This was a great fast paced second chance Rom-Com. I loved Max and Lilly and this was a great setting, in the world of racing. It was fabulous and I highly enjoyed it!
I just reviewed Burn by Tamara Lush. #Burn #NetGalley

Burn is a part of a series but very easy to read as a standalone. It is a second chance romance centered around race car drivers. I like Lily and Max, I liked their relationship and their obvious connection. I do think there could have been more time or info between the final chapter and epilogue about the team but that’s a minor thing.

Burn is the third part in the Pretenders series of Tamara Lush. After the stories of Savannah (Drive) and her brother Alex (Crash), we now move to one of Dante’s competitors: Max.

Same as Dante, Max has an ego the size of Manhattan. Probably something you need to have to survive as a Formula 1 driver.

And we have Lily, daughter of the team owner. Lily and Max have secretly hooked up years ago, but then Lily ended things. Especially since she didn’t like being in the spotlight. But when her father has a heart attack and asks her to step in as the team manager, she agrees.

But now, Max and Lily have to work together, professionally. With the sparks still flying between them after all those years, Max realizes he was a fool to let Lily walk away. But since she technically is his boss now, a new rekindling of their relationship probably isn’t the best career move… The tension is getting thicker and thicker, since Lily wants to prove to her father that she is capable of running the team. But is she also capable of keeping Max and an arms’ lenght? Find out for yourself whether they will crash and burn… Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Nothing terrible but nothing very fresh either. Reads like Laura Asher mixed with Tessa Bailey. The male character is a bit too big of a character, too perfect and the female main character tries to shrink herself too much. The ending felt like it came out of nowhere, didn't match the pace of the rest of the book and didn't feel satisfying. Also it was mentioned too many times that the female main character didn't like hugging.

Tamara Lush is one of my go-to authors and her book Burn was a fun, spicy, second-chance Romance. Lily is the daughter of a pro-racing car team owner. Max is her former lover while interning at her father's company. When her father becomes ill and must take time away from the business, Lily has to take over. But, that means spending more time with Max. And more time means "sleepovers." Now that Lily and Max are older and have spent time apart, they can manage to have a no-strings sexual relationship, right? Well, Lily has to keep up appearances that she's not an HR nightmare, and Max. just wants Lily. I devoured this novel and can't wait to read the next Tamara Lush book.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Oh dear. This one was a struggle and I honestly think I only finished it because it was a quick read and I loved the little F1 fan moments and facts and the occasional German words. I did not like the writing style, the storyline was super disjointed and mostly unbelievable, and I was just not a fan.

Thanks to Wattpad and NetGalley for the ARC.

Thank you to NetGally for letting me read this book! I thought this book was greatly executed! There was a good plot and character development, theirs a little bit of spice, but most importantly there’s also hidden important messages that you can get from this book. I think if you like the formula 1 world you would find this book to be adorable, even if you know nothing about it, it’s a really good read.

I got this book as an ARC and I adored it. I love f1 romances and this one did not disappoint. It was cute and sweet and gave you all of the good feels. If you guys like contemporary romance/second chance/forced proximity, this is the book for you! Tamara Lush is quickly becoming an automatic add to TBR. Sometimes I felt like the book lost my attention a little bit, but other than that, I LOVED this book and can't wait to read more!

At first I was genuinely confused as to why this book had a lower average rating, but I get it now, it started off really great but fell apart a bit in the last 25%.

While this book was filled with super sweet and swoony moments from Max, the MMC, there was a lot of back and forth about the same issues that plagued their relationship the first time around. Also, the way the book ended was very abrupt and happened rather conveniently. Instead of Max and Lily having an extensive serious conversation about their future and what they want together, their fate was decided through a particular event that ultimately made the decision for them. It was unsatisfying to say the least.

The writing was decent, and I would gladly read from this author again. She knows how to write a perfect, cinnamon roll of an MMC. Unfortunately, the ending just ruins it for me. This would have been a 4 star read if not for that.

Thank you so much to Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!!

A sexy second chance romance set in the formula one racing world. Being the coach’s daughter and the star racer they have the odds stacked against them, but is second time the charm?

This book was fast paced and emotional. I liked the writing and the story. I was fully onboard from the first page.

Thank you NetGalley and Wattapadbooks for the ARC.

Lily Onasiss was fired from her job and is back in Miami before deciding what her next move will be. Her father, who owns a Formula 1 team, has a heart attack and asks her to lead the team while he recovers. Besides feeling imposter syndrome, this puts Lily back in close proximity with her ex and first love, Max, who also happens to be her father's star driver. Lily broke Max's heart seven years ago and they haven't spoken since besides a few pleasantries at industry events. Now, spending time together is necessary and both Lily and Max start to wonder if they can rewrite their past.

