I really enjoyed this book which was a favorite trope of mine, enemies to lovers. The characters were well written. The small town setting is another favorite of mine. The storyline was fun and kept me enthralled throughout. Once I started this book, I didn't stop until the last page.

I loved this book. The characters are fun but flawed, and there is some solid character development throughout the story. The plot is entertaining - a debut novel that is going to be made into a movie with the lead male character being played by an actor with the wrong reputation. There are some true laugh out loud moments which offset some of the serious personal family issues both main characters have to deal with.
This is listed as Christian fiction, but God is barely mentioned so I would consider this more clean romance.
Recommended for anyone looking for a great beach read.
Family friendly.

Great beach read! An easy read, with likeable characters. Chloe had the image of the perfect guy for leading part in the movie created from her best selling novel. Liam was the exact opposite in her mind. Sparks fly when Chloe and Liam meet but not the good kind. With both having past hurts, there are many ups and downs in this enjoyable story. Recommended.

This was another nice romantic book by this author. Every book I’ve read by her has been good.
It was probably a bit predictable but a good story nonetheless the less. Perfect to loose yourself in
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy

Even though I pretty much knew from the beginning what the outcome would be, I loved this book. Chloe is so down to earth and good. Liam is misunderstood and wants to be seen in a new light. I loved their first 'meeting' over the phone and the first meeting in person. So many great moments in this book. This is a sweet romance that will leave you feeling uplifted.

Denise Hunter novels make me happy. I loved some more than others and this novel is definitely in the “love much” pile. There’s something about Liam that totally drew me in - maybe I was googly-eyed over his star status. Or maybe I was won over by his down-to-earth and normal personality, not to mention his swoon-worthy romantic heart though he tries really hard not to fall in love.
And Chloe is so lovable and incredibly cute. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud every time she did something embarrassing or corny. Her best friend and her brother were fun supporting characters and I wish they could have gotten their own book.
It’s a perfect beach read that will have you sighing in contentment by the end. I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Thomas Nelson via NetGalley and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

This was a fun read about two people from very different worlds thrown together under false pretenses. Liam is an actor and Chloe is an author whose book is being made into a movie with Liam as the star. He is cast as the perfect man that Chloe has created. Liam has a bit of a "bad boy" image breaking hearts that his manager wants to change. Liam and Chloe enter into an agreement to have a "fake" relationship to improve Liam's image and to give Chloe the creative control over the image that Liam projects on screen as Chloe's perfect man. This plan backfires on them in many different ways. This book is about forgiveness, betrayal, second chances and unlikely love. I received a complimentary copy of this book but wasn't required to leave a review.

The main character Chloe pinned down a hero in her novel every reader loved. I felt Denise Hunter did the same with Liam. He had his bad reputation and struggles, but he made my heart soft without trying – his quirkiness, and caring heart just broke down any barriers.
Chloe, with her tendency to say things before she thinks caused for interesting interactions between her and Liam, but also caused some misunderstandings.
Though the misunderstandings and miscommunication did frustrate me, the back story of both Liam and Chloe, their past hurts which lead so some series insecurities and fears, made this not just feel like the same romance plot, but real issues real couples need to work through.
Fans of Denise Hunter will not be disappointed, and readers who enjoy contemporary romance stories will close this book with a smile remaining on their face.

Love Unscripted is a sweet romance of convenience. Liam needs to prepare his Hollywood bad boy reputation while Chloe needs to make sure he doesn't mess up bringing her perfect hero to life. In order to accomplish both goals, she reluctantly agrees to a fake relationship with him. You can imagine how the story goes. What I loved about this story is that both Liam and Chloe have a background that makes them reluctant to fully give their heart to another. Chloe pulls back and Liam won't let himself go there. Yet with each other, for the first time, the risk feels like it might be worth it. There's the usual round of challenges and reasons to force them a part, but because this is a Denise Hunter romance, the characters and community are so richly drawn it kept me engaged from the beginning. I truly enjoyed this novel and recommend it to those who are looking for a romance that will fulfill the promise of a Happily Ever After while surviving bumps along the road.

