I wanted to read this book because I was curious about PR, and got to learn instead that it's not marketing, sales or the urgency of telling a story, and that was quite interesting.
I would recommend this to anyone who is new to PR, or who has questions about it because the author delves into some Q&A bits in this book to clarify and respond to some major assumptions in the field.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.

As an owner of a PR agency and an instructor of PR in the undergraduate program at a university, diving into books that echo the pulse of the industry is something I often indulge in. This time, courtesy of NetGalley, I navigated through the pages of "PR Confidential" by Amanda Proscia, a veteran who's lent 30 years to the PR sphere. Through a witty advice column format, Proscia demystifies the often misunderstood world of public relations, offering a blend of sage advice and hearty laughs along the way.

The narrative unfolds the essence and the not-so-essence of PR, separating it from its cousins - advertising, marketing, and sales. It's a light yet insightful read, especially for those on the brink of stepping into the PR domain, be it as a client or a budding professional.

Peppered with funny client stories grounded in real-life lessons, this book not only serves as a foundational stone for potential clients and first-year PR or communications students but also as a mirror reflecting the ever-evolving landscape of public relations.

"PR Confidential" is a hearty recommend for anyone looking to decode the PR maze with a good chuckle along the way.
