This is the 5th release in the new "Kitchen Witch Mystery Series" by cozy author Lynn Cahoon. This series is a delight to cozy readers with fun paranormal elements and great characters. The author has a writing style that brings her characters alive to the reader. Her cozy series are all enchanting and fun to read. She writes the Tourist Trap series on of my favorites, the Cat Latimer, Farm-to-Fork series and this series the Kitchen Witch. Her new series is the Survivors' Book Club placed in the southwest with engaging fun characters and sleuthing with a book club. She also writes The Haunted Life. Ms. Cahoon is a favorite cozy author and each series and release are well crafted and fun to read. Thank you to the author, to Net Galley and to the publisher for the opportunity for review. . My review opinions are my own.

Mia is working to keep her catering business alive by working as a catering directior at the local popular ski lodge. The boss is difficult and rude but she needs the job while Trents Mom runs her catering business. , The job keeps her very busy but she likes the work. Her younger roomate Christine works for her catering company and lives with Mia in the old school she has renovated. She has a close relationship with her boyfriend Trent , Christine and Trents Mother Abigal.

When Christine's ex arrives trouble brews for Christine . A body is found in his rental and Mia wants to solve this mysterious sleuth to save Christine as a prime suspect. Due to her background with the police they assume Christine is the prime suspect. The fun grows with the arrival of 3 active kittens on her doorstep much to the chagrin of her cat and a maltese puppy as Trent's familiar. Its nice to see the growth of their relationship in this next in series as they work together with their friends to solve this murder.

I love the rich characters that the author creates for the reader. I read this cover to cover as I enjoy the flow of her writing and of the sleuth. The reveal surprised me at the conclusion with a suspect I did not expect. This is a fun series that is a must read for cozy readers. I look forward to the next in series.

Mia and Trent are back in another magical cozy mystery. Liked this one, although the kitten side story felt like it was left hanging? A lot of things seem to be building up to something, so expect more will be involved in future books. Still though, enjoyed this one and this series and would recommend.
