This book did not draw me in.

I thought the characters fell flat. The main character was hard to like. She had a habit of jumping to conclusions.

There was SO mist going on that I really didn’t know what the plot was.

Terence and justice are college sweethearts who got married and are now having a hard time. They don’t address their problems. The FMC runs away real quick when things get hard.

They made it hard to root for them because there just wasn’t enough story for me to be invested in them.

Second chance romance is my favorite trope. But this fell flat all around.

I was not a fan of this story. The miscommunication troupe is not my favorite and the fact that this couple has been together for.so long and still has petty squabbles rubbed me the wrong way. It seemed the friends were more invested in the relationship rather then the couple the story is about. The whole thing felt very juvenile.

Thanks to meatballs for the ARC

I thought this was a good read, with real feeling characters and although it took me a little bit to get into it, it was a good read!

thanks NetGalley and the publisher for an e-arc in exchange for a review! full disclosure, i did end up DNF'ing this title a little under halfway through the book. I thought the dialogue between the characters felt immature for their age and their previously established relationship. I loved the premise of this book and would be open to try another book from this author should they write another, but unfortunately this one was not for me. congrats to the author for publishing a book; that is something I will always commend!

I started this one a few times but the book did not hold my attention at all. I heard many people loved this book so probably only I have a problem with it :(

Oh, man! Terrence might need to be my book husband. Good Lord! Every time he spoke I felt his sexy timber running through me. Between that and the physical descriptions, I was dying! 🥵 I wanted to be mad at him for all the ways he failed Justice before their separation, but there are just too many redeeming moments. I loved every bit of this novel: gorgeous winter setting with a touch of Hallmark Christmas ✔️ sassy, take-no-sh*t FMC ✔️ devoted sex-positive bestie ✔️ ride-or-die friend group ✔️ serious sexual chemistry ✔️ and a love story that survives the darkest times ✔️. Truth be told, I was tearing up just reading the quote at the beginning: “You’re never too much for the one who can’t get enough.” 🥺 Trust when I tell you I went through ALL THE EMOTIONS with this one several times over. Tanviert Peart is going to my auto buy list.

I'm waiting for this to be a hallmark movie! Her best friend takes her into a singles retreat and who shows up, her estranged husband. Who she does still love! I adored this second chance romance!
I just reviewed The Seven Month Itch by Tanvier Peart. #TheSevenMonthItch #NetGalley

Thank you NetGalley for the read in exchange for an honest review. I really tried to enjoy this book but I just don’t think it was for me. I am not a fan of the miscommunication trope. Personally, I don’t understand how a couple that’s been in a relationship for as long as Justice and Terrance were in would have zero communication skills. Every single character bothered me. This is supposed to be a romance, maybe a rom-com, but it had so much spice that it didn’t feel as romantic. Justice and Terrance were either having sex or fighting… over and over again. The characters are all 30+ years old so it was really weird to me when there were characters talking and acting like teenagers. When I got to the epilogue and there was a jump in time, I was excited to see where all the characters were in the future (hoping for lots of growth) and it just had to be thrown in there but there’s Justice and Terrance going at it at their friends’ wedding. The amount of times I read about pop culture references or about Hallmark movies made me feel like that was the entire inspiration - unfortunately I don’t like Hallmark movies. I’m glad everyone had a happy ending at least. I’m also grateful to have been given the opportunity to read this author’s first work.

Hmmmmmmmmm... well I am a long time hater of the miscommunication trope. Liked the premise, but did not execute well for me. I was hoping for a cute second chance romance, but ended up hating the characters.

The spice was SPICY. The plot- brilliant. The writing style- incredible. The ending- we love to see it. I felt like the characters were very relatable and the situation with their relationship is something that could easily exist in real life. The conflict stressed me out in the best way, and I had a hard time putting it down. What a great read.

I feel like the book started out with potential, but I actually did not finish it. The mechanics & storyline were solid, it just wasn't the right fit for me. That doesn't mean it won't be the right fit for someone else :)

A hysterical romantic comedy partially set in my hometown of Vail, Colorado, The Seven Month Itch should be on your TBR pile if not already. When your best friend drags you to a singles retreat where your almost ex-husband just also happens to be, you can expect hilarity (and spice!) to ensue. The characters were relatable and the writing is very well done. This was a perfect 'palatte cleanser' read for me.

A spicy, medium paced second chance romantic comedy with plenty of drama! Justice goes to a singles retreat to try and move on from her ex, only to find her ex Terrance there - and they can’t stay away from each other!
This book is a bit of fun, the spice rating is through the roof, the characters are entertaining, the only downside is the miscommunication between the main characters and some immaturity when they are meant to be late 30’s, it can get a tad frustrating.
Overall though, I enjoyed it and I recommend this one ☝️

This was an entertaining book by a new-to me author. It's a second chance romance that takes place in a unique setting, a singles retreat. Justice and Terrance have been separated for a while and not too far off from signing divorce papers. Justice's friend convinces her to start moving on and takes her for a girls' trip to a singles retreat. Justice is not ready to meet anyone, but she reluctantly agrees. Once there, the last thing she expected was to find her estranged husband at the same retreat. The deep connection that they have and a whole host of unresolved feelings painfully come to light as they have to each watch the other take part in the various singles activities.
The story was entertaining and kept my interest from beginning to end. The storyline flowed nicely and the plot twists kept me turning the pages, anxious to see what happens next. Both characters were well-written, with flaws that made realistic and more relatable. This was a story full of raw emotion and drama, but with some fun scenes mixed in as well. I enjoyed this debut story and look forward to reading more by this author.
My thanks to Netgalley for providing a complimentary copy. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Unfortunately, this book wasn’t for me. The miscommunication was too much, and the smut was overwhelming for me 😩

3 stars

I wanted to love this book so much. There were great things going for the story. The setting was very Hallmark feeling with the winter retreat. The friendships of the main characters were strong. And the chemistry between the main characters was definitely there. There were some laughs from me during this one.
What didn't work for me was the miscommunication and the drama. I feel like after you've been with someone so long the communication should be better, even with all of the issues. Each character was flawed, which made me feel for them. But I feel the book kept going and there were things that were never fully resolved.

I would recommend this to others. I think this could be someones new favorite book/author, but it just didn't work fully for me.

Thank you to Netgalley for the early read. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Unfortunately this one was not for me. I'd say more like a 2.5.
The characters have been together/married for 15 years but recently separated and then run into each other again. The biggest trope with this one is miscommunication, which I can deal with. However the level of miscommunication with a couple with that much history is WILD to me. Had they been married for a year or two then ran into each other years later, ok I could see it. But to be together THAT long. (I've been married 13 years and I just can't imagine.) It really made the characters unbelievable and not relatable to me.

The spice however was spicing! 🥵🥵🥵
Thank you netgalley for this arc.

Justice and Terrence have been on a break for a solid seven months. Like, zero contact. Then, guess what? Fate or whatever tosses them both into this singles' retreat situation, all thanks to Justice's BFF.

The story? Oh, it's a wild ride through the whole emotional spectrum - loss, grief, self-doubt, insecurity, jealousy, anger, and of course, the big L-word, love.

The pace is just right, and you really get to know Justice and Terrence. Sometimes you'll feel like giving them a bear hug, other times you'll want to shake some sense into them. But hey, that's the charm of it. The Seven Month Itch journey keeps you hooked.

Now, about that 'itch' – did they scratch it by getting back together, or did they find comfort elsewhere? Well, that's the mystery you've got to uncover for yourself.
