"10-Minute Strength Training Exercises for Seniors" by Ed Deboo is a fantastic resource for older individuals looking to enhance their strength, balance, and stamina. The brilliance of this guide lies in its easy-to-follow instructions, making it highly accessible for seniors, even those significantly into their eldership. The step-by-step guidance and helpful illustrations simplify the 3-part plan, starting with strength training principles, moving to 40 individual exercises, and concluding with 25 combined routines targeting every muscle group. What sets this book apart is its practicality—requiring no equipment, it utilizes bodyweight exercises and household items like soup cans, making it suitable for home workouts. With a focus on boosting overall well-being and providing adaptable exercises, this guide earns a well-deserved 4.5 stars. It's an invaluable tool for seniors seeking to maintain and improve their fitness levels with just 10 minutes a day.
I am in my mid 50s but will buying a copy for my 77yr old mother.
Thanks to Mr Deboo, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review
The kindle version of this book was unreadable. There were blocks, half pictures, 1/4 of a picture, but not a full picture. The text was disjointed and didn't line up with any of the blocks or pictures that I could tell.
I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. I honestly cannot say much about the book itself, only the format.
I was excited to read this book and to learn some ways to become more flexible and to improve my balance. Unfortunately, the formatting made it very hard for me to follow these. Some of the graphics wouldn't load and the ones that did were choppy. The text is clear enough to follow along, but the book would be greatly improved with actual photographs of the exercises being done.
There were some very good tips for older people with limitations, along with accommodation ideas. The illustrations were okay, but I’d rather they have been photographs of real people in order to understand the movements better. Even so, this was a comprehensive book and a great resource.
This is a great book that will help me keep fit and healthy as I continue to age. I do like to exercise but need to adjust the way I do things and this book will help me do that. It has great ideas, exercises and step by step instructions to help me in my quest.
No need for a gym, special equipment or long hours exercises as this book will get you moving in no time at all. A great book and one I will continue to use so that I can keep exercises as life goes on and my age gets older..
Thank you NetGalley and Callisto Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
What a wonderful book for seniors. Loved the graphics and great explanations of the exercises. This would be very doable for a lot of seniors to stay healthy.