Writing a book is no easy task but Chloe Anderson releases her first book, Beneath the Summer Skies. With each day, week, she watches as the sales grow. It seems like overnight when Simone, a movie producer from LA calls to speak with her about the possible production of a film based on the book. To top it off, the movie is set to be shot in Stillwater Bay, North Carolina, her hometown. Chloe could not help but think about the players; who would be cast in the featured roles? When all the actors, directors, and many, many assorted staff had arrived on set she was excited but a bit overwhelmed about Liam Hamilton, the star who was picked to play the lead, Ledger Ford. He was quite the actor; good looking, tall, blue eyes yet a Hollywood player. She would have picked a more down to earth performer.
Love Unscripted will be published by Thomas Nelson of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Inc on March 12, 2024. I was able to read the ARC of Denise Hunter’s latest novel via NetGalley. I appreciate Thomas Nelson allowing me to read and review Hunter’s new book. I have read all of her work and always enjoyed it. Love Unscripted is a delightful romantic story that depicts the journey of an actor and writer from book to film. It shows the hassles, problems, and wonderful scenes that lead to the courtship of the lead characters. Along the way there are doubts and secrets that need to be settled. It is a fun read. I highly encourage Hunter’s readers as well as those who are new to her novels to read Love Unscripted. Do enjoy!

Chloe Anderson is a debut author. She has written a book about the perfect man and it is selling like hot cakes. It has also been picked up to be made into a movie. Liam Hamilton is an A-list actor with a dubious reputation. He has been chosen as a last resort. From the moment they meet, sparks are flying. She doesn't want him on the film and he is determined to win her over. Little did she realize the bargain she was making. It was the Summer of falling in love. Real life has a way of testing you. You fail and you win. In the end, love wins
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

After a bad breakup, Chloe Anderson puts pen to paper and creates the perfect boyfriend in a heart wrenching romance, that leads to the production of major motion picture. However, the lead male character turns out to be Liam Hamilton, a man known to be everything that she does not want. Yet when Chloe makes this abundantly clear to the executive producer during a phone call, little does she know that Liam is listening in. With Liam’s reputation already on the rocks, his agent concocts a PR plan to upgrade Liam’s image while putting the story—and the film—in the spotlight. Liam and Chloe will fake a committed relationship which will not only benefit him but will boost Chloe’s struggling social media following. Yet as they spend time together, their arrangement soon turns to friendship and a budding relationship. Yet the reality of life in the spotlight soon raises its ugly head, leaving Liam and Chloe uncertain of their future.
I found this an interesting storyline with both Liam and Chloe bringing their past into their relationship and attempting to work through this. As each character revealed their struggles, I could see them developing a closer relationship. This was a connection where each person gradually thought more of the other than themselves, making for a sweet romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I didn't know I had a least favorite romcom trope until the fake celebrity dating plots started proliferating everywhere. Even the fantastic writing of Denise Hunter wasn't enough for me on this occasion. Not a bad book, just not my favorite.
I received an advanced review copy of this book via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

An enjoyable romance, there's depth to the story. It's about 2 people who have been hurt by family who then have to wade through the issues that go with it, trust in themselves and others, self discovery, realizations that appearances can be deceiving and that just because something looks bad, doesn't mean it really is if one doesn't know the whole story, standing up for what is right. Beautifully written and really enjoyable to read.
I received an ARC copy from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

4.75 stars rounded up!
this was such a joy to listen to today! i had the best time with this book. i felt immersed in the setting of the sweet beach town Stillwater Bay in the first chapter. i have nothing bad to say about this book, the only reason why it’s not a full 5 stars is totally a me thing and i just didn’t get that special feeling.

