From New York, with Love is too good of a book to be a freebie Kobo book. This book should be on everyone's favorite Chick Lit list. I could not put this book down. I will look for Iris Visser's next book and she will be a go-to author for me.

Emma is a party planner from Norway, who gets sent to the New York office, to plan a top tier Christmas party for the New York office's most valued client. She gets to spend the Christmas season in New York in a wonky apartment building filled with a cast of characters including her heartthrob neighbor, Rudy. Rudy, is the mystery man who sat next to her on the plane and tormented her all the way to New York.

Emma navigates her way to the office via the subway and is met by cranky boss and an even crankier co-worker who resents Emma taking over her running of the Christmas party project. Her co-worker tries to sabotage Emma every step of the way and the other office staff rallies to Emma's defense. Eventually. through hard work and friendship Emma wins over her co-worker and manages to overcome several hilarious obstacles to the event.

She also starts a wonderful romance with Rudy, who is a budding musical star. Rudy's character is why we all love chick lit - he pursues Emma, who is very jaded by her ex-boyfriend cheater and Rudy serenades her with a song written just for her. The emotions conveyed in the performance ooze through the pages of the book and every woman just wants to be loved that deeply.

All of the characters in this book are memorable and well-developed and this would make such a wonderful movie on Netflix or Amazon that would be as successful as Emma in Paris or even greater. You have the quirky apartment dwellers, the crazy co-workers and the wonderful bandmates and family of Rudy.

Please do a sequel and please market this book through other channels so more people can enjoy it. I am thrilled to get such a fun, laugh out loud book as an ARC.

This was such a cute book! Emma was so relatable in her adorable awkwardness, and even though her relationship with Rudy was predictable, I was still so charmed in reading about their interactions. The author made me fall in love with New York from afar as I experienced it through the eyes of Emma and her friends. This was the perfect lighthearted holiday romance!

This is a sweet book, a good choice for those who love New York and love romance in the holiday season. The main characters in the book have a hilarious first encounter. Emma is a really nice person, although she is a bit weird with her need to blab in awkward silences. Rudy is sweet, thoughtful and sexy just the way rock stars should be. They have great chemistry and I really liked the cozy moments they shared together. The conflict between the main characters is unfair and hurtful, but eventually they realize that being together is better than being absent from one another’s life. This is a great pick for the holiday season if you want something easy to read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of the book.
