It's no secret that Daisy and Ryke are my least favorite of the core six/eight, but this is without a doubt one of the most heart wrenching and emotional story lines in the series. If you've read the Like Us series or are familiar with it then you can probably figure out what's coming. In the end though, I don't regret any time I spent with these characters, this series has that much of a hold on me.

P.S. The Berkley bonus scene is a Loren Hale POV

Such a bittersweet experience—I'm not sure where my head is at right now. I will always be in love with these six individuals, their stories, the writers, and this book. Long Way Down was the ideal way to wrap up this emotional rollercoaster of a journey that has been truly beautiful. I'm excited to see what the next generation, who will undoubtedly carry on the amazing and poignant legacy of the Addicted series, has in store.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC.

I got away from this series and since it is being released in paperback now, I thought it would be a good time to catch up with the Calloway sisters and their men. Daisy and Ryke go through a lot in this book. Things start out very heavy and dark for them and they have a lot to deal with as the story progresses. The last third of the book does pick up and move a bit quicker than the previous pages, which I liked a whole lot. There are some repetitive themes and scenes between the two main characters that did tend to wear on me after a while, but in the end it was all good. I loved the moments with Ryke and his brother Lo. There is some very engaging and interesting about these characters, and it's easy to fall into their story.

This series has been a lot of fun and I love Daisy and Rykes relationship. They are adventurous and fast paced and always down for the next adventure. Their age gap has been perceived as a problem by others but Daisy and Ryke know they are good for each other. They may take risks but they know how to keep each other in check. Both of them have a lot of issues from their past that threaten to pull them under. Is their love enough to help them conqueror it all?

“Never give up or back down on the things that fill your soul, Calloway. There is no worse life than a hollow one.”

Long Way Down is the happily ever after to Ryke and Daisy’s story and the ending to the Addicted/Calloway worlds. I don’t know that I’ve ever been able to describe a story as heart wrenching, heart stopping, and heartwarming all at once, but this one is definitely that. Ryke and Daisy go through many obstacles in their relationship and on their own, but at the end of the day they have each other and the family they’ve created with their siblings/friends.

I think what I love most about LWD is that so many relationships come full circle. From Ryke and Lo’s dynamic as brothers and support systems to the Calloway sisters and how close they have become since healing and learning to communicate. Of course the majority of this story is about the crazy Raisins on their journey to getting their HEA, which happens, but know it takes a lot of tears, pain, and tension to get there mixed in with the love. The glimpse at the entire Addicted/Calloway gang’s future is everything and will get you even more excited for the TRUE finale of the series, the epilogue novel, Some Kind of Perfect (publishes March 5, 2024).

This review is for the Berkley paperback edition, and that means it includes some fun bonus content at the end of the novel. A Halloween bonus scene with moments with all our faves and some fun texts between the crew.

Long Way Down by Krista and Becca Ritchie is an incredibly emotional and heart-wrenching masterpiece. This captivating novel has rekindled my love for these talented authors. The profound bond between the characters, their unwavering friendship, and their deep understanding of one another are nothing short of exquisite. It is truly a work of beauty.

With every book added to the Addicted/Calloway series, I find a new favorite. Long Way Down has definitely filled that spot. It was a very beautiful “conclusion” to Ryke and Daisy’s love story. (I say “conclusion” because it was supposed to be The End, but the authors gave us a really cool epilogue novel.)

I’ve loved Ryke’s character since the beginning of the series. His honest, blunt approach to life appealed to me. I also loved his swearing. (Hey, there was just something kind of sexy about it!) He felt more real to me than the other characters. Daisy hasn’t always been my favorite, but Long Way Down really endeared her to me. I felt like I actually got to know her in this book. Her raw connection with Ryke made more sense to me and I loved the playfulness they continued to share.

The story wasn’t all fun and games, though. There were some very intense moments that had me worried. The suspense was brutal at times. But those moments lead to really moving moments between the characters, so it was well worth it. Long Way Down was another amazing addition to this series.

As for the added bonus content... There is a Halloween bonus scene from Lo's POV that has the guys bonding and a hilariously scary time for the entire gang. There is also a short bonus text thread that was a lot of fun.

I know I’ve said it with every review for this series, but I think new adult romance lovers need to read this series. It’s simply amazing. I’ve grown so attached to the characters and I’m not looking forward to the series ending. So, go read it!

Let me start with the fact that I genuinely enjoyed this book and the Raisy connection. It was deep and meaningful, and Ryke’s attentiveness to Daisy and her mental health was beautiful.

Was Ryke’s every other word use of fuck annoying even as some one with a sailor’s vocab? Yes. I get it that it’s his thing but it feels lazy.

I think most importantly this is a beautiful representation of how the path to growing a family isn’t always perfect, linear or easy. It felt realistic and thoughtful and I really appreciate the destigmatization.

Superrr long read though.

3.5 stars!

Unfortunately, this book made me not like Ryke and Daisy as much. Their POVs in this installment read as immature and almost whiny. Some of the scenes were really cringey in this one, to be honest.

In general, I feel like the twin’s writing was not as good in this one either.

I did think the ending was heartwarming. Im excited to read the final book in this series next!

Thank you for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

Easy to read, easy to follow, and jumps right into the story. I stopped after chapter 4 (8%) but likely an easy five stars for their fans and three to four stars for the target audience.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC.

4.5 stars!

I've been following Raisy since the start of time (Ricochet when she was 16 *wink wink*) and this one was no different! I loved it!

I only deducted half a star because I hoped that Ryke would ditch his constant f-bombing (I love f-bombing but his is so unnaturally and unnecessarily overdone)

This book pulled at my heartstrings. With Sully and then Daisy's hysterectomy??? I was crying.

I truthfully believe these two were fated to be together. Even though they met when daisy was 16, Ryke has always been a good man to her and for her. She is a little immature at times for my taste (even when she's 20, 21) so I just sit there wondering what ryke likes in her at all? But you have to take it for what it is. Take the people for what they are. I loved their journey, I loved their character growth.

This was amazing. I am saddened that it's the last of them but my heart is so damn happy. I laughed, I cried (ALOT) and more importantly- I loved.