Denise Hunter has long been one of my favorite authors, and Love, Unscripted was one of my most anticipated 2024 releases. I'm happy to say this lovely and sweet contemporary did not disappoint, and I continue to adore reading "bookish" books.
Readers follow Chloe Anderson, who after a bad breakup decided to pen a romance novel, and create the perfect book boyfriend. Of course, other women are in need of this perfect boyfriend themselves, and her book quickly becomes a bestseller. This character means the world to Chloe, and she's horrified when she learns that the movie adaptation has cast Hollywood playboy Liam Hamilton to portray her beloved book hero. To say Chloe and Liam get off to a rocky start would be an understatement, but his manager has a brilliant plan. Pretend the two of them are dating to improve Liam's image, and help Chloe gain a larger social media following. Only it soon appears to everyone including themselves that Chloe and Liam's relationship is no longer the fake dating one it was supposed to be.
Sometimes I stumble upon a rare book that seems to have combined all of my favorite reading tropes into one wonderful story, and that was definitely the case here. Chloe was a protagonist that was easy to root for, and I loved how heartbreak has basically caused her to shelter her heart, and look entirely to fiction for her romance. Liam and Chloe's relationship was truly swoon worthy and beautiful, and I loved as a reader getting to watch each other break through the walls they'd so carefully crafted around their hearts. While this story definitely had its whimsical moments, I appreciated how it also dived into some deeper topics that made a good story even better, and showcased Denise Hunter's beautiful talent for the written word.
Final Rating: 4/5.
It wholeheartedly lived up to my expectations, and I'd love to see this adapted into a made for TV movie someday.
Thanks so much to Thomas Nelson for allowing me to read and review this title!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher (Thomas Nelson) via NetGalley. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.

Once again the author writes a wonderful romance story. Set in small town Stillwater Bay, SC. Where first time author Chloe Culpepper not only writes a bestseller, but it has been picked up for a movie. She does have some say in the production and is striving for perfection. Of course her book is about the perfect boyfriend and when playboy actor Liam Hamilton gets the leading role of Ledger, Chloe flips out! Of course Liam overhears her rant and sets out to prove her wrong, but he needs to clean up his image. Mostly undeserved thanks to the media.
Arriving a week early to get the lay of the land, Liam runs into Chloe. Sparks sizzle, but he is all wrong for the role of Ledger. Trying to improve his image there are suggestions that he finds a steady love interest and Chloe fits the bill.
Both have trust issues from their childhood which still is a problem now. As they get to know each other better things change, but there are most obstacles to overcome.
Love the journey of Chloe and Liam! Would love to see their story make into a movie. Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #LoveUnscripted

A wonderful story in true Denise Hunter fashion, that depicts the importance of trust and communication in a relationship. Especially when the two people have damaged pasts that have shaped every relationship they've had as adults.
What starts as an experiment to help boost Liam's online image, progresses to so much more for two adults who don't feel they're worth loving. Our family has such an impact on how we interpret love and what we deserve. The characters were soot on and the story evokes empathy in the reader.
Although I received a free ARC ebook from Net Galley and the publisher, all thought and opinions are my honest feedback.

Love Unscripted, by Denise Hunter, is a fun story to read. It is well written, easy to imagine and hard to put down. While Chloe writes a book with the perfect man in mind, the actor, Liam, that plays the part is far from what she imagined. When she agrees to a pretend relationship, she is not prepared for what really happens.
I enjoyed how a normal person can write a book that quickly rises to the charts and becomes a movie. I found it interesting to real some of the facts about producing a movie as well as how a person’s reputation could affect his roles in them. I especially enjoyed the parts that tell of Chloe’s family background and how it affected her and her brother. This is a heart warming story to read that drew me in right from the beginning and held my attention to the very end.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

Chloe Anderson has penned the perfect boyfriend into a bestseller and a movie. Unfortunately, Chloe believes movie actor Liam Hamilton is the antithesis of that man. Most of the women that Liam has dated are out for something and he rarely dates a woman more than once. The stories that the paparazzi are writing about him are affecting his image and his career. His agent proposes a fake dating relationship with Chloe to update his image. I receive a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I love how down to earth Chloe is and how she starts to see the real Liam. I really love this story.
