. Stella is relatable and a heroine and victim at the same time. The character development was gripping and I couldn't wait to find out the ending! Loved this book and recommend.

I really enjoyed most of what I was able to read about this book. While I would have preferred a little bit more character development the pacing and the actual story drew me in. Unfortunately I was unaware of the archive date and did not get to finish the very end.

in this story, we follow stella, a successful lawyer who just took on the case of rose barclay. she is her best interest attorney, deciding if either beth, her mom, or ian, gain full custody of her after the divorce is final. however, this is not the average case. scandal surrounds the family after tina, the nanny, was found dead having fallen from the window in her room. ian, suspiciously, also was having an affair with her. stella realizes that knowing what happened to tina is vital to deciding who gets custody of rose, who is now mute due to trauma.
there is a lot going on in this story at all times. you have stella’s past that she’s confronting throughout, along with tina’s death and deciding who gets custody of rose. it wasn’t hard for me to keep up though. no one is safe from suspicion, which i loved as it kept me guessing the whole time.
this was a really fast and engaging read. there were a few parts that may have dragged a little but not anything too serious. the multiple plot twists all got me at the end!! i would def recommend this book to others

Stella Hudson is an attorney that’s assigned nine year old Roses Barclay case. Rose's parents are going through an extremely bitter divorce, both are requesting sole custody of their daughter. Stella has the task of determining what’s in Rose’s best interest and who she should live with. Before being assigned their case, the family’s nanny fell out of a second-floor window with Rose witnessing it all, since that fateful day Rose hasn’t spoken a word.
As Stella digs into Rose’s life and spending personal one on one time with her she begins to feel something sinister. From the moment of Stella’s arrival at the Barclay's large, sterile, historic home, warning bells sound in Stella's head. Especially with Rose with the dark, haunting eyes who's been hiding sharp objects in her room. Why? Is she afraid of someone? Or is she planning on harming someone? No glass is allowed from the windows to the glasses they drink from. She begins to realize this is a family harboring a host of secrets and she needs to tread carefully as she continues uncovering more lies!

Such a thrill ride that I could not put down. It was such a fast read that left me on the edge of my seat!

Love books like this where everyone is a suspect. This book was definitely a page turner. So many secrets. So many twist and turns. This book will take you on a wild ride. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of the book.

"House of Glass" by Sarah Pekkanen
was a well written & addictive mystery/thriller that had me guessing until the very end.
This is the 2nd book that I've read by Ms. Pekkanen & I have also read 3 books with her collaborator Greer Hendricks.
I'm excited to see what she decides to write next.

3.5 stars even though this was not my favorite psychological thriller, it did keep me guessing and I did not see that ending coming. I would describe this more as a murder mystery. It was a slow burn with a ton of thought put into the details and how each character had a woven part in the whole mystery.
Nine year old, Rose Barclay is currently suffering from traumatic mutism, following the sudden and tragic death of her nanny, Tina. Tina tragically fell from a window at the Barclay’s residence leaving her death ruled as an accident, but everyone is a suspect.
Rose’s parents are now going through a divorce following this trauma. In order to determine what is best for Rose, Stella Hudson is cautiously appointed to serve as the families best interest attorney in order to determine what would be best for Rose. Stella understands traumatic mutism more than most, as she suffered with it herself as a young girl. However, things are not as they seem. Why is Rose mute? Who murdered Tina? And will Rose end up being placed with a killer?
My least favorite was the ending with Charles story line I found it so odd that she would not have been upset at all because it completely sent her family’s course in a dark direction.
Thank you NetGalley, the author and the publisher for this arc!

This was my first book by Sarah Pekkanen. I really enjoyed this twisty thriller. Everyone is a suspect in the nanny's murder. This book will have you wanting to turn the pages quickly to see what is happening next. Thanks NetGalley for the eArc.

Twisty, dark, they are all suspects, they are all damaged, they are all covering and protecting each other. This was an extremely well crafted thriller which kept me guessing and thinking, she did it, no he is the guilty one, or maybe it isn’t either one or maybe both or all three or could it possibly be the child?! The problem is that everyone is damaged, the wife by her husband, the son by his mother, the mother by her life, the child by everyone and the “best interest attorney” could be the most damaged of all. There is an interesting back story that stays hidden for most of the book but when it is revealed it is another amazing twist in the story.
I could not put this book down. I admit to almost hyperventilating along with Stella at certain points in the story. It is one of the best of this genre and I look forward to what Sarah Pekkanen produces next. Thanks to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for a copy.

Creepy, atmospheric and intense, House of Glass is one thriller that caused me to lose sleep at night. It was excellent in the way the storyline and the details emerged perfectly throughout. I wasn’t able to figure who done it easily, at least until the last quarter of the book, which is unusual for me. All the characters were well written and developed. Highly recommend!

Thank you to St Martin's Press for the digital copy!
Stella is a best-interest attorney, and is paired with nine year old Rose- whose parents are in the middle of a divorce and therefore a heated custody battle. Mom, Dad, and Grandma all seem to want what is best for the child, but Stella can't ask Rose- because she is mute. She led a seemingly normal life, until her nanny fell from a third story window and died. Now Rose silently collects sharp objects anytime she can. Her parents have removed all sharp things from the house- plastic cups, plexiglass windows, not even glass in their picture frames.
I enjoyed the tangled web that was this book. It was a "whodunit" mystery where everyone was a suspect at some point- my guesses changed with each chapter. The amount that a family will go through to protect their children is always believable- even when it's unbelievable. I did feel that the coincidences didn't feel strong enough to make a good shock factor, and I didn't really feel the tension I should have. I think it was a little long for my liking and and could have shortened it a little bit more, with less focus on Stella's childhood, since it was not overall important to the plot line. Overall I liked the ever-changing suspicion of the characters and how they were all realistically flawed, which made the story plausible.

This book had me at the edge of my seat! Just when I thought I had it figured it out...BAM! I didn't! There was just enough domestic drama to keep you intrigued while keeping the thriller and mystery element alive as well! Anything with a creepy little kid involved is sure to be a good thriller! I would highly recommend this book!
