A little unbelievable, but the chemistry between Charlotte and Zach made up for it.

500-mile tandem bike ride? First time I've seen that in a book, lol! Love a unique concept. This book offers a refreshing perspective on life, has a lot of endearing characters, really just an all around feel-good read.

This was simply delightful! I loved the premise of a couple's challenge. I loved the journey to faith. I loved that it was clean and wholesome.

Becca Kinzer once again pens a delightful rom-com that will be perfect on any summer reading list. She gives a laugh out loud comedy of errors. Which is just plain and simply fun to read.
Charlotte finally feels like she is putting her broken engagement behind her. Zach is in town only long enough to see his brother marry his ex-fiancée. Neither is ready for what happens next.
If you are looking for a perfect get away book, this is it. Open the covers and plan on laughing out loud and enjoying this story immensely.

This was another brilliant story from start to finish full of laughs and self discovery and we cant forget the cute romance. It was brilliant to see the character development of Charlotte and how by embracing new things she was able to discover her happy ever after with Zach. Sophia's romance was also really cute to read about and the relationship she had with her sister. Would definitely recommend. Thank you to Becca Kinzer and Net Galley for an ARC copy of this book all opinions are my own and I can not wait to read more.

A cute little book to enjoy. I skipped a bunch of the prose but did enjoy the dialogue. It's predictable but funny.

This book got more and more ridiculous as time went on. The romance didn't feel authentic, it felt rushed (especially with the big reveal in the end!) and then the cancer ridden mother announces she's pregnant too? I just laughed because it was all so comical and out of place.

I liked the idea and setting of this book (hence why I requested it via NetGalley) but it was a big fat disappointment I'm afraid. I wish I could give it a higher rating, but then I wouldn't be honest!

Plot: Charlotte is a music teacher and her school loses funding for her position. She reconnects with her ex-fiancé’s brother, and they pretend to date so that they can enter a contest to win $250,000 by biking 500 miles on a tandem bike.

Review: Overall, this was a cute romantic comedy. I liked most of the banter, and I thought the premise was adorable. I did get a little bored in the middle, and at times, there were too many subplots going on, which made it tough for me to wrap my mind around everything. Usually, with this type of book, I prefer the plot to be simpler. That said, the writing was cute, the characters were fun, and the story felt original. This one is a quick and fun read that most rom-com lovers would enjoy.

Love in Tanden is a fake-dating romantic comedy that will make you laugh out loud and swoon. It has all the swoony feels, angst, funny and romantic internal monologues, and of course, sweet kisses!

Charlotte has landed her dream job teaching music. However, she was taken aback when she found out that the school's music program was about to shut down. Despite the challenges, she is determined to save it.

Meanwhile, Zach Bryant has returned to town for his brother Ben's wedding. Unexpectedly, he bumps into Charlotte, his brother's ex-fiancé, and to make matters worse, everyone thinks they are dating. Zach never thought he would join Charlotte on a 500-mile tandem bicycle ride to raise funds for the defunct music program. The characters are likable, especially Charlotte with all the situations she gets into, with all the misunderstanding scenes, which is just so entertaining that you don't want them to stop.

The growing relationship and banter between Charlotte and Zach was fun to read. The author's humorous writing style made every scene highly entertaining. If you want to laugh and relax while reading, this book is definitely for you.

Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for the eARC.

This was my first modern rom com & I loved it! Usually I stick to historical fiction & this was just so fun! I really enjoyed the main characters- Charlotte, Zach & Sophia.
Obviously there was some cheesy/awkward aspects- Charlotte’s ex-fiancé is getting married and she ends up pretending to date his brother, Zach, and they end up committing to a super long tandem bike ride competition so they can both win some money. But the cheesy awkwardness that made them more endearing, as did each of their personal struggles.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I really, really, really enjoyed this book. It was fun and just took you along. The characters were great, a little cheesy, okay a lot cheesy but in a good way. I liked their interactions and journey, both physical and emotional.

You got to see their move from point A to point B, the struggles in between and everything that went into it so the ending was believable. This is a cheesy book and often a believable ending is not guaranteed but this one has it.

This was a cute/fun read with a different story line. The faith was only light and in some ways felt incomplete. However, overall, it was a great clean read!

