This book was phenomenal!! A complex domestic thriller that has multiple storylines and different POVs, with the author masterfully tying it all together. On one end, we are exploring the fragile relationship between mother and daughter, and on the other end diving deep into a missing person’s case. The writing style was fantastic, tempo was just enough to keep you interested and the ending was *chef’s kiss.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC, all opinions are my own

I felt like this book started off really strong but lost me quicker than it should have. There are way too many plot lines happening. You are getting dual POVs and timelines, diary entries, transcripts from appointments, court documents and text messages. It just became too convoluted for me. It does have some good strong parts, the mother/daughter relationship and where that starts and ends. I felt satisfied with that but there were some other things I just didn’t think seemed to fit. I can’t get too specific without giving anything away. The biggest fireworks come at the end and that was pretty disappointing. There were other explosive moments prior to that but nothing that blew my socks off. If you like a big character build and lots of different dialogues, this book is right up your alley.

I expected to be swept up in this novel like so many reviewers, but that just didn't happen. The relationships between Katrina, the disappeared one, her daughter and the husband Kat's divorcing. Then there's the guy she met online dating who Kat is interested in. Everyone's lives are messy and their relationships filled with rancor.

The crux of the story turns out to be concern over a pharmaceutical company's attempt to hide birth defects caused by one of their drugs. Daughter Cleo peels back the layers to see of this has anything to do with her mother and how this knowledge can help her find Katrina.

I didn't click with the characters and found the ending contrived and unsatisfying. Kimberly McCreight has written a number of books with lots of fans so I might try another. I'm still grateful to the publisher and NetGalley for putting this author on my radar!

Well that was a riiiiide. I knocked this book out in less than 24 hours, even doing some sneaky reading at my work desk. Don’t tell anyone.

This is the first book I’ve read from Kimberly McCreight, but definitely not the last. This is what thrillers are supposed to be, red herrings and changing your mind 5 times about what’s really going on. To keep guessing while the story twists and turns, while you’re offered little tidbits of info to inform you.

Who kidnapped Kat? And is the same person out to get her daughter, or will Cleo be the one to solve the mystery of her disappearance in the end? Her father is certainly no help (and man, I really was rooting for him to be at fault so he’d be off to jail in the end!) There are a ton of characters in this book, so the it almost could be anyone. They all have a motive or a secret to hide. I certainly didn’t expect that ending!

Thanks to Kimberly McCreight, Knopf and NetGalley for providing the advance copy!

The title, cover, and description drew me in! The characters were relatable, and realistic which was a nice change. There is a lot of different things to keep track of in this book. The plot could have been less complex as with the list of characters. The structure of the book was lovely but I think with the complexities it's definitely a read twice book.

Thanks to NetGalley and Knopf, Pantheon, Vintage, and Anchor for sending me an ARC of Like Mother, Like Daughter in exchange for an honest review.

Read this book in 2 days. Really good story but it is hard to follow at first. There's lots of character development happening all at once. But once you can get them all straightened out, it becomes easier to follow the story. The story however is really good. Lots of twists and turns and kept me wanting to know what was coming next.

Like Mother, Like Daughter by Kimberly McCreight is a fast paced novel that moves quickly from the moment Cleo finds her mother missing when she arrives for dinner until it skids into the ending! There are many twists and turns and so many characters to keep track of it gets confusing. However, if you like thrillers, this is a great one. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

This was a great thriller with frustrating family relationships that build great tension, and twists and turns that you don't see coming! I was sometimes confused by the characters and the changing point of view, but all in all it was a great read.

This book was SO GOOD. kept me absolutely hooked all the way through. The plot points were very well connected. Sometimes with thrillers I have a hard time keeping track of people or making connections but that didn’t happen with this book. I was still shocked at the end though!

Thank you, NetGalley and Knopf, Pantheon, Vintage, and Anchor hooks for this advanced reader’s copy. This was fun ride! I have read many of Kimberly McCreight’s previous thrillers and was excited to read this new one. Mother-daughter relationships are always interesting and can be fraught with challenges and conflict and this story is no exception. Lots of twists and turns expected of a good thriller. I won’t give away any secrets, but definitely worth the read. McCreight is an automatic purchase for me because I know she will deliver a solid and fun thriller that I won’t be able to figure out the full gist.

If you are looking for a quick thriller, Like Mother, Like Daughter is just that. It goes back and forth from different POVs, so if you don’t love that, this one isn’t for you. My biggest gripe was there was a lot of different characters to keep up with and you really had to keep focus with it jumping around. The book was good, but I liked Kimberly McCreight’s other book, A Good Marriage, a lot more. 2.5 rounded up to 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

At first, the pieces of the story are hard to connect. Then they do - and you have to question….everything. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but wish there had been a little more character development in the beginning chapters. However, that being said,I will definitely be reserving the author’s other books because I enjoyed the suspense and the plot twists throughout.

I really enjoyed this mystery! The different perspectives kept it interesting and shockingly, I did not figure out the "twist" right away. That being said, the twist was only a shock because the author set up multiple high stakes problems simultaneously for the "victim" making the story a bit convoluted. I also found Kat's job to be really confusing and at odds with her personality. But overall, I enjoyed reading 90% of this book, it was just the last 10% that felt a little too contrived and not at all realistic.

I struggled with this one. The book moves very quickly, and the cast of characters is way too big. The storyline is interesting, which is what drew me to the book. Unfortunately, it was just too convoluted, and I lost interest halfway through. I did finish it, but the ending was just okay. Not a bad read by any means, just a confusing one. Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author, for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Whoa - this book has a LOT going on. I had about 20 working theories throughout and some of them were right but the way it all came together was exciting.

Like Mother Like Daughter follows Cleo discovering her mother is missing with a puddle of blood left behind. It follows her attempt at finding out what happened. We also jump back to Kats POV leading up to her disappearance.

I felt like there were so many sub plots and storylines that I just ended up being a little confused. There were also quite a few things that weren’t resolved in the end and that left me wanting a few more pages.

Overall, I enjoyed it! It was an exciting ride and I liked how the chapters were split up with journal entries, therapy transcripts, etc.

Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC!

Overall this was a pretty good story. I liked the storytelling featuring a complex mother/daughter relationship, however I did find the dual POV and timelines a little hard to follow.
