Three siblings have come together after the death of their mom. Beth was staying with her mom while she was sick and on hospice and had been more present. Nicole, has had drug dependency issues and has not been reliable to Beth. And Michael moved away and became successful in his career. They come together and come across a tape that may give some answers to a disappearance many years ago. How the siblings determine to help solve a mystery while dealing with their own past demons comes together nicely.

Jeneva Rose is a lovely human being, and I was thrilled to get her latest book signed at PLA! The cover is so fun and the synopsis was also of interest. While I wasn't blown away with the ending as it was pretty predictable, and the writing style was repetitive, it's a nice popcorn-y thriller with short chapters and different points of view.
"Your father. He didn't disappear. Don't trust..." These are the last words uttered by Beth's mom, a woman with more secrets than anyone realized. Beth's semi-estranged siblings, Michael, a wealthy tech guru, and Nicole, a drug addict, arrive to bury their mother and clean out the family house. They come across a home video recording by their parents and decide to watch it for nostalgia's sake, but what they wind up seeing is their father covering up a murder. What happened that night, and why has this secret stayed buried for so long?
A Quick and Thrilling read, this would be a good Beach read since it doesn't require a lot of focus.
A huge thank you to the publisher and author for an ARC!

3 Estranged Siblings, 2 Missing Person Cases, and 1 Family Secret
What would you do if you found something incriminating on your family’s old VHS tapes? Well, that’s what happens when Beth, Nicole, and Michael are tasked with cleaning out their deceased mother’s home. A video that means their parents might have had something to do with a missing neighborhood kid in the 90’s.
Incredibly addictive and fast paced, I was absolutely obsessed with this story and finished it in less than 24 hours. I guessed the ending, but I had so much fun getting there that really… who cares? It was a twisty-turny ride and I loved the different POVs of the siblings. Pick this one up for an entertaining horror/mystery read!

Beth's mother is on hospice and after many life-changing events in their family’s lives, Beth hopes that her mom will finally find rest. Time is working against Laura as she uses her last few breaths to share with Beth words that leave her daughter confused about the past and if her childhood was built on lies….
Beth's siblings Michael and Nicole arrive too late to say goodbye to their mother. Their father had disappeared 3 years ago, so it's just the three of them that need to work together to close this chapter. Michael has a successful career; he made it out of Allen's Grove and didn't look back. Nicole, has struggled with addiction for years after recovering from an accident that left her addicted to pain medications. And Beth stayed behind and stayed involved in her parents lives just to end up living a mediocre life.
As the 3 of them work together to clean out their childhood home, they discover a VHS tape that could tie their parents to the 1999 murder of a young neighbor girl, Emma. Confused and shocked by what they just watched, each of the siblings finds themselves in a sticky situation. Do they share this discovery with Emma's brother and mother, who are still alive, or let the secret die with their mother? As history is unraveled and lies and secrets are discovered, a long-ago tragedy will become an all-consuming nightmare. But where there's one body, there might just be more. Who's responsible, why were these deaths covered up, and what happens now? Enter into Jeneva Rose's thrilling tale of home literally being where the bodies are.

I’ve read two other books by Jeneva Rose, and this is her best one yet! It’s dark, sad, and suspenseful. The characterizations are incredibly written, and the story bounces back and forth through multiple POVs and different timelines that hooked me and made it hard to stop reading after each chapter. Definitely a winner in my book!

I tried this author for a second time and no luck. I do not care for the writing style. Some people may enjoy it but not for me.

"Home is Where the Bodies Are" is a gripping thriller that draws readers into a story of secrets, addiction, murder, and fractured relationships. With its rapid pace and short chapters, this novel is sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page (although I did think the ending could have been just one chapter shorter, and ended with either Nicole or Beth's perspective--not both).
The plot revolves around a disconnected family grappling with the death of their mother and buried (literally) secrets about their father and neighbor. Told through multiple points of view, each character adds layers to the narrative, with Beth and Laura having the most depth. I didn't see the twists coming, and this would be a suggested read for fans of Freida McFadden, Sophie Hannah, and Nicola Sanders.

This was my first Jeneva Rose book, and I don’t think it will be my last. This story quickly drew me in and captivated me throughout. I’ve seen several people saying they figured out the mystery 25-30% into the book, but I was reading to be entertained and didn’t work it out until near the end. Jeneva write well and her characters are real enough to keep you interested. The siblings in the book have some issues to work out on top of the mess left behind by the death of their mother, which also helps drive the story along. I read this book as a palate cleanser from all the romance I had been reading lately, and it was perfect for that. Was it the biggest AHA ever? No, but it was a fun read. Thanks for the opportunity to read an ARC, NetGalley! Always appreciated…

This was an amazing read. I had suspicions on who the culprit was, but never in a million years would I have guessed all of the twists this book threw at me. This was my first time reading Jeneva Rose, and it certainly will not be my last.

