4.5 stars!

This was my first read by Denise Hunter. I really loved her writing style and sense of humor. Chloe is an author who is having her book turned into a movie. Liam is an actor who will play the leading man. Chloe doesn’t want Liam for her perfect fictional male character she created because of his bad reputation, but she learns after meeting him that everything in the tabloids isn’t true. Including the newest news that her and Liam are dating! This leads to them fake dating to help his reputation and help her movie and social media status. But the more time they spend together the more the lines of real vs fake blur together. I really liked both of these characters. They are both very caring and kind people. They do have a little bit of trust issues but otherwise great. I was a little disappointed that there was no Christian content, except one line of prayer, considering this is labeled as Christian Fiction. However, I still really enjoyed this story!

Content: kisses, shirtless scene where she tries not to notice, a couple times where she sits on his lap

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I simply adored this novel! The celebrity romance trope is a favorite of mine and this book had many of the things that make this trope one that I have so much fun reading. I loved the way Liam and Chloe connected. Their “meet cute” before they even met in person was priceless and set things up for them to be wonderfully awkward when they actually did meet.

I felt like I connected with these characters right from the beginning of the story. They were wounded by the actions of people who should have loved them forever. It impacted them and did end up causing problems for their relationship.

I loved seeing the way Liam opened up with Chloe. It was great to see them together, actually enjoying themselves and connecting with each other. I rejoiced with them in moments of happiness and my heart hurt when theirs did.

I loved this book from start to finish. It is now my favorite novel by this author and these characters are ones that I can’t stop thinking about.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I laughed.

I cried.

I smiled big.

I ugly sobbed.

And I very much wished these people were real.

Denise Hunter delivers another delightful read with Love, Unscripted. A stand alone novel, Love, Unscripted is set in a small Atlantic beach town and tells the story of a bestselling book author and the man chosen to be the hero in the movie. Author Chloe has a difficult past that has influenced all of her relationships. As she uncovers more about herself throughout the story she also falls more in love with actor Liam, who is playing the "perfect book boyfriend" in her book turned movie. Both characters have depth to them, and we follow their journey of discovering more about themselves so that they can be more open to one another. A perfect beach read, Love, Unscripted, is a clean romance that will keep you up to the last page. Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for a free e-copy of this book. Another great inspirational story by this author.
I always enjoy her writing because I feel as though I can visualize the places the people live based on the descriptions this author writes. I always feel the characters are well developed and the relationships have normal lives that I can connect with as I read. I also ennui the ending of her stories because they are uplifting and encouraging and in the works we live in today we need this encouragement.
Thanks for the advanced copy.

I love Denise Hunter and in some words we are friends. The book follows Chloe who writes this delactable book that gets commissioned into a movie with one of Hollywood's biggest stars-Liam. Initially, she can't stand him because he is known as a player and reliable. To make her movie not flop they agree to 'work together'. It made me mad somewhat but it was a beautiful story. I loved it! The sibling love and protection, the way the author tackled alcoholism, parents separation was well written.

I just adored Chloe, Liam and Buttercup!

Fun, sweet, romantic story by Denise Hunter. Love her stories! Chloe is an author who's book was picked up to become a movie. She's very protective of the leading male character in the story and was disappointed to find out what actor was protraying him in the movie. Until she gets to know him better! The side characters are awesome, too - I loved her brother's storyline, too.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC.

Love, Unscripted by Denise Hunter is an amazing read that keeps you entertained the whole way through the story. I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. You’ll be rooting for Chloe through the entire story, she’s so likable and sweet. Liam has a whole other side of himself that will completely surprise you.

This was a clean, swoon-worthy story between an author and the actor portraying her leading man in a movie adaptation. The dynamic between Chole and Liam felt real without being over the top.

One of my favorite authors is @denisehunter and I will read anything she writes! Thank you @tnzfiction for my early copy of her newest novel, LOVE, UNSCRIPTED.

This novel follows Chloe, an author who is experiencing a wave of fame from her recent novel where she penned the perfect boyfriend. This novel has been opted for a film and Liam Hamilton, Hollywood's bad boy has been cast as the hero.

In this forced-proximity, fake dating novel, I could NOT put it down. I loved how Liam worked to win Chloe over, I loved how Chloe fought for what she wanted to see in the character, and I just loved the quiet, quaint North Carolina town, so far from Hollywood where Liam could be truly himself.

If you love quick, easy beach reads, you will love Chloe and Liam’s story!

The newest Denise Hunter book did not disappoint! It’s everything we all love about her books - relatable, likable, and well-developed characters; heartwarming storyline; an ending that just makes you feel good. The end of her books are predictable, yes, but the path to get there isn’t, and that’s what makes her stories so good. I am also thankful for women’s fiction that isn’t full of explicit scenes and foul language! Definitely recommend this one if you need a feel-good read.

