Stealing the Bogeyman’s Bride by the author was a quick but spicy dark fae romance building out the authors unique fae world. Even though it’s a novella, I thought the pacing was good and the characters were well established. It was an interesting take on fae mates and I look forward to reading more in this world and meeting the other characters she’s written about!

This was a fun read that had me hooked from the dedication. If there's anything that can really set a good tone- it's a dedication. Monroe nailed that for this book.

"To everyone who needs to angle their book so passerbys don't clutch their pearls so hard they hurt their hand."

And then we get into the 'prologue' which is really just a very helpful list of world lore. I love that this was included. It's important to have some context to what you're reading.

And then we get into the story.

It was a fun story. It entertained me. Was it the greatest thing in the world? no. But it did the job.

The characters weren't the most well written, but at the end of the day I was still able to get lost in the world.

I read Stealing the Bogeyman's Bride in one sitting and I'm glad that I did read it.

“Stealing the Bogeyman’s Bride” is the second novella in the Faetales novella series. It’s kinda what you’d expect from a short story called “Stealing the Bogeyman’s Bride,” to be honest. I read it as a standalone without reading book one, since the author said they can stand apart, but I did feel like that I was missing crucial context the entire time. It follows two fae who are either too stubborn, too patient, and/or too trapped to admit their feelings to each other. I can’t say much more without spoilers.

This novella includes:
- cursed fae
- demons
- fated mates
- friends to lovers

I felt that the writing was chaotic and the characters were one dimensional. I think the idea is that this books is more of an erotic appetizer, but the smut was also chaotic and difficult to follow. I have enjoyed many raunchy, fantasy short stories like this one, so I was disappointed that this one really didn’t land for me.

I received this ebook as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher.

If you are looking for a quick, fun, steamy fantasy romance this book is for you. I enjoyed the banter between Auralia and Donovan and I was invested in their relationship and their friends. I also really enjoyed that the book just jumped right into the action and the romance, sometimes I can get a bit impatient for relationships to build up and need something that is already established. I liked how it was brought up that both characters had multiple partners within their relationship, I thought it was a unique detail and I liked that even with having multiple partners they still cared for each other and their lovers. If I had to add or change anything I would have liked a little bit more softness between Auralia and Donovan mixed in with all that spice and see them be gentle and loving with each other outside of sex and a life-threatening situation. 4/5 stars, this book was a quick, enjoyable, steamy read and I had fun reading it!

I don’t think this book was for me. There was no plot, the main characters barely had any chemistry, and the story was not well flushed out. I understand that it’s a novella, but they can still be written properly.

Read the first one so sassy and sexy! the second one don’t disappoint short, gripping and efficient ..can’t wait to hear the next chapters of the story!
Great fantasy world and developed characters with interesting back stories on top of the erotica ;)

This was a thrilling and spicy unseelie story following our foursome from Book one, The Springfest Sprint. Auralia has been keeping a secret regarding what happened to the previous king. To safeguard her friends and her secret, Auralia knows she must leave with the Bogeyman.

Donovan has always been attracted to Auralia, but lately it seems as if there connection might be something even deeper. He will do anything to save Auralia and bring her home where she belongs.

I loved this dark faerie romance and following the developments in the Unseelie kingdom. If you love faerie tales with spice, this book delivers!

A story that keeps you glued to it no matter what time of day or night it is. Plenty of romance, suspense, and hot alpha males to keep you going!

mmmmmm interesting book! I haven't read the first book of the series but this book can easily stand alone! the story is nice and provocative but too much terminology for such a short story. The writing is a bit confusing as while reading about something the characters are suddenly sexually involved with no transition point to that, so there were times I had to jump back to check when did that happen/started?? If you are into this kind of stories then go for it! I personally wasn't impressed to finish it in one go, it didn't create that excitement for me.

Such a fun, short read with actual depth. I'm not sure how the author managed to fit so much in such a short book without it feeling overwhelming but she did. Can't wait to read more from her in the future

I did enjoy this book and read it pretty fast! Jumping into this magical world was exciting but I did get confused at times, I would recommend reading the first book to get a better understanding of the world and the dynamics of the characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed the spice scenes and believe they were written really well. I do wish we could have gotten a little bit more chemistry from Aurelia and Donovan to understand them a bit more. I also would have liked a bit more on the bogeyman, just more of a back story on his relationship with Aurelia and who he is rather than he just a villain.

For my first time being introduced to this author and magical world they have created I would like to say I am interested in the next book in the series and reading the first one. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book and give my option.