Charolette lives a calm, some what, predicable life. All while here sister ,Sophia, lives a lot more by the moment life, and always seems to be in an adventure. The girls have a brother, Will, who they don’t see often and parents that the girls are close too. Charolette is fighting for her job and music program at the school she works When she finds out there is no new funding coming for the next school year like she believed, she goes on her own adventure.

Through different events Charolette finds herself in a fake relationship with her ex-fiancé brother Zack. Zack is adventurous is on the journey of a new job in California. In order to try and save Charolette’s music program they go a 500 mile biking challenge that could lead to life changing money. There are challenges along the way which bring Charolette and Zack closer. Only problem is after the ride is over they are faced with going back to their separate life’s.

One of things I enjoy about this book is that the “side characters “ have just as an important role, and have there own stories going on strongly while complimenting the main characters well!

4/5 stars!
Thanks to Netgally & Tyndale House for the advance readers copy. All opinions are my own

A sweet chick-fic novel that wasn't too demanding and always had the promised ending in sight, but was a pleasure to read. I enjoyed the protagonist and although some of the plot workings felt a little bit too contrived, I was invested enough in the characters not to protest too much. An enjoyable read with a gentle basis of faith.

This is my first read by Becca Kinzer, and I absolutely loved it! (And now that I realize she wrote Dear Henry, Love Edith, which has been recommended nearly as frequently in a certain FB group as The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip, which I also recently/finally just read, I must pursue and read that book pronto!)

I honestly thought the "fake dating" trope wasn't for me, after a recent subpar experience with it--made even more surprising as that author is typically an auto-buy for me--so I was a little hesitant here, but it was extremely well done. And the fact that the book is laugh-out-loud funny made it even better! The icing on the cake: the faith element woven throughout. (And if you quirk an eyebrow at a couple moments, like I did, just keep reading. ;) It's worth it!)

Can't wait to see more from Kinzer, and super glad I have Henry and Edith to look forward to.

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Becca has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I absolutely loved her book, Dear Henry, Love Edith. Love in Tandem is her second novel, and it did not disappoint. If you're looking for a light-hearted, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy, then keep reading!

Charlotte is a music teacher who loves her job. When she learns that the school plans to cut the music program, she is determined to save it. Charlotte decides to sign up for a 500-mile tandem bike trip to raise money for the program with Zach. Here's the catch: Zach is Charlotte's ex-fiancé's brother, and Charlotte is not an outdoorsy person. What could possibly go wrong?

This book is a sweet romantic comedy that features fake dating, opposites attracting, and an adventure-filled journey.

I want to thank Tyndale House Publishers and Net Galley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a cute and heartwarming "Christian" Romance that kept me engaged and entertained 70% of the time. I put Christian in quotes because it did have some mention of prayer and faith but that was the extent of "Christian" that was represented. "Clean Read" would have been a better category in my opinion. It definitely had a hallmark feel with an enemies-to-lovers vibe going on. There were so many parts of the book that felt cute and believable but equal parts far-fetched and super cheesy.

From reading online reviews, it seems that the audio version had better ratings so that would be the format I would choose if you are interested in this book.

Love in Tandem by Becca Kinzer is one of the funniest, most endearing stories I’ve ever read. This book had me laughing so hard tears streamed down my face. I loved every single second of this delightful story, and I am genuinely sad my time with these characters is over. Charlotte is a wonderful heroine. She is sarcastic and silly and quirky. I love her dedication to her students, her school, her family, and her hometown. And I really appreciate how she chooses to see the best in every situation. Zach is the best kind of hero. He is strong and protective, but he also has a wonderful playful side that came out in spades in this story. I love how he pushes Charlotte out of her comfort zone when she needs it, but isn’t afraid to be a teddy bear when she needs a good hug and someone in her corner. I really loved the give-and-take relationship between Charlotte and Zach. They are a great partnership because they bring out the best in each other. And their chemistry…WOWZA! So good! I also really loved the various themes discussed in this story. My eBook is highlighted like crazy. Specifically, I love the discussion on faith — genuine faith vs. superficial faith. I won’t spoil anything, but there is a character who believes their faith is solid…and then that faith gets tested…and then this character realizes their faith isn’t as solid as they believed, which makes this character think that maybe they’re a fraud. This realization rocks this character’s world, but leads to some really awesome character growth and a great HEA. And I was there for every single second!

Love in Tandem is a must-read novel. I HIGHLY recommend this excellent, hilarious, heartwarming story. If you need a good belly laugh, if you want a read that will leave you smiling ear to ear, then this is definitely the book for you!

