This book is exactly as described - short and spicy! I truly enjoyed it. This book is well written with great characters and storyline. Perfect for those who want a quick spicy book to get lost in.

I was initially drawn to this book by its captivating cover and was excited to dive into it. As it is marketed as erotica, I had high expectations for a steamy read. However, I found that the book leaned more towards smut than plot, even more so than what I typically enjoy. The plot seemed to take a backseat and served primarily as a vehicle for the explicit content. If you're in the mood for something incredibly smutty, then this book might be an option for you. However, if you prefer a balance of plot and steaminess, I would recommend skipping this one.

3 ⭐️2 🌶️ I want to thank NetGalley and the author for allowing me early access to this book. This is a dark Romantasy book. It was a good short story, and I really enjoyed reading the blurb of this story. it had good detail but I wanted more character build up and world build up but I did like the main characters Auralia and Donovan. If you like smut then you’re in luck as this had a lot of smut however it was not the type of smut I’m used to as I expected more as it was advertised as erotica however I do like a bit of plot to the story and I felt it lacked a little, but if you’re someone that enjoys smutty books with little plot then this book is for you. Overall if this had more of a plot or a bit of the back story as it was a bit confusing as to how everything came to light etc however I think I would’ve enjoyed this a lot more if it had all that context. But other than that I did enjoy this and finished it in a hour an a half. If you do read this book please check trigger warnings!

No. Just. No. I thought SJM wrote some laughable faerie spice, but this just takes the cake. I'm so sorry but I can't get behind spice that has bland main characters, a borderline abusive love interest, and just no imagination when it comes to faerie courts. Just no.

Hard pass.

This was an excellent plot plan with very unique myths. The spice was hot and the tension palpable. I just wish the plot itself took more time to develop.

This was an interesting book to read as I normally shy away from one from one's with different worlds involved. With that being said it is fun to reach and try something different. When that book is good and a page turner that you want to continue to see what will happen next it makes it even better. This is one of those books.

This was a fun spooky little novella for Halloween, I enjoyed it, it is a part of a series so there are aspects from the series in the standalone novella. I didn’t hate it.

I enjoyed this book very much. The spice was perfect and so was the romance. I'm looking forward to the next book.

The cover caught my attention - the description pulled me in but the story obsessed caused me to become obsessed!

Thank you to Netgalley and Georgie Monroe for giving me a copy of the book.

It is a second books in the Faetales series. It is fast paced and a quick read with a lot of smut. I enjoyed the relationship between the MC's.

I don’t think I fully knew what to expect from this book. But, I don’t think it was for me.

I found that I was really confused by what was happening. I came into this book without reading the first book— which is supposed to be okay— but I felt like this book lacks context without the first book. It felt like we were just thrown into the middle of the story. And the passage of time just felt weird.

This book is marketed as erotica, so I expected it to have a lot of smut. It was definitely more smut than plot. It was a little more smut than plot than I normally enjoy. The plot was really just a vehicle for the smut.

If you are craving something really smutty, this is an option. But if you like a little more plot with your smut, I’d skip this one.

Voluntary ARC review
Rating: 3 ⭐️ /5

Spice level: 🌶🌶🌶/5
Favorite highlight: “But don't think I will sway from wanting you, and don't tell me you're leaving. There are a lot of things I'd do for you, but letting you go isn't one of them”

So this could technically be read as a stand alone if you don’t mind feeling out of the loop in a few scenarios. But the author graciously provides us with a brief synopsis from the previous book. And just the synopsis alone has me running to read it as well. But chapter one starts with “Love is dumb”. I usually glaze over the chapter titles but these had me giggling, just a little 😅 We have dual POV and oh my, what a POV it is. The main thing that I couldn’t shake was having a hard time believing the feelings the characters had, maybe because more of their history is explained in the previous story? But overall, it was a nice, quick read with plenty of bantering, a tiny bit of angst, and a HEA. Oh and Donovan 🥵

A first time read by this author. Not having read the book before this didn't really affect me. I could follow on easily enough.

This is a story of Auralia and her love for Donavan. But she is the bride "pet" of the complete douche bag boogeyman.

It's an quick read and shows you another side to the fae's. I liked that this focused on the unseelie fae's.

I somehow didn't notice it's book 2 in series before requesting it via NetGalley. As it is the whole plot with the Boogeyman (yes, that's literally his name) starts in book 1.

I appreciate trigger warnings and disclaimers at the beginning. I wish more books did that tbh.

The plot is well summarized by the title alone. The FMC is hellbent on dealing with her problems alone. The MMC is hellbent on helping her no matter what he says. He's really sweet guy.

Erotica is hot, the plot is... Well, there is a plot apparently. SOME FAE HAVE BAT WINGS. I feel this aspect if it was underappreciated.

I liked the book well enough. It was fun, but nothing to write home about.

"Stealing the Bogeyman's Heart," the second installment in a series that supposedly stands alone, delves into the complex and tumultuous relationship between Auralia and Donovan, two nobles living in the enigmatic Unseelie Court.

