I first read Maggie Nelson's Argonauts while finishing my Sociology degree, her depth and insight into the family dynamic made me fall in love with the subject and her voice at the same time. Forever excited to get my hands on a piece of Nelson's work and this is a gift containing endless snapshots into her life and the people that influenced her writing/perspectives. It is very intriguing to read the conversations that Nelson has with other authors and the way that they build off each other and become in awe of what the other has said.

My favourite parts and the parts that will stay with me, when Nelson compared the difference between writing poetry and prose. Describing how prose is like a time suck and makes the writer sit still, submerged in it, while poetry is more chaotic and fleeting, writing notes on napkins when the moment comes. The "My Brilliant Friend" chapter was a sorrowful acknowledgement of grief, loss and friendship. I thoroughly enjoy my time in Maggie Nelson's mind.