I received a copy of this novel in eBook form from the publisher, Tyndale House, via NetGalley, in order to review. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This was such a unique and fun love story with some deep themes, great relationships, and growth woven in between the banter and swoon. Read if you like fake fiancés, forced proximity, and themes of faith.

Things I Loved:
-“It’s a terrible thing when a teacher survives an entire school year only to die the first minute of summer vacation.”
-Psych reference! 🍍
-Melba
-“That’s what it was. He’d gotten rid of the man bun. No wonder she found him attractive now. She hated man buns.” (Same! 😂)
-“And hey, aren’t you supposed to be on a canoe trip right now?” “I am. Can’t you hear the utter despair and agony in my voice?”
-John Wayne and cheesecake
-“Because the whee-way killed your car and you need to call Trusty Rusty.” “Exactly.”
-Mr. Uber
-“She didn’t even have to say it. An answer to prayer. And not just Charlotte’s. Somewhere these past five hundred miles, Zach had started uttering quite a few himself.”
-Faye
-“Ah, crud. So you’re saying I went after the wrong lost sheep? I tell you, this shepherding gig never gets easier.”
-The whole entire ending ♥️

This was my first read by Becca Kinzer and will definitely not be my last! I loved all the side characters and the little story arcs playing out along with the big picture. It was a delightful and uplifting read all around.

I’m still gushing to anyone who will listen over Becca’s newest book, Love in Tandem. (except my husband who now thinks we need to take a tandem bicycle trip, lol) This book has all the rom com fun without any of the spice. I was laughing out loud, quite literally, with the characters as the story unfolded. Charlotte and Zach’s story was so much fun.

I’m not going to lie, I was first apprehensive that each of the main characters’ exes were marrying each other, and that one was Zach’s brother. It’s not really a trope I’m usually interested in reading, but since I loved Dear Henry, Love Edith so much, I had to give this book a chance. Thankfully, the story didn’t center around the exes for long, and the humor all along the way smoothed things over quickly.

Charlotte never wanted to leave her small town, Zach has a knack for finding adventure in all of his travels. Through crazy circumstances, they end up together on a 500 mile tandem bike challenge on the Natchez Trace Trail to raise money to save her school’s music program. The adventure and hilarity only go up from there! Our family loves to go camping, so their travels had me dreaming up adventures for our boys when they get a little bit older.

Some favorite quotes from the book :

“Then a text came back from her mom. ‘Headed out for another walk. Such a beautiful day! God is good! No matter what, God is good!’”
**I feel like this is exactly what my momma would have sent me in this situation.

“I came here to ask you about money for the Canoodling Couples Challenge, but the whee-way killed my car, and I don’t have my phone to call Trusty Rusty”

“Wow. Was this motherhood?”
**Yes, over and over yes. Lol

And of course…

“I don’t want to ride tandem in this life with anybody but you.”

I’d recommend Love in Tandem to anyone who loves light hearted, funny, clean romance stories. This was a fun read and I enjoyed the whole cast of characters. Having said that, this isn’t going to be a strong favorite for me because this just isn’t my genre. Although funny, there are just too many ridiculous (to me) situations and actions. The cover is adorable and I’m looking forward to gifting my pre-ordered paperback copy. Thanks to Tyndale House Publishers for the early copy to read through NetGalley. I am leaving this review voluntarily as my honest opinion because I love books and authors. This book came out in April 2024 so is available now.

This is a very cute, clean romance. I like the faith based part of this book a lot as it was natural and not forced.

We follow Charlotte who is a music teacher in a small town in Illinois and she is trying to keep her job but funding is being cut so she is looking at creative ways to raise money so she can keep living in this town where her family lives as well. She has a brother that recently got out of jail, a sister that she is very close with and her parents who she is very loyal and committed to. Charlotte is still recovering from an engagement that ended at the altar. Through a calamity of mishaps she finds herself on a tandem bike ride of 500 miles in the hopes of raising enough money too keep herself and the school music program up and running. Her partner on this ride just so happens to be her ex-fiance's brother, Zach. The two are opposite in so many ways but while on this ride they have to make nice and get along to win the prize.

This is a story that is full of adventure and fun as well as a super sweet love story. I really enjoy this author's writing and will definitely read anything she writes.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
