At the age of eight, an accident leads Olivia Morgan to mistakenly take a man’s life. Two decades later, Detective Olivia Morgan, along with her partner Luke Reed, returns to her hometown to help solve several mysterious murders.
As Olivia uncovers the facts in the disappearances, she discovers she personally knows all of the missing people.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had many twists and turns in it that made me want to reach the end. I wish the Epilogue would have been a little longer, but since this is Book One in a new series I assume we will find out more about what happens to Detective Morgan in the next book.
I’m looking forward to more books in the future!

My thanks to the Author publisher's and NetGalley for providing me with a Kindle version of this book to read and honestly review.
A well written Police procedural, character driven our heroine Detective, with a somewhat tragic childhood returning to her home town with her partner to investigate a series of murders. Engaging enjoyable easy read nothing original or unique, and without any major shocks or surprises that have me staring open mouthed at the page. Hence only four stars, but then comes the ending or should that be non ending? with no explanation of what happened to whodunit, which almost led to three stars.
Disappointing conclusion.

I just finished this book & have thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot was twisted & interesting. I definitely recommend reading this one!!I I am looking forward to reading more from Isabella Steele.

In the chilling heart of a quiet town, Detective Olivia Morgan is thrust into a mystery that's eerily linked to her darkest secret. At the tender age of eight, an accident led her to mistakenly take a man's life. Two decades later, as disappearances plague her hometown, Olivia faces a haunting revelation: every vanished person had connections to that very man she believed she had killed.

Olivia's return to her roots becomes a harrowing journey as she grapples with a past that relentlessly shadows her. The town, with its whispers and judgmental glares, doesn't make it any easier. As the net tightens around the disappearances, the sense of being surveilled grows more acute for Olivia. Mysterious threats, chilling reminders of her traumatic past, and an unexpected appearance by her estranged sister—who seems intent on halting her investigation—makes Olivia question everything she thought she knew.