I remember really loving the previous book in this series, but this one fell flat for me. Firstly, I think this could have benefitted from a bit more editing. The dialogue was rather awkward and the writing was repetitive at times. I also don't understand why Max was German - the random "ja" and "hallo" did nothing to advance the story and were just odd. I also didn't enjoy how down on herself Lily was and didn't understand why she had to keep mentioning how plain or ugly she was/felt. Overall, I felt the chemistry between Lily and Max but their reasons for breaking up before were flimsy at best and it was predictable how things were going to end up. Speaking of the ending, it felt very rushed. I was wondering how it was going to resolve itself with so few pages left and I was disappointed by the abrupt conclusion.

Burn is book three in The Pretenders series by Tamara Lush.
I must read book one and two now.
I absolutely loved this Book! I fell in love with Max and Lily! I was rooting for them through the whole book.
A remarkable steamy, second chance romance. I devoured it in only a few sittings and wish there was more to read. The storyline was paced very well and the characters were easy to love!
Lush has written a steamy romance with this one.
I’m actually jumping on Amazon now to buy book one Drive.

Thank You NetGalley and Wattpad Books for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Lily has to take over her father’s race car team after he has a heart attack. And the lead driver, Max, is her former lover whom she broke off with when she realized that she didn’t want to live in the spotlight of the racing world.

I liked the growing relationship between Lily and Max. He’s a super sexy star whom the paparazzi follow wherever he goes. But he really has been yearning for Lily ever since she left him. But Lily is introverted and insecure. She feels that she’s too plain to attract a hunk like Max. I like how he thinks she’s beautiful and sexy even if she doesn’t see herself that way. He takes good care of her even though she seems to blow hot and cold with him because of her insecurities.

I found the look at the world of Formula One racing very interesting. I had no idea what a big business it was to race just one or two cars. I would have enjoyed more of that and less of Lily’s angst.

‘’I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

I really enjoyed this second-chance romance set in the world of racing akin to Formula One -- it was lovely, romantic and not too angsty. Plus, I adored Max as well as Lily as characters. This is a fun, flirty, fast read and can be read as a standalone although I enjoyed this one so much that I am going to read the other books in this series and look for more books from this author! Add this one to your TBR!!

Burn comes out next week on January 2, 2023, and you can purchase HERE! This book is unique!

"Max, here's the thing. When a man's involved with a public sex scandal, he comes through unscathed. Or better than he was before. Women in sex scandals never fare that well. We become the sluts, the messy ones, the crazy ones. I know that firsthand."

Memories of tweets during my scandal at the game company come wafting through my brain. I was called a bitch, a company wrecker, and a shrew. And those were the nice comments.

*4.5

This was really cute. I love that they never fell out of love with each other and that they kept tabs on each other for all those years. I do wish we got to see them stick it to Lucas but I still loved the ending. I want a bonus scene of them possibly finding out that they are pregnant.

I received an arc through netgalley.

I absolutely loved this book! Second chance romance is a trope that is hard to pull off in a convincing way, but this one just *works.* The spice was nicely spicy, too--just right!

Lily Onassis is now in her 30s fired from her job and living an ordinary life baking and doing other stuff trying to sort out her life. Years ago she was her father's intern in the hopes of following him into the family business of Formula One World. However, soon af terwards she ran away from this sport and this lifestyle to a safer path shattering her heart and others in the way.

Now, Lily is back at it coz she has to take over the team after her father had a heart attack until he recovers and that means she needs to unite with the one that got away Max Becker a Formula One superstar her father's best driver, and her ex love.
Her fear of commitment and hatred of the lifestyle made her break up with him 7 years ago, will this be a second chance for them or is it a little too late??

I loved this book so much and Max was just the perfect cinnamon roll hero
So sweet, thoughtful, and affectionate.
Second-chance romances are always a favorite for me and this one nailed this category so make sure to add it to your TBR of course approaching women's problems in work regarding sexual harassment and other unfair behavior and issues was an important topic throughout the novel that I highly appreciate the author for talking about it.
Thanks to @netgalley and the publisher for granting me an ARC of #Burn in exchange for my honest review.
Xoxo💋

A cute, sweet romance novel that was fun to read! Quick cadence, fun plot line, and original idea with the Formula 1 sport.

I didn’t anticipate formula one races to be exciting, nonetheless reading one with some added romance. I enjoyed reading this book, loved the character development growth, especially from Lily. She started avoiding racing to being thrust into the world and accepting her responsibility. Workplace, forced proximity, second chance and sport romance all in one made a great combination.
