Great read from beginning to end. I was rapt from the start and although I thought I had guessed the twist, boy was I wrong and I enjoy being wrong on that front. I don't think I have ever read a book by this author before but will certainly start now.

This book was a great ride and I finished in a day. One mother goes missing and one daughter tries to find her. Their relationship is very strained but as the daughter tries to find out what happened to her mom, you can start to see the mutual understanding she begins to develop for her. the story telling on different timelines was easy to follow and made for a quick read. Not too many characters to keep track of and the book was very well developed. I will be buying a physical copy when published and sharing this one with friends. SOOOOOOO GOOD!!! Thank you Netgalley for the advanced digital copy!!!

Kimberly McCreight does it again! This book is fast-paced, and it grabs your attention right from the beginning. McCreight showcases the dynamic between mothers and daughters and throws in a missing person with several twists and turns that have you wanting to read just one more chapter every time you try to put it down. Go ahead and see if you can do it! McCreight's Reconstructing Amelia was my first mixed-media book and she has been an automatic read for me ever since. I was ecstatic to have the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book - thank you to NetGalley and Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group!

This author is always a win for me and this book was no exception! She did a great job weaving multiple storylines seamlessly together and it was fun watching the puzzle pieces fall into place. I didn’t see that ending coming at all! I’m looking forward to recommending this near publication and will also be suggesting it for my book club. Thanks so much for the opportunity to read!

I really enjoyed this book a lot. The characters, relationships and dialogue all felt realistic. There was enough suspicion about enough people that it created excellent tension, and I did not figure it all out. Also, some nice twists. Reading is my reward at the end of the day, after I've accomplished whatever I'm going to get done that day. You know it's a good book when I decide to read first, and attack my "to do"list later! This was the first book I'd read by this author, but it won't be my last. Of course, I may have to hire somebody to the stuff on my "to do" list!

Loved it! Very engaging right from the beginning and hard to put down. Alternating viewpoints between mother and daughter, with some old journal entries as well, and short chapters make it an easy read. Twisty but not too dark. Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this page-turner about a mother and daughter, and the secrets they kept from each other. Daughter Cleo arrives at mom Katrina‘s house for dinner. But what she discovers when she arrives is no Katrina, burned food, and a bloody shoe. The story then shifts between present day and events starting eight days ago. While I thoroughly enjoyed the character development of Katrina and Cleo, I was especially drawn in by all the secondary characters. It would be a spoiler to mention them specifically. I’ve been a fan of this author for a long time, and she continues to remain on my auto-read list.
Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

It’s a yes for me! Like Mother, Like Daughter really hit the spot and is so worth the read! I’m even considering buying the psychical book when it comes out. Thanks NetGalley!

I really liked this book. Mother/daughter relationships are never easy, but this story was REALLY well thought out. Chapters went back and forth between Cleo's viewpoint and Kates. Kate's story is all about the past, while all of Cleo's story is about the present - not too surprising since the book started out with Kate being missing, But what we saw is the agony Kate went through, seeing her daughter becoming more and more distant in the past, while Cleo is learning more and more about her mother and how Cleo hadn't really appreciated everything her mother did. Plus, it didn't hurt that her father showed her quite clearly what a lying jerk he actually was. So while the book is about trying to find out what happened to Kate, I found myself both regretting what had gone on in the past and hoping that Kate would be found so she and Cleo could finally be close the way they both wanted.

This is a very well written and engaging thriller that drew me in from the start!
The book centers around Kat and her daughter Cleo, who have a tense and challenging relationship. Cleo arrives back at the family home to find her mother missing and signs of struggle evident. The story unfolds from there, with Kat's perspective on what led up to her disappearance and the multiple threats she was facing, and Cleo's perspective in the hours following it as she tries to untangle the web of lies she uncovers to find the truth, and hopefully her mother.
McCreight did a good job of keeping me guessing with this one. There were a few twists I figured out ahead of time, but even they twisted again to surprise me.
If you are a thriller fan, I definitely would put this on your TBR list.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book.
The characters of Kat and Cleo are strong and thoroughly developed. I did not care for Kat at all due to her treatment of her daughter, Cleo, but as the book developed I began to connect with her feeling and as Cleo's relationship with her mother gre so did my feeling for Kat.
The book was a roller coaster ride and I couldn't put it down. I was guessing and changing my mind at every turn of the page.
Thoroughly enjoyed.
Recomnend.