This was fun but sort of predictable. By the end I wasn't really shocked. This did read like a good criminal minds plot though, which I enjoyed. I think it's a good thriller overall.

First, thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sending me the e-arc for this title. I love Jeneva Rose's writing and the stories she puts out. I absolutely loved getting a POV from each of the siblings. I loved watching them uncover layer after layer of family secrets and their pettiness while doing so.

When Beth, the oldest of three children, holds her mother's hand as she passes, she is stunned to hear her mother's last words that feel like a confession and warning...Now Beth and her siblings have found evidence of what happened to the missing friend from their childhood. Whose to blame and what secrets will they uncover.
I am a big Jeneva Rose fan! I love both her romance and thriller novels and look forward to any new releases. This was one I was very excited to get my hands on. I mean, the title alone has me chomping at the bit to read it.
I really think this is one of Jeneva's best. It was pretty predictable, I figured out the "twist" within the first few chapters...but it was such a wild ride. Predictability is not always bad!
This one is out 4/30 and it is a definite must read!

4.5 stars!!! Extremely engaging, read the whole book on a plane ride. I loved the interactions with the siblings and trying to solve the story with them was very fun. I will be reading more from this author in the future

Thank you so much Netgalley and Libro.fm for my copy of this book! It was a quick read with lots of tension. The multiple narrators made this book even more enjoyable. I liked the way the author discussed grief and how it impacts people in different ways.

I really enjoyed this one! I've read all of Jeneva Rose's books and this is now my second favorite behind One Of Us Is Dead (so fun!).
I was hooked from the start, though I must admit that I didn't love the whole "here is my deathbed confession, of course I waited until the very last second and won't finish my sentence before I die" aspect, but I realize if she did then we wouldn't have had a book. That's not a spoiler, it's literally the very beginning of the novel. I also enjoyed the multiple POVs and timelines, I thought they were well executed.
I loved how twisty the ending became and once I hit around 80% I couldn't stop. I do wish that the book had a little more going on before the twisty ending though - I learned with You Shouldn't Have Come Here that Jeneva Rose likes to leave all the action for the very end, but I was hoping this one would be a tad more evenly paced.
I did listen to this one along with the reading the ebook and thought the audiobook was very well done!

Thank you to Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing for early access to Home Is Where The Bodies Are in exchange for a truthful review.
Not too much to say about this one, it’s fast-paced, I loved the premise (grieving kids find evidence of a murder cover-up by their parents on an old VHS tape!), but the writing wasn’t for me. Your mileage may vary, so I’d still recommend checking it out – there’s enough intrigue amongst the coincidence and cliche to keep you going, even if you’ll see the twist coming almost immediately. Wish I’d liked it more, maybe next time.

My first Jeneva Rose book and I do have to admit I'm impressed by her writing. I was gripped enough with her writing that it only took me about 4 hours to finish. Granted it was a shorter book with short chapters so that really helped to speed it along. I loved all of the family drama, three siblings coming together after years apart due to their mother's death. I really enjoyed the twists in this book and how the author didn't elude to or drop clues about certain aspects, they were just BAM, all of a sudden there. I am a little disappointed that I guessed the big twist not even halfway through the book but it really didn't take away any of my enjoyment in reading this. The ending was very well fleshed out and I really enjoyed each of the character's individual conclusions. Overall not a bad thriller and I'm looking forward to reading the author's other books.

While it took me some days to read this book I found it enjoyable. I was often left guessing what was going on and who was guilty of what-only to have the truth to take me by surprise. There's always so much revealed when someone dies whether it be someones true colors coming to light or even buried secrets coming uncovered that inevitably shatter lives. This story deals with that very situation as three estranged siblings are reunited after their mother's passing. Finding some old VHS tapes unearths a festering can of worms that hides the secrets into the disappearances of two young girls and two grown men who were never heard from again. While crimes in the present are a lot easier to solve given the advancements in technology, not everything remains hidden as the truth always finds a way.

The sibling drama on this one kept me intrigued and also the hidden video aspect, but it did seem a bit farfetched that the parents were able to hide what they did and also that the dad just left his family. Odd.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for review.
Trigger warnings for drug addiction and withdrawal.
This is the story of 3 siblings whose mother passes away and reunites them. They all have flaws and toxic traits and secrets, which didn't endear to them all of the time. There is a lot of drama in their little cul-de-sac: a young neighbor girl goes missing, then a teen goes missing, then the suspicious grumpy neighbor goes missing, and then their father goes missing...but the police don't see any connection to these things?? At times I enjoyed this, especially as it flashed back to the 90s. I appreciated the reveals at the end. There could have been more editing here and there, as some parts dragged on...it seemed like all the characters ever did was sit down to drink.
