‘When Anna’s husband calls and confesses to killing someone, followed by his body washing up on the banks of the Rio Grande, it’s up to her to piece together what really happened. After moving into the run-down motel-room-turned-apartment he rented as an art studio, Anna spends her days getting closer to the neighbors and absorbing every bit of gossip about her husband and the buildings’ tenants. But the more she learns, the less sense things seem to make.’

The pages of The Vacancy in Room 10 flipped fast and furious for me.

Highly entertaining with a quick pace, this thriller will keep you hooked with its dual POV’s and witty banter among a cast of misfit women. I totally appreciated their comradery and silliness mixed in with all the dubious acts of lies, betrayal and murder.

3.5 ⭐️ rounded up!

Thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing and Netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade publishing for the opportunity to read this new ARC! I was so excited to read this because I love her other books!

As we enter the gritty landscape of The Sycamores (think rundown Melrose place!) we try to piece together what happened to Anna’s husband. After he turns up dead, Anna moves in trying to find answers. Cass, who runs the apartments knows more than meets the eye!

This book was so so good!! So many twist and turns you will not want to put this book down!

Thank you Netgalley & HTP Books for an eARC of The Vacancy in Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass! Another book written by one of my favorite authors - Hmmm of course this one bumped it's way immediately to the top of my TBR! How are more people not obsessed with her work? Once I started this one, I absolutely couldn't stop.

This book as lots of characters but mainly follows Anna & Cass as their very different journeys take them both to the Sycamores. Anna's husband calls and confesses to killing someone, and then his body is washed up. She moves into the run-down motel-apartments the Sycamores where he rented an art studio to uncover what really happened to her husband.

Cass has been running the Sycamores as the resident handy-woman after her life was flipped upside down by her ex. To make some cash, she blackmails sleazy men. Nobody's gotten hurt - so what could possibly go wrong?

With Anna snooping around and Cass slipping up, two women's lives intersect and secrets come to light.

The author does a fantastic job in this book giving us the back stories of several characters and allowing us to get really invested in the futures of our MCs. I absolutely cannot wait to see what she comes up with next - This one was Whoa.

Special thanks to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy of this book. Wow, I literally couldn't put this book down. The characters were all funny and likeable and the motel had its own fun quirks and then you throw in the different mysteries and problems and it all just came together. I wouldn't call this a scary thriller, but it was quick paced and kept me turning the pages.

This was my first Seraphina Nova Glass novel and I am instantly HOOKED!!! I need more!

Surrounding disappearances and deaths at a little rundown apartment complex, we follow a handful of characters from varying backgrounds.

Oh the Sycamores… This place was a hoot!! There are good people and trashy people who live there and I want to know them all (ha-ha)!

Cass runs the Sycamores, running away from her lavish life after her husband left her for a younger woman. Now she is barely making ends meet… until a not so ethical plan falls into her lap. She starts to blackmail bad men for money. When she tries again, with a the wrong guy, things go horribly wrong. When Anna shows up asking questions, Cass starts to get worried.

Anna is trying to piece together what happened to her recently deceased husband. He claimed to have killed someone and then he is found dead, himself. She heads to the Sycamores to track down the truth, where she meets Cass, who CLEARLY has some secrets.

There are other integral characters at play here, multiple mysteries being solved at the same time, and some absolutely fantastic characters! I thought this book was so much fun and I will be reading all of this author’s backlist ASAP

The Vacancy in Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass I just wasn't drawn into this book. The main characters, along with the minor ones, were untrustworthy and unlikeable. The motel location was a desolate and hopeless place. Ms Glass' many fans are sure to enjoy this domestic thriller.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

The Vacancy in Room 10 hooks you in and never lets go. Cass is living in and is caretaker at an old rundown motel, the Sycamores, that has been converted into apartments. The residents there are down on their luck. She is barely making ends meet and is supplementing her income by engaging in dangerous, risky and criminal behavior. She knows everyone at the Sycamores and they are an interesting, engaging and very well developed cast of characters. Anna came to stay at the Sycamores because her husband had been keeping an art studio in one of the apartments. Anna’s husband had called her one night and said he had killed somebody. During the call she heard a loud noise and then later his body was found near a river. Anna starts getting threatening messages. Cass and Anna’s lives begin to intersect, someone goes missing and everyone there seems to be involved or in danger. This is a very layered and intricate mystery with many plot twists. The characters are fascinating and compelling and it is impossible not to become immersed in the details of their lives. I highly recommend this book! With thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC. My opinions are my own.

Seraphina. Wow she always has a way of sucking me in and spitting me out!! I couldn’t put this one down from the moment I picked it up.

I enjoyed this and hadn't read anything by this author before. The two main characters, Cass and Anna, felt very real to me and I usually didn't have trouble keeping track of whose narrative we were in (chapters skip between the two in first person). I think all the threads were wrapped up nicely, which I appreciate. There is one instance where Cass has information that's held back from the reader, which I thought was kind of a trick, especially because I didn't think she pulled her blackmail trick more than the times we read about.

There were a few editing mistakes that I caught too - Cass at one point says she never knew her mom, and then later talks about a trip she takes with both her mom and dad. Frank is called Sinatra until halfway through, and then he's just "Frank." And then I'm confused by the title. What IS the vacancy in room 10? It's not vacant since Cass lives there. "Tenant in Room 10" would make more sense, even though it's not really all about Cass, Anna in room 203 is half of the story.