Auralia finds herself ensnared in a heart-wrenching predicament, entangled with a husband who ensnared her under false pretenses. Her heart, however, belongs to Donovan, an Unseelie Fae, and yet the weight of her concealed secrets prevents their union. Even as circumstances pull them apart, their love refuses to wane, and Donovan is resolute in his mission to liberate Auralia from the clutches of the Bogeyman who has coerced her back into his realm.

“Stealing the Bogeyman’s Bride” by Georgie Manroe is a good short story. It is fine as a stand-alone because I did not read the first book but still understood everything that happened in the book. I like the spiciness of it and the characters. I do wish the book was a little bit longer but wasn’t actually upset about it. 4 out of 5 stars.

This Novella was written perfectly! It's action packed, in depth details, spice, and magic packed into 200ish pages!!

I didn't read the 1st book in the trilogy and you can read this as a stand alone, but I suggest reading the 1st book if you can.

I'm looking forward to the 3rd book!!

Thank you to Netgalley and Georgie Monroe for the opportunity to to read this ARC. My thoughts are my own!

This books description and note to the reader is perfect. Short and sweet and full of fantasy spice 🌶️🌶️.

Although this book is apart of a series, each one can be a standalone. I feel like I would definitely love to read the other books and get a better grasp of this world, there isn’t a lot of room for a full blown world in just 100ish pages!

If you love friends to lovers, fates mates, the dark god, kidnapping tropes then this is for you! Well done for such a short read, it went perfectly with a cup of tea and a warm blanket on a cloudy day!

After having read the first fae novellette I had no idea Donovan and Auralia's story could be so beautifully complicated. This is just a novella but first of all it's beautifully written, the plot was unexpected in its complexity but one that I have enjoyed very much.

I got incredibily attached to these characters in such a few seconds that it's going to be difficult to wait for book 3. These characters are loyal to a fault, they are supportive and friendships and relationships are an important aspect of this novelette.

Donovan's possessiveness was a turn on and Auralia's apparent detachment to it was so good that anybody fell for it. Everything she did and endured to protect her friends and people she loved was heartbreaking. And the way the story turned out really was chef's kiss!

Auralia and Donovan share a fiery attraction, but she was tricked into marrying a cunning Boggart who forces her to spill court secrets.

This one-night novelette is the perfect mix of a simple, tension-building plot with a dash of spice. It’s the second book in the Faetales series, and while it can be read as a standalone, it might be worth starting from the beginning. I personally read it as a standalone and found the initial context helpful. I didn't feel lost, but it was like stepping into the middle of an ongoing story without a strong connection to the characters.

Thank you to NetGalley, One Night Reads and Georgie Monroe for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I devoured this novella! The background information in the beginning was really useful, a little overwhelming but when you get into the story it was a massive help.
I did find that I struggled to understand the dynamic to begin with between Auralia and Bogen but I pushed through and it made sense the further along you go.
The spice! Oooo so good! Perfect amount and super steamy!
Thoroughly enjoyed this read!

When I got a hint of Aura's and Donovan's relationship at the end of the first book, I had no idea it was going to be this complicated and in-depth. For a novella series, this is an incredibly well thought out world. I loved these characters, I loved the tension, and I loved the loyalty even in the most questionable of circumstances. Donovan's dominant protectiveness over Auralia was probably my favorite part and what I found to be the most sexy. So, so good. I'm definitely looking forward to the next one!

Stealing the Boogeyman's Bride was a steamy little romantasy that takes place in a fairy world filled with polyamory and haunting characters.

Perfect for ACOTAR fans, this novella delves deep into the faerie world, but the author is kind enough to give a little recap of the first book and the world's rules at the beginning. While I think the reading experience would be enriched by having read the first book, it wasn't necessary. Overall, it was a quick, interesting read to transition me between books and the MMC and FMC were a great enemies to lovers pairing!

Many thanks to NetGalley and One Night Reads for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

2.5 stars

Aurelia is a unseelie faery with a dark past, and a husband who has decided to claim her at long last. He's a bogeyman, hoping to create a child with her that should be especially magical. Donovan, another fae, is desperately in love with her. Can he convince Aurelia to trust him before it's too late?

This story is book two of the Faetales series, but says it can be read as a standalone. I appreciated the explanations front-loaded at the start of the book. I was glad to have an understanding of the events, but I realized my issue was that I didn't have a connection to the characters. I still felt like I was coming in the middle of a story. There was a LOT of spice, even at odd times, which distracted from the plot, in my opinion. The plot also frequently relied on long drawn-out conversations about events (probably?) from the first novella.

The world building was interesting. The plot was creative. But overall it fell flat. Perhaps someone who read the first novella would have a better experience! :o)

I'd like to thank One Night Reads, LLC, and Netgalley for the eARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
