I love the way this author strings together a story. It’s always so fast paced with a perfect blend of mystery and suspense. This one is no different. Missing people? A cruise ship? Break downs in trust? Yes please.

Kiersten never disappoints. I listened to this audiobook a while back in one sitting.
It captured my attention right from the beginning.
This could have been a solid 5 stars for me but I found certain parts too unbelievable.

You Can Trust Me was a very entertaining read. The book's main character, Mae, is given a surprise for her birthday by her husband Blake and her best friend Florence. Expecting a simple get together in the town she visited as a young girl- Mae is told that the three of them, and Florence's new boyfriend, are instead going on a cruise-- on half a day's notice! But like the castaways on Gilligan's Island who set sail for a three-hour cruise that turned into anything but, their seven-day cruise turned into a harrowing adventure. Disappearances, a stranger who seemed to know Mae, international smugglers and lots of plot twists will keep you interested from start to finish.

wow. wow. wow. the unreliable narrators, the twists and turns, just everything about this was amazing. I love modeling books and this one is no exception.

When I need a quick binge worthy read Kiersten Modglin is my go to popcorn thriller author.

You Can Trust Me takes place on a couples cruise where everything isn’t as it seems. I loved this one all the way up the end. That’s where it fell flat. I still think it was a solid 4 ⭐️ read.

I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narration.

We all know Kiersten Modglin is the queen of thrillers - honestly HOW DOES she write so fast. Every one of them is so darn fun to read too.

I listened to this one on audio and once I started I didn’t want to stop listening until the mystery was solved.

The characters were not very well likeable - but they weren’t unlikeable either, they were kind of just there, not quite developed. The story was as fun and the red herrings really kept be guessing.

A solid quick read/listen if you are looking for a summer read.

This isn't in my favorites or popcorn thrillers or of the author's books, but I did enjoy the listen. Personally I think her books are much more enjoyable as an audiobook than an eyeball read.

This one started out so strong, but the ending felt a little rushed and implausible. But I did like it and will pick up another by the author. I love that it was quick, grabbed me from the start and was twisty.

I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

The problem with Kiersten Modglin books is you can't say much about them without giving away too much of the enjoyment of the series. Let's just say that I didn't expect this story to go where it did or end how it ended. Also this author is an instant grab for me when I see her books because I know she'll take me for a ride.

This was a fun book! It was really suspenseful and I did not see the ending coming. It was a little outlandish but would be a good vacation read or listen. I received a free copy of this audiobook from netgalley and the publisher in change for my honest review.

Kiersten Modglin books are like addictive candies. I just gobble them up page after page and still end up wanting more. This is yet another page-turning (or in this case, audibly delicious) addictive twisty suspense-filled roller coaster ride that you will finish in one or two sittings and then immediately go to the authors back catalogue for more!

As a HUGE Kiersten Modglin fan, I just have to read every single book she comes out with. And there are quite a LOT!! This one was very good, but not my favorite of hers. I enjoyed the story and it kept my interest, but she has much better reads than this one. I am not a big cruise fan (terrified of the whole experience), and this just solidifies my feelings about them. The audiobook was so great to listen to. There were different narrators for each character and that really brings the story to life. Highly recommend a listen!!

This audiobook started off as a slow burn for me and it was like that until about half way to three quarters of the way through. Once I got to that far in, the audibook changed pace quickly and became way more interesting. The story of Mae Barlowe is tragic and what her husband and her best friend are trying to do on the anniversary of her brother's death is sweet but a bit ironic in the sense that they chose a cruise.

For the biggest chunk of the book, you are listening to Mae's story and learning about her background and then the struggles they are going through. You are also listening to them exploring the ship. It's not until you get to the tragedy that strikes that things start to become interesting. This is the time when I found myself really paying attention to the story.

The tragedy creates such mystery with it and there is so much going on. I loved how it was hard to predict what was going to happen next or who may be the culprit. I really thought I had it at one point, but boy was I wrong.