My favorite part of this book was the place. The motel-turned-apartment-building felt so real to me, and I love the pool girls ... the dialogue between those ladies felt especially true.

Wohoo I envision this to be on everyone's radar for the hottest and most addictive thrillers of 2024.

This was my first book by Seraphina Glass and let me tell you it definitely won't be my last!!

Seraphina slowly weaves her readers into this web of a life between Cass and Anna. Welcome to the shining bright sign of vacancy at the Sycamores hotel where all the broken people live.

I loved the multi POV from our two main characters. Seraphina, girl you have a talent for grabbing your readers in and goodness does it get intense.

And that ending....welp def the icing on the cake and will for sure have many readers talking.

4.5/5 stars

This was a new author for me and she has definitely made my list to keep an eye out for. This book is one you wont want to put down!
The Vacancy in room 10 has 2 main characters, Cass and Anna. Cass is basically starting over after her cheating, rich boyfriend kicked her out of their home. Now Cass is the handy ma'am at The Sycamores, trading repairs for rent and fighting to make ends meet while starting over.
Anna is a new widow that is unraveling the hidden secrets her husband kept in one of the rooms at the motel. She is struggling to attempt to put together his last months and explain his death.
The lives of the residents of the Sycamores do collide over a series of events that allows us to get to know all the residents and some of theor secrets.
Both of these main characters are relatable, realistically flawed and easy to connect with.
You cannot comment on the book without commenting on how much i love the secondary characters as well. From the pool girls, Barry and Rosa. It adds so much depth to the book.
The story is suspenseful, mysterious and keeps you guessing. You will find yourself thinking you may know where it is going but then, it takes a turn.
I highly recomme d the Vacancy in room 10 by Seraphine Nova Glass. You wont regret the read.

I’m calling it right now, this is going to be the thriller of 2024. I had high hopes based on the author’s other book “On a Quiet Street” that I loved so much, and I wasn’t disappointed. I was sucked in from the beginning and caught myself reading any spare minute I had. It was such a unique storyline and unlike anything else I’ve read. There’s a sketchy apartment complex, a man who committed suicide, the cartel, a widow looking for answers, a lone woman, and a teacher that all come together for this deliciously addicting novel. Trust me, all these components just work! The main two female leads are extremely likable, and all of the characters just melded so well together. I cannot urge you enough to read this book, and I promise the hype is real!

From the very beginning, I knew this was going to be a 5⭐️ read. The author's unique method of storytelling was so lifelike. The character development was unlike anything I've read before and was absolutely superb! I absolutely loved the character, Cass! Her personality was so relatable and just a joy to read her narrative. While this is a thriller, there were many parts where I literally laughed out loud because the descriptions of the people/places were just so enjoyable and well depicted. Even when nothing heart-racing was happening (which trust me, there were plenty of pulse pounding parts of this book), I was so invested in the characters and getting to know more about their lives that there truly were no dull moments throughout the entire book. In fact, it was so hard to put this one down. I read over 50% of the book in one sitting! Nothing was predictable about this book. It left me guessing until the very end, which is the true testament of a great thriller.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Guaranteed to be one of the most popular reads in 2024! A MUST HAVE on every TBR list!

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read this digital ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Vacancy in Room 10 was a happy surprise and one of my favorite reads in 2023. Glass's descriptions of the run down motel, The Sycamores, and its occupants is spot on and places the reader amidst the screaming kids, pool matrons and shady drug dealing dads.
Vacancy centers around two main characters, Cass and Anna, both suffering through their personal hell. Cass's cheating, rich boyfriend kicked her out of their lavish home after she discovered his younger mistress. Now Cass is the handy ma'am at The Sycamores, trading repairs for rent.
Anna's husband kept his art studio in one of the rooms at the motel. A frantic phone call leads to his apparent suicide. Anna now lives in his studio, trying to piece together her hubby's mysterious death.
Cass and Anna's lives collide when overlapping murder and coverups lead to one wild plot twist after another.
Book a room at Seraphina Nova Glass's fleabag motel. There's a vacancy just waiting to put a thrill-packed read in your library.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for an ARC copy of The Vacancy in Room 10.

When I say I was hooked from the first chapter, I mean it! I could not put it down!! This was such a twisty story with super relatable characters and had a nice mix of humor (which is hard to do well in a thriller). I snorted a few times reading about the wacky residents of the Sycamore apartments.

I gave this author's previous book On A Quiet Street 5 stars and I definitely enjoyed this one more! Seraphina Nova Glass has officially joined my "auto-read" list of authors!!

This book delivers right from page one, and doesn't stop until the last page: I did not want to put this one down! Full of flawed characters and suspense throughout, this book is sure to be a huge contender for book of the year in 2024. I could easily see this book turned into movie, as it definitely read like one. Seraphina Nova Glass has a way of making her characters so believable, that you can even picture the actors who could play them. This was a quick, fun read, that kept me on the edge of my seat. Highly recommend!

4.5 ⭐️ This unique style thriller had me at the edge of my seat. It was a quick read that I didn’t want to put down. The characters were well developed and felt relatable while reading. The story was told from two POV’s and it kept me engaged. The twists and suspense kept me guessing until the very end and the ending was perfect.
*Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. This comes out in April 2024 and I highly recommend