Despite being marketed as a standalone read, this book presented a considerable challenge for readers new to the series. Upon diving into the narrative, I found it challenging to connect with the characters and their world because of the assumption that I possessed prior knowledge about their backgrounds and relationships from the first book. As a result, the story seemed distant and uninviting, leaving me feeling like I had invested my time in an unfulfilling and confusing experience.

Adding to the disappointment was the lack of depth within the story. The characters, descriptions, and the world they inhabit lacked the vibrancy and richness that typically draws readers into fantastical realms. This absence of detail and dimension left me indifferent to the events and conflicts that unfolded within the narrative. It felt like the potential for a captivating and immersive experience was left unexplored.

In terms of the more intimate elements of the book, the romance and sensuality within "Stealing the Bogeyman's Heart" left much to be desired. The intimate moments between the characters failed to ignite the passion and emotional connection that one might hope for in a story of this nature. The lackluster execution in this aspect of the book added to the overall sense of dissatisfaction.

In conclusion, "Stealing the Bogeyman's Heart" might have its merits for established fans of the series who are already familiar with the characters and their world. However, as a standalone novel, it falls short, with a lack of character development, world-building, and sensuality that leaves readers feeling like they've missed out on the essence of the story. For newcomers, it's a challenging and ultimately unfulfilling read.

Because of the low star-rating/review, I won't be sharing this review on GoodReads/Amazon.

As I opened this book I knew I couldn't start it without reading the first. I dove head first into the story and was hooked from teh begining. It was such a fun, fast-paced read and I am glad I started there becasue it gave context to who our MMC was for this book.

Now this book delved into a world of secrets and a love you know you want but you stop yourself from having. I loved the banter and the fight for a love that you know you are destined to have. Plus the spicy scenes were on point! I am very intrigued with this story and cannot wait for the third installation.

I am hoping for more 4 way scenes ;)

Auralia is meant to be the Bogeyman's wife but she's fallen in love and in denial over Donovan an unseelie fae for his safety. She doesn't want the Bogeyman to invade anyone's dreams, making them live their worse nightmare or memories. Now he's decided to take back what's his but is Auralia even his anymore.

This short novella is not short in spice or characher motivation. I felt it was a bit fast but it still works and enjoyed it. Solid 4 stars for the length and spice if you are looking for something quick to read between books.

Auralia has made an oath to represent the Unseelie Crown Court. But she has a dark secret. A mistake she did years ago comes back to haunt her. But her love for another at court makes everything all the more difficult.

Stealing the Bogeyman’s bride is the second installment of the faetales, and as usual, I haven’t read the first one, but I was caught up with it in the very first chapter.

The two POV’s in this story is Auralia and Donovan. I really did like the story, and I wanted to know what would happen so I kept on reading. The plot twists were good, and I enjoyed where the story was going. Also, Auralia. My beloved.

If you like fae stories, fantasy, smut, I’d really like to recommend this!

Happy reading!♥️

I really should have requested the first book when I seen it because, while this one was fine as a standalone, there were some things that just would have been better if I had also read that one.

This was a short and pretty fun read. Donovan and Aura are one of those couples who are always at each other's throats while trying to hide how much they're in love with the other. I loved the power dynamics between them when it came to their bedroom play and they both loved the chase.

Donovan is the right hand man to the guy currently acting as king while his brother is missing. Boy was he a hot menacing package. He has desired nothing more than to openly claim Aura as his own since he caught her in what I assume was part of the previous book. It's clear that Aura wants him just as deeply, so it's unfortunate that she has so many secrets and is actually there as a spy.

Aura didn't seem like she was stupid to me, so I couldn't help but wonder why she never thought that the bogeyman had actually tricked her into thinking that they were bonded as mates. There were so many signs that it wasn't true. But it's because she believes this, and because she knows how much harm he can inflict onto those she loves, that when he demands she return with him she goes mostly willingly. And that's something Donovan will not accept.

I enjoyed the rescue and the battle that came after. It's nice to see so many of the characters actually using their brains too. I was glad that Aura finally broke down and told Donovan her whole truth shortly after he got her back because I hate when that gets dragged on for so long. These two still have a long way to go before they can really be happy together, but until then they'll make due in Aura's cell.

I did kind of think that this prophecy type thing that comes up had to do with Aura considering the Bogeyman was so fixated on her, but I guess that's not the case? Maybe? That's not really explained enough but we do know that because of it we need to get the ruling brother back and fast.

I really did get into this story and am definitely looking forward to the next. But unless I read it wrong and did not, in fact, see it saying the next would be out in 2025....there's no way I'm going to remember to look for it.

This was a short enchanting read about forbidden love in the fae world. It was captivating blend of romance, fantasy, and adventure. This story offers up several different tropes ranging from unrequited love to touch her and die. I love the relationship between Auralia and Donovan's characters; they have intense chemistry and I loved seeing the relationship develop. The world-building was great, and I felt the descriptions really brought the fae realm to life. The attention to detail made me feel immersed in the world. While this is the second book it can be read as a standalone just fine; I hadn't read the first and didn't feel like I was missing any key information.

Thanks to NetGalley and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
