I read all of this author's stuff so I was not completely surprised by the ending but I was still surprised. It is so twisty and weird and I love it.
Who thinks like this? Only Kiersten Modglin.
The narration was so wonderful! I listened to this in one go.

Another good one! We slowly learn about Mae’s life and the tragedy she went through as a kid. She goes on a cruise with her husband and friends but soon things go terribly wrong.
As we try to solve each mystery we learn some big secrets! There’s one concept that happens that I didn’t love. I can’t give it away but it ends up getting more explained and even more shocking secrets are revealed.
The ending was shocking and like all other Kiersten’s books, it’s a twist you don’t see coming but still fits with the story!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this audio book ARC opportunity!
This story starts with Mae and her husband attending a cruise with her best friend and best friend’s significant other. This cruise is taking place during an important anniversary in Mae’s life. The story starts and picks up quickly, and I found myself really wanting to find out what happens next. I truly wasn’t sure who was at fault and was intrigued to keep going.
Unfortunately the twist at the end wasn’t entertaining for me, which resulted in the 3 star review. The book was a solid 4 stars until the very end. I did enjoy the quick pace, I liked the best friends character in the book, and I truly wanted to know what happened. The narrators were fantastic- I felt they really showed emotion, did changing voices for characters well and really moved the story along.
All in all this was a good, quick read (listen) that was entertaining and kept me guessing. While I didn’t enjoy the ending I will certainly read more books from this author as I liked the story for the majority of it.

This book was SO fun and had me on the edge of my seat until around 80% when reveals started happening. It just didn’t work for me and I lost interest unfortunately.
That being said, it WAS very addictive up until that point. We have a missing wife aboard a cruise, a shady husband and a mysterious man on board, her best friend in the mix…I was dying to find out what was going on!
This one is short and sweet too! I wouldn’t necessarily not recommend it, I just felt like the twist came out of left field and bored me a bit.

3.5 stars rounded up.
Kiersten Modglin has really become an auto read author for me. She writes a ton of books and while they aren’t mind-blowing, they have all been fast and entertaining reads. This one is no different.
It’s always the husband. Or is it? When Mae was a young child, her brother was killed in boating accident. She and her parents return to the town every year to remember him. Her parents can’t make it this year due to her mother’s health issues, so Mae’s husband and best friend think a cruise will get her mind off of it. Mae goes missing on the cruise and her husband and best friend try to do their own sleuthing to find her.
Super quick read, I was hooked from the beginning. I think parts of it were a little unbelievable but that meant I did not see the twists coming. Would definitely recommend this book as a fast-paced thriller to get you out of a reading slump. The audiobook narrators were great, it was easy to keep up with who’s who.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

What a twisted web that was weaved here! This was a great audio experience and a different plot. I really enjoyed this one. Thank you for the opportunity to read.

This one was broke into four parts and I agree with other viewers who thought that part 2 is a little slow but that the rest were fast-paced. I definitely didn't see this one playing out the way it did. Kiersten does a great job of misleading you into thinking one conclusion one when it's usually the complete opposite. Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love KMod…I just need to throw that out there. I was really enjoying this book until the end. It felt like the twist was just thrown in there at the end without any plot development. I don’t like when books have twists just for the sake of having a twist. In my opinion, this one ruined the whole story. It barely made any sense. Overall this one missed the mark in both character development and plot development.
The narrators were great and kept my attention.
Thank you to the author and Dreamscape media for the opportunity to listen to this ARC.

A woman goes missing on a cruise ship. A great premise and well-developed characters make You Can Trust Me a story full of suspense. For the first half of the book, the reader does not know whether Mae is alive. It is when that question is answered is when the seas get rough. This is a solid thriller with a major twist at the end. I listened to it in one day. Kudos to the narrator who did a wonderful job.

In my experience listening to this book, the initial chapters held a certain allure that drew me in. The narrator's voice brought the story to life, adding depth to the characters and creating a vivid atmosphere. As the plot unfolded, I was taken on a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. While some of these twists felt a bit implausible, the narrator's skill kept me engaged, even during moments of disbelief.
Character connection was a bit challenging through audio alone. Despite the narrator's efforts to convey emotions and motivations, I found it harder to fully invest in the characters' experiences without the visual cues from a written format. However, the fast-paced nature of the story and the narrator's engaging delivery kept me hooked, urging me to continue listening.
As I approach the conclusion, there's a sense of anticipation mingled with curiosity. I'm eager to see how the story wraps up, hoping that the final chapters will provide a satisfying resolution to the mysteries introduced earlier. While the audio format presented certain challenges in character connection, the overall listening experience was still enjoyable, offering a unique perspective on the narrative twists and turns.

This was a fast read and I gobbled it up. I did how for a bit more from the ending though but it was a good one

Another twisty turny suspense from Kiersten Modglin. This one had me guessing from the start until the bitter end, and still left my jaw hanging with that epilogue.
The audio was really well done, I liked both narrators a lot and thought they did a wonderful job embodying these characters.
I really liked Blake and Florence, I enjoyed being in their heads and wondering if they were telling the truth or if they were unreliable... It was certainly a rollercoaster with each new piece of evidence that showed up.

