I wanted to add this quote in because it's one of the first lessons of this book that everyone has to learn besides just the one character.
A sincere apology can go a long way for sure and certain. So can forgiveness which is the hardest part because of one's pride.
“God bless you, and gut luck,” the bishop said with a nod. “If your apology doesn’t go the way you want it to, be patient and try again, Isaac. Life is a road, and every step along the way is a lesson.”“And if you choose not to ask Vera for forgiveness,” warned Preacher Amos, “we’ll be hearing your confession at church next Sunday, so the congregation can vote on your penance.”
Here's another quote I loved
“My hatred would eat me away from the inside out, while it probably wouldn’t even faze you. I’ve chosen to let it go, and to let God be in charge.
If we all could do that think how the world would be a different place! This is why I admired Vera. She knows who has control and chose to give it to Him. Not other people.
Hate does eat away at you. It never affects the other person only you.
Issac I wasn't too sure about in the beginning. I only thought that he came back to cause more trouble. But, there's still hope.for him yet. He's a hard headed one that one. It's going to take a hard lesson for him to learn of he ever does.
In a way I kind of feel sorry for him. Because generally all that starts in the home. For Issac it was his dad and that's all I'm going to say about that one. I don't want to ruin it for others. But I think other readers will figure it put.
I love this cover! It's my favorite color!

Not having heard of this author before, I picked this book up as the blurb claimed it was ‘perfect for fans of Shelley Shepard Gray and Beth Wiseman!’
This was not the case at all, and as an avid Amish romance reader, I was left disappointed.
I am unlikely to try another book from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