The ending was the biggest shocker to me and I did feel like it blew me out of the water more than once. Once you think that everything has been revealed there is just one more thing that comes to light and it is a massive bomb, to say the least. To be quite honest, the ending was probably my favorite part.

I was left wanting to learn more about Mae Barlowe's brother, as he is a fascinating character and has an interesting story.

I quite enjoyed the narration of this book. One thing that makes it really unique is that the narration is not done by one or two narrators, which I feel is the most common, but it is actually done by four: Pete Cross, Laura Jennings, Kelli Tager, Susan C. Hunter. The multiple narrators I felt made it feel like each character was truly unique and had their own personalities brought to life by each narrator's reading.

Rating: I am giving this book a 3.5 star rating because if it was not for that tragedy towards the middle or three quarters of the way through the book, I don't know that I would have finished this or found it very enjoyable. The huge reveals at the end really made the book for me. I do feel like there is more to some of these characters stories that could be told in another book.

Many thanks to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for this review copy. This is my honest opinion.

"You Can Trust Me" is a classic Modglin (yes this is only my third of her books but I feel safe saying this). It features simplistic and easy-to-follow writing and lots of twists and turns throughout the storyline. I must also say that as someone who is going on a cruise in a few months, this was not the story I should be reading. I truly hope that there aren't that many people that go missing from cruise ships.

The story has an unexpected ending that catches the reader off guard. It is a quick read that follows the lives of Blake, Mae, Mae's best friend Florence and her boyfriend. They are in town to commemorate the death of Mae's brother who tragically died in a boating accident when she was two years old. However, Mae's husband and best friend surprise her with a cruise to Mexico instead. Unfortunately, Mae goes missing while on the cruise, and the hunt begins to find out what happened to her. As the search continues, we follow the point of view of Blake and Florence as they discover secrets, imagine life without Mae, and constantly try to outdo the cruise ship's security in their determination to find her.

The story is fast-paced and easy to follow, with a lot of red herrings and secrets. The narration was superb, with a different narrator for each POV, making it easier to follow while listening to the audio. I appreciate that everything was concise and to the point. However, the ending caught me off guard.

This one started off really great. I was engrossed. Couldn't wait to hear more. But then, it just went... bad. Slight spoiler alert, but it turned into a weird Disney version of human trafficking. Completely unbelievable. And the twist at the end just made it even more over the top.

This one was a no for me, so I won't be recommending it.

3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 stars!! This psychological thriller was a good read! Mae lost her brother in a boating accident when she was young and every year she does something special on the anniversary of his death with her parents and best friend, Florence. Mae is recently married to Blake and Florence and Blake surprised Mae with a cruise this year, especially since she her parents are now living in an assisted living facility. Mae is hesitant to go at first but agrees. Their first night on the ship, Florence and Mae hang out together into the early morning and then go back to their respective rooms. The next morning, Blake wakes up and Mae isn’t there. He contacts Florence to see if she came back to the room, Florence says yes and that she should be there. Mae is missing, and they need to find her and find out what happened. There were a lot of twists and turns going on and I never would’ve guessed what actually happened and why!

Great Book! My first KMOD book and I can see why she has such a wide fanbase. This was brilliantly executed. Twists and turns galore the reader never knowing which way to look.
Fantastic narration!! Loved it!

The perfect cruise or the perfect nightmare? This thriller shows that trust is fragile. Appearances are definitely deceiving as secrets are revealed and lives are changed forever. Who do you trust when reality is questioned and lies are abundant? Danger may be closer than imagined and the line between good and evil is blurred. They say “You can trust me”, but can you? The narration added a layer of intrigue and suspense. Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for my audiobook.

i did not enjoy this very much. i didn’t enjoy much of the cruise scenes but i did think the plot twist of her brother was neat although her parents being evil kinda sucked. i think the cover is really pretty but i don’t think the book lived up to my expectations
