The illustration of this book is beautiful. It is a little bit confusing at first, as there are no words to describe what is happening, so I had to go back once to determine what was happening. The imagination of the story is excellent once you catch on.

I wasn't expecting this one to not have words. I generally don't care for children's books without words. I really like the illustration style though.

Thank you to the publisher for this copy in exchange for my honest review.

What a beautiful picture book for young children. My son loves all things space - and he enjoyed this one! This is a wordless book, so the pictures are what draws you in. The fact that there are no words turns this book into a beautiful open ended discussion, where creativity thrives.

One Giant Leap is a creative, wordless picture book about a child's astronaut adventures into space. Thao Lam does a wonderful job of providing visual clues for us to understand what's happening in the story. Lam is a paper collage artist and like her previous books, this book features her signature cut-paper collage. The collages are so fun and definitely enhance the story. I think kids will get a kick out of this story as they'll get to use their imagination to tell the story themselves.

One Giant Leap is a beautiful picture book without words about an astronaut exploring a new place. I loved Thao Lam's previous book, so I was excited to read this one. The artwork is gorgeous. It's made up of elaborate cut paper to form each picture. The story might be a little tricky for a child to follow, but will spur some great discussion between the adult and child.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

This is a wordless picture book. While this book as beautiful pictures that tell the story, it could be hard for some young readers to follow. I think this book will need support to fully understand and appreciate.

A picture book without words BUT don't let that deter you.

Stories like these can really help shape a young reader's imagination by letting them choose the story line to coincide with the series of images.

Unique artwork that is detailed and gives a bit more depth than regular 2D drawings.

Overall, an adorable read.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book.

This wordless picture book has bold paper-cut illustrations, showing an astronaut heading off to space. Some things in the illustrations closely relate to outer space, while others are more fanciful, and the ending shows that the whole story was from kids make-believe playing in the snow. This is really cute, and the illustrations combine imaginative elements and real-world structures in really cute, creative ways. This will appeal to kids and adults who like wordless picture books about children's imagination.

This is a great picture book about the power of imagination. A child suits up and presses an elevator button to find themselves transported to another planet! As they jump around and explore, you'll some familiar and not so familiar sights. The art style was great, it's done in like a paper craft cutout style, that really adds to the sense of imagination and creating a setting that is going on. It's also wordless, perfect for little young readers make up their own stories alongside the illustrations.

One Giant Leap is a vibrant, wordless picture book in collage. The main character suits up and descends into the vastness of space. The reader follows along as the astronaut hikes, climbs, seeks and finds. The protagonist encounters various species, a storm, and becomes lost. How will he make his way home? A satisfying surprise ending ties the story together. Thao Lam uses a variety of layers and textures to effectively create the moonscape. The vivid color selection and patterns make the creatures come alive. Readers will want to tell this story over and over.

Curriculum tie ins:
Use it as a fun introduction to a lesson on the moon.
Practice building vocabulary by narrating the events in the illustrations.