Such a sweet and feel good love story. This book pulls you in from the start and doesn't let go. The storyline was really fun and entertaining. The chemistry was great between LIam and Chloe and there were plenty of charming and heartfelt moments. Beautifully written, inspirational and uplighting.. I enjoyed everything about this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley.

Well, Chloe can't seem to find the perfect boyfriend, so she wrote a novel about one. It was a big seller! Now, it's being made into a movie in her hometown! Imagine when the male lead was given to an actor she considers a big jerk. Absolutely opposite from the perfect man in her story. Liam is a womanizer. Not knowing the phone was on speaker and he was sitting next to the producer when she calls Chloe to tell her who got the lead male role, Chloe let it all out about how she felt about him playing the part. Oh, imagine her embarrassment!
She soon learns, the hard way, that everything written about you in the tabloids and social media is not true. In fact, it can be far far from the truth. But, many believe what they read about a person. Chloe soon realized that Liam was nothing like what she'd read and expected. He really needed his public image to change. Chloe needed a social 'following' to help sales.
So, a plan is hatched for them to pretend to be a couple. Guess what happened? I'm not going to spoil it for you. Very sweet story with a happy ending.
I was given an advanced ecopy by the publisher, Thomas Nelson through Netgalley. I was under no obligation to write a positive review.

3.75⭐️ This is the second book I have read by Denise Hunter, and I am starting to see why people enjoy reading her books. She is a fabulous writer, that conveys heartfelt stories in dreamy locations. This small, North Carolina coastal town is no exception.

Chloe and Liam were both lovable characters that had a lot of growth and development. Which we love to see. Liam is a misunderstood man with a big heart, and I loved him from the beginning. Even though he is painted in an unsavory light. Chloe is very sweet and kind of dorky, which makes her charming. I thought their "meet-cute" was hilarious, and it kind of kicked off an understanding of both of them. There were also some less lovable characters. Her brother, for example, can stuff it. He bothered me to no end, but you get a better understanding and it makes sense. But still. No.

Setting the characters aside, I did enjoy the plot, cause who doesn’t love fake dating? But I just felt like this book progressed very slowly, and I wish we got more on page moments of Liam and Chloe together. The moments they spent together were talked about, like a summary, and at times, a couple days or weeks went by. I wish we actually got to spend those moments with them, because those help us understand their connection and growing attraction.

There was also miscommunication, which led to a 3rd act break-up that I thought was unnecessary. Miscommunication is my least favorite thing in books. It leads to the characters behaving uncharacteristically, and it bothers me. With that said, I understand why Chloe reacted in that way, but they both knew better.

Ultimately, it was a light read. Very wholesome and heart-warming, and I enjoyed reading it.

I recommend reading this if you enjoy:
- Fake dating
- Celebrity romance
- Forced proximity
- Small town

Chloe Anderson has a writer’s dream come true when her book is going to be made into a movie. The only problem is the lead man is Liam Hamilton, a man who couldn’t be further from her ideal main character. He’s always seen with a different woman and can’t seem to make a commitment to a relationship. When Chloe finds out about the casting of the character via a phone call she lets everyone know what she thinks of him. What follows is embarrassing, awkward, and a bit funny, setting up the relationship between Chloe and Liam.

I enjoyed seeing Liam and Chloe change as they both learn to trust each other. They have valid reasons to be wary of any kind of commitment, but the more they are together, the more the come to see what is real love and what is not. Readers of clean romance will enjoy this story.

Favorite quote:
“Where are you gonna call home, Liam?” another reporter called.
“Wherever Chloe is.”

This is a new author for me, and I must say, I really loved this book. Liam and Chloe had alot of chemistry, I found myself laughing throughout the story. I usually like some steamy scenes in my romance books, but I loved the way the author worked around how these two characters found love and gave the reader what they wanted, classy love without the heat. Great backdrop for the story, definitely kept my interest.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

Why I chose this book: I enjoy Denise Hunter stories. I can count on them for sweet romance with solid storylines.

Type of Book: Contemporary Christian Romance

Favorite Quotes/Characters: What a fantastic opening line: "In a world where surprises were not always the good kind, Chloe Anderson knew she'd better savor the moment."
And then there's this one: "...they can't know you until you open yourself to them and show them who you are." Ah...so true.

Overall: I love the tension that Denise is able to weave into her stories. The looks. The glances. The narrowed eyes. The questions the characters ask themselves as they grow. The struggles they recognize in themselves. Expert. The conflict rises and falls, creating fluid pacing. Here is a writing secret: know your characters so well that you will naturally have great dialogue and organic conflict. Denise Hunter has nailed that once again.

Bookshelf worthy? Yes.

Teenability: I would say this would be older-teen to adult romance.
