I love love love the Narwhal and Jelly series and this is a great addition to the bunch! The focus on teeth was super fun and also a timely topic for this age group when kids are starting to lose teeth, become independent about brushing, and perhaps going to the dentist for bigger teeth issues for the first time. I always love how this series weaves in the typical experiences of kids of this reading age to normalize what they’re dealing with by matching it up with the cutest odd couple pairing in kidlit!

Ben Clanton is one of our favorites, with his Narwhal and Jelly being top tier. Narwhals Sweet Tooth did not disappoint. Perfect for summer reading. We will definitely be adding to our collection!

Thank you Penguin Random House Canada and author for the ARC!

I received an electronic ARC from Penguin Random House Canada through NetGalley.
Narwhal and Jelly return for their ninth book of adventures. This time Narwhal's tusk has broken and is close to falling off. Jelly learns that Narwhal has been munching on all sorts of sweets which probably weakened the tooth. Readers see them look for a way to fix it. Along the way, they connect with friends and work on teaching Narwhal to frown when he is sad. By the end, Shark has taught them how to take care of their teeth and maintain good oral hygiene. Love the message for readers that flows through the whole story. The comic included at the end brings dental health up front for readers. As always, these characters are delightful and continue to grow.

Who doesn’t love a cute and funny narwhal?!?! We enjoyed the comic book vibes of this book and it kept my kids laughing and making comments about how silly Narwhal and Jelly are together. Even though it’s a fun goofy book, I liked that there were facts shared about the animals and an emphasis on dental hygiene. Kids of all ages will enjoy this book and it’s a great little family read.

Feel free follow my social media accounts, I will be sharing my review of this book prior to the publishing date.

Ben Clanton's name speaks for his work, and this lastest additional is equally as refreshing, sweet and just an adorable story. I will never not be a fan of Narwhal and Jelly.

We love this series in our home and this is another hit! I read it with my 10-year-old last night and he (we) loved it. Thanks so much for the ARC but we will be buying the print edition for our collection too.

Another great Narwhal and Jelly!
This time, poor Narwhal had cracked his tusk nearly off, so he and Jelly figure out why it happened, how to stop it from happening, and how to fix his tusk!

My kids loved it! I was shocked how well it kept my 3 year old sons attention. Thier favorite part was ANYTHING with the cranky crab and the fun facts about sea animals. As a parent My favorite part was the education on brushing teeth and making it fun.
Highly recommend! Will be a well loved addition to our Narwhal and Jelly collection!

Yay for book nine! You can't help feeling happy around Narwhal. He is the embodiment of positivity and optimism. Knowing that it was therefore interesting to see how Narwhal responded to the predicaments he faces in this story. His tusk (his tooth) is nearly broken off, mostly likely due to all the delicious sweets he's eaten or had stored in his tusk (aka, his "snack saver") for later. Narwhal and Jelly also discover that Narwhal doesn't know how to frown, so they set off to find help from their friends with both problems. This ninth installment and newest adventure was a delightful, encouraging, and creative read.

Thanks again Tundra Books and NetGalley for the e-arc to read in exchange for an honest review!

Narwhal and Jelly books don't last a day on my library shelf before disappearing! Double copies are a necessity! And #9 in the series did not disappoint. I can't wait for my students to get their hands on the next adventure and learn just how funny escaping cavities can be! Keep the series going, Ben Clanton, because my students will certainly keep reading!

Narwhal and Shelly books are a favorite in my house and library, and Ben Clanton’s newest edition is no exception. Laugh-out-loud funny, as well as educational, this is the perfect book for young readers. Books like this can teach children (and remind adults) just how much FUN reading can be!

Another adorable addition to the Narwhal and Jelly universe! The fun continues for Narwahl and Jelly in their home under the sea. Great for kiddos who love graphic novels or are on their way to chapter books.

Narwhal has been enjoying a few too many sweets, which spells a bad day for her horn. It's nearly snapped off! Narwhal and Jellyfish swim off to figure out if there's anything they can do to protect Narwhal's horn before it's too late.

This is a cute and simple book great for young readers and fans of Elephant and Piggy. It's a little magical and a lot silly. This story focuses on tooth health, but it takes plenty of fun detours and adds in a bunch of great puns.

This graphic novel had my 8 year old laughing out loud. My kids are big fans of Narwhal and Jelly books, and this one is as cute as ever. Teaches some interesting sea facts as well as the importance of oral hygiene. Narwhal and Jelly are good little friends to each other.

This is another adorable entry in the Narwhal and Jelly series - Narwhal uses his horn (which I believe is actually the narwhal's tooth) as a storage for his sweet snack, which, as you can imagine, causes tooth decay and it breaks. The pair goes on a tangent trying to teach Narwhal how to frown...which he seems to be incapable of, because he's just so sweet and happy. In the end, he gets a visit from the tooth ferry...yep, you read that right. Definitely a must have for your comic book loving kids!

I’ve seen the books in this series in the store for years but had never read one. I’ll have to go back and read the others because Narwhal and Jelly are so adorable and the illustrations are darling. And the story isn’t just about laughs; this book covers showing your feelings and the importance of dental hygiene—not to mention interesting facts about the teeth of sea life! I can’t wait to go back to read how the friendship of this pair starts.

Thanks to NetGalley and the Penguin Random House Canada for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I'm familiar with Ben Clanton's Narwhal and Jelly series, enjoying many with my nephew's!

Something I think this book does very well is that it still keeps the fast pace story lines that are funny enough to digest but good to keep the younger ones engaged.

I feel Clanton wanted to use the opportunity to speak upon the value of tooth care, I think it would have been delightful if Narwhal went to the dentist instead of the horn falling completely off. However as a book that is meant to be funny and as well as an opportunity for the younger audiences to dive into the world of reading accessibly, Clanton's maintained his hilarious dialogues and cute illustrations for children to continue to enjoy.

Thank you for the Advanced Reading copy of this book. I'll be sure to recommend it to his fans.

The illustrations are always so colorful and pleasing to look at. The story lines are always so well written and easy for my children to understand and relate to. I can't wait to add this one to out personal library!