This had me hooked from start to finish! The plot is like a turbulent cruise ride, full of twists and surprises that left me guessing at every turn. Mae's emotional journey and the eerie atmosphere on the cruise added a layer of suspense that kept me invested in the story.
Modglin weaves a complex web of trust and deception among the characters, making you question the motives of each one. The mysterious stranger's presence casts an intriguing shadow over the story, and I couldn't stop listening until I unraveled the truth.
"Sun, sand, and secrets await on this cruise to die for" indeed! If you love a thrilling page-turner with a dose of psychological suspense, then this is a must-read. 🌴🚢🔍

Oh I really liked this one. It was well written, possibly one of Kierstens best stories.
Basically, this couple goes on a cruise with a friend and the woman goes missing and then all kinds of family drama starts to unravel.
One thing I did notice is that some of the characters feel underdeveloped. I feel like there was at least one character that was given a lot of attention and then nothing happens with him. Like, what was the point of his character then?
Anyways, the story flows really well so I was interested the entire time. The audio was great.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to listen to an early copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
You Can Trust Me by Kiersten Modglin was...fine. It was a fine book. The narrarators were great and the story was quick, but there is really nothing that stands out in my opinion. If you want a book to read quickly, something to listen to in the background while you do other things, this is a great option.

I find myself in the group of readers who must read every Modglin book written (and there's a lot. This woman writes faster than I can complete a cycle of laundry from wash to fold to put away). Unsurprisingly, not every Modglin book is a success, yet here I am still reading.
You Can Trust Me is one of those books which immediately intrigued, then wrapped up with such an unbelievable plot that it left me unsatisfied. I hate books where, voila, the ending is explained. Summarized. Told to us that because of A, B happened. The end.
This one had so much potential - two couples who embark on a cruise and one of the women disappears. Side note: the cruise industry will not carry this book on its ship's libraries. Characters could have been fleshed out, intrigue could have been crafted to put us on the ship with them, and maybe, just maybe, make it more believable so we don't have to turn off our brains to accept the premise. I find it hard to believe a passenger DISAPPEARS and the Captain, security, crew just ho-hum along and the spouse and best friend have to become Scooby and Shaggy and solve the mystery.
On audio the group of narrators, Pete Cross, Laura Jennings, Kelli Tager and Susan C. Hunter did an excellent job of moving the story along. It was easy to keep track of characters, and no effort is required on the part of the listener to keep up.
Will I read the next Modglin which probably comes out in the next 8 minutes? You betcha. Is that an indicator the author has created a successful career and will continue to write? Yup.

I love k-mod books because they are NEVER predictable!
Mae goes on vacation with her husband and best friend Florence. She goes to the spot where she lost her brother Danny. This year her husband and Florence have changed things up instead of just sitting on the beach they have booked a surprise cruise for both couples. Florence is there with her new boyfriend Patton.
Someone on board the ship is asking about Mae. Then Mae goes missing. This part intrigued me as I wondered how it was going to unfold but how it did was something even I couldn't have imagined in my wildest dreams. You think you know where this is heading and then BAM!
Well, played.
The narrator of this book was amazing!

You always know you're in for a wild ride with a K Mod book! I enjoyed the slightly less thrilling pace of this novel - maybe it was the vacation boat vibe rubbing off on me! I didn't see the big twist coming towards the end and was once again shocked at how our author managed to execute such a shock. I listened to the audiobook of this book and the narration was fantastic and hard to put down. Another great read by our thriller Queen!

Um... What?!!! Well, It started out good and I was really interested but then things went WILD and so unrealistic! It also felt like other books I've read of hers. I wish it hadn't gone in the direction it did and was a bit more believable because the beginning had such potential. I liked the setting. The narration was well done and I enjoyed the audio format!! It kept me entertained and hooked though.

Thank you Dreamscape for the ALC to read & review! MOST of this story I found to be good, easily readable, fast paced & interesting enough to keep me reading.
I have loved some of Kiersten Modglin's previous works and there are some with twists so completely out of the blue that I just don't find it enjoyable to reach the end. This is leaning towards being one of the latter. I like when I'm introduced to characters throughout a story and I can either pick up on subtle clues about them throughout or later on, after reaching a twist, look back and realize there were breadcrumbs all along. The last page twist just isn't for me. It kind of pisses me off, honestly. My favorite thrillers are ones that not only keep me reading but spin me a mystery I can unwind.
All that said: A lot of readers love this kind of story! And I'd recommend this if you love:
-fast-paced
-mystery
-popcorn thriller
-wild twists
The cruise ship setting was fun! We don't really get exposed to too much of the best parts of a cruise before the tragedy strikes; but it was enjoyable to read.
I felt there could have been better character development. I didn't really feel all that connected to any character. Maybe mostly Blake and Flo but that is likely because they are two of the narrators.
Overall, this was easy to read & fast-paced but the twisty twists weren't for me.
