*Touch* by Kim Firmston is a captivating young adult novel that blends romance, suspense, and supernatural elements. The story follows the protagonist, Tessa, who discovers that she has an unusual ability: she can sense the emotions and thoughts of others through touch. This gift, while seemingly powerful, becomes a source of conflict for her, especially as she navigates high school and her complicated relationships with others.
Firmston’s writing is immersive, drawing readers into Tessa’s world and her emotional struggles. The plot is intriguing, with Tessa’s power leading to both moments of connection and personal turmoil. The romance aspect is tender and develops slowly, adding depth to the story, while the supernatural elements are handled with just the right amount of mystery to keep readers engaged.
Though the pacing can be slow at times, the emotional depth and character-driven nature of the story make *Touch* a compelling read for fans of YA romance with a supernatural twist. It’s an excellent choice for those who enjoy stories about self-discovery, the complexities of relationships, and the challenges that come with extraordinary abilities.

Firmston is a bit heavyhanded with the foreshadowing in this plot, though I appreciate the way it portrays bystanders. We see how love can make us inclined to ignore warning signs. Still, a bit to over-dramatic.

Requested and downloaded this book back in 2013 with every intention of reading it but then it expired on my device before I had the chance. Have felt bad about that and as a result haven't wanted to leave a review but with more and more publishers relying on Feedback ratings I need to clear out some of these older titles in my queue.

This book appears to be a battle between siblings for daddy-darling's approval. They seem to be at each others throats for the entirety of the book, just so seek some attention from their father, which they get after doing something stupid.
I think this book may be sending the wrong message to younger readers.
Fast paced and well written

Was not able to read this book before it expired. I believe I would have liked it based on the synopsis.