College student Cleo is called home by her overprotective mother, but when she gets home she discovers blood, her mom's shoe, and no mom. The more and more she digs in to find out what happened, the more she finds out her mother is not the person she thought her to be. In fact, most of what she thought of her family is not as it appears. The more she digs, the more her own life is threatened.

4/5 ⭐️ enjoyed the book :) this review is posted to my Goodreads account.
This book was a really quick read for me (3ish hours). Definitely enjoyed the plot but felt like the book jumped in some spots, like the therapy session entries. I think it would have been more interesting to put the journal entries from the mom in there for more background.
The ending was definitely NOT something I expected so hats off to the writer for pulling that one together!

This book starts off with a bang when a college-aged daughter goes to visit her mother and finds her missing- front door open with her dinner still cooking in the kitchen. I liked the way the POV switches back and forth between the mother (leading up to the incident) and the daughter (after the incident). Overall, I thought the pacing was good, but not fast and zippy enough for me to really categorize it as a thriller- so more of a mystery. We get into some of the details of both of their lives (which aren't hugely interesting), but the tension between the back and forth and wanting to know what happened to the mother kept me reading.

This is my first Kimberly McCreight book, and it won’t be my last. This suspenseful novel captivated me in the prologue and kept me wanting more throughout the entire book. Like Mother, Like Daughter takes place in NYC where the mother, Kat, is known as a high-powered corporate lawyer to her family but this isn’t the only lie of hers that will be discovered. Kat is not a corporate lawyer, she is a successful fixer for some questionable clients of her firm. Unknowingly, this has put her and her family in danger. Her daughter, Cleo, is a student at NYU and is going through a rough patch in her relationship with her mother. When Kat goes missing, secrets of her past, her current clients troubles, and her watchful eye on Cleo become known as Cleo tries to find her mother. This twisting story has Cleo discovering secrets about her family that intertwine with her current life all while trying to find out what happened to her mom before it is too late. Throughout the book. The story shows a profound love between mother and daughter and the lengths a mother will go to protect her daughter to show that love and the love a daughter gives in return to do the same. A great twisting read that kept me coming back for more. Can’t wait to read more by Kimberly McCreight.
Thank you NetGalley, Kimberly McCreight, and KNOPF for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow. There were so many times throughout this book that I thought I had it solved. I even found myself thinking about the characters and what ifs when I wasn’t reading. If you’re looking for a good suspenseful and captivating story, I would definitely recommend this one!

I loved this book! I feel in move with the author when I read Reconstructing Amelia.
The bot is about Kat, a mother, wife and fixer, who goes missing and appears to be most likely dead.
Kat's daughter. Cleo, knows she sho6ukd let the police investigation but she's inpatient and needs to find her Mom before its too late.

Multiple timeframes and shifting perspectives. Good characterization. A New York setting. Just my kind of novel. Plus twists and turns. Enjoyed it a lot.
Thank you #NetGalley and #Knopf for the opportunity to read an advanced copy.

This was a good, quick read for a Sunday afternoon. The story is told from the perspective of a mother/daughter duo from before and after the mother goes missing. Lots of suspects and red herrings. While I did figure out who was sending the messages pretty early on, the ride getting there was fun and kept me turning pages. I loved the dual perspective and past/present timelines. Definitely give this one a shot!
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Really enjoyed this book. It was not what I expected, and at first the back and forth timelines were a little confusing, but the author brought it all together at the end. The ending was very unexpected and well done. Certainly a page turner.
