I really loved the premise on this one. So intriguing.

I did find it slow at parts but i still enjoyed it. I also think the author did really well with developing very different characters and really giving them a different path and distinction. Each character was well developed.

I was so mind boggled about what really happened and i wasn’t entirely sure. Even up until the reveal. I had a suspicion but i wasn’t really sure.

I really liked how it concluded as well. The tension was HIGH!!

And the little bit of romance in this… i wanted it and i liked it. I was a nice little interlude to the atmosphere. Which was thiccccc!

Definitely had some things i didn’t see coming. Very solid read.

I like Jeneva Rose as her books are a quick read. The also keep me interested and the endings usually are a surprise. This book was no exception. Every chapter revealed just enough to keep you guessing until the guilty party is finally revealed!

This was okay! I think this author is just not for me, even though this is my favorite from them. People who enjoy twisty stories could like this one, but personally it didn't blow me away at any point.

Meh. Historically, I’m not a big Jeneva Rose fan, but this summary intrigued me so I wanted to give her writing another chance. Overall, it was an okay read (especially the first half) but I found it boring and it lost me in the end. The twist was not surprising to me and while the premise was really fascinating, it fell flat at the conculsion.

Fast-paced thriller told in four different viewpoints. To preface this, I’m absolutely horrendous at figuring out the twist in suspense novels, I am almost always shocked. But I had no idea of the ending of this one and how everyone got into it - and I like that everything was wrapped up at the end.

Even though the voice for all four main characters generally sounded the same, it was always easy to remember whose chapter it was because they were short and full of little details to remind you. As you neared the end of the novel you really did start to question some characters and wonder if any of the main characters were reliable narrators… except interestingly enough, I trusted the “least trustworthy” one the most! My only gripe with the characters is that I didn’t necessarily feel like they were upper 30’s/40’s. Beth I felt was almost a decade younger than she really was, so that kept throwing me off.

Overall an enjoyable read to get over a reading slump. Loved the references to small town 90’s culture, I genuinely felt like I was back in time living my childhood. Which, thankfully, went much smoother than this family’s did.

Another unputdownable book by Jeneva Rose! When I saw Jeneva was putting out a new book, I knew I HAD to get my hands on it. And this novel did not disappoint!! This book has twists and turns, family drama, and is SO well written. I did not see the plot twist coming! Another fast paced thriller novel for Rose that kept me wondering if I solved it till the end! What a read I had a hard time putting this one down! I loved the alternating POV between the siblings, and while I couldn't stand some of them, they were all incredibly well-written and developed. Lots of twists and turns that would be perfect to discuss as a book club pick - the writing and plotline reminded me a lot of a grown up Holly Jackson or Karen McManus novel. This was my first read by Rose and it certainly won't be my last - thanks so much for the ARC!

Man, this was a really fast read. I couldn't put it down. The author did a great job with the multiple POV's. Can't recommend this one enough!

Jeneva does it again!

Master of a twist and an expert at making you question yourself, this was a fast paced thrill from start to finish! One of the best thrillers I’ve read this year.

Home is Where the Bodies Are is a fast-paced and suspenseful domestic thriller about family and hidden secrets. This is the first book I've read by Jeneva Rose and I wasn't at all disappointed – she's obviously a talented writer, somewhat reminiscent of Lisa Unger or Sally Hepworth.

The premise of this book is definitely original and kept me turning the pages. When estranged siblings Beth, Michael, and Nicole stumble across a video tape that possibly implicates their father in a crime that occurred years prior, they start to uncover family secrets that might be better left buried. I correctly guessed the twist pretty early on (probably around the 20% mark), but it didn't particularly take away from my enjoyment of the story. I knew the who but not the how or why, so I was eager to continue reading to find out all the details … and it was certainly a wild ride!

The murder mystery itself (what happened to Emma?) was well-written and suspenseful, although certain parts of the big reveal were very much resolved via a deus ex machina that neatly summed everything up for the siblings toward the end.

Like a lot of thrillers, it was a little too melodramatic for my tastes at times, but not ridiculously so. I enjoyed “watching” the siblings navigate their fractured relationships, and the budding romance between Beth and Lucas wasn't too obnoxious as far as those sort of things go. None of the siblings were all that likeable – there was a lot of squabbling and pettiness from each of them – but I suppose that's to be expected considering the circumstances. I couldn't help but feel for Nicole, though, with everyone constantly cutting her down due to her past addictions (Beth in particular was extra judgy and mean).

Oh, and I definitely appreciated the pop culture references in the flashback chapters. I'm not much older than Beth, the oldest of the siblings, and can totally relate to teenage years involving Nirvana t-shirts, Sony Discmans, and crimped hair.

Overall, this was an exciting read that kept me reading well into the night, long after I should have been in bed. It wasn't perfect but it was certainly entertaining, and I look forward to reading more by Jeneva Rose in the future.

Final rating: 3.7 stars, rounded up.

This book was so great!! It kept me guessing the whole time and the ending did not disappoint! This was my first Jeneva Rose book and it most definitely won't be my last!

So…three estranged siblings reunite after their mom passes. While cleaning out the house they come across some old VHS tapes and they pop one in the VCR to reminisce. Well - what appears on the screen is the body of a girl who went missing when they were kids and their dad (who is also missing) covered in blood! And that’s just the beginning of this story…

This book is probably my current favorite by this author. I have read all but one of hers so far and love them all but this one to me is her best one yet.

This was a quick, entertaining read. Although the twist was not surprising, I liked seeing the story play out.

HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE had me hooked from the beginning. It's fast-paced, mysterious and spooky. I enjoy books told in multiple POV and this kept me on my toes. After Laura dies, Beth, Nicole and Michael are reunited after some time apart. When they find a box of old videos in the attic of their childhood home, they decide to reminisce and watch them together. What they don't expect is to find their father covered in blood with a dead body. Jeneva Rose is a brilliant writer and I think her books just keep getting better and better. Make sure to read her acknowledgments at the end, she may or may not have a secret to share.

A little over a year ago, I was scrolling Tiktok and came across a video about The Perfect Marriage. I didn't read at all, but it was so intriguing - I figured WHAT THE HELL, let's give it a whirl.
Damn was I over the moon when I could get enough of that book. It sparked my love for reading, and since - I've never looked back!

The tension, the suspense, and the layers of family secrets - make for the perfect unputdownable thriller.

OMG, it was fantastic🙌🏻. Dual timelines and multiple POVS are always a winner🏆 with me. A mother on her deathbed🙏🏻. Some spooky👻 last dying words. A missing father🔍. 3 siblings who resent each other. And multiple missing people in this tiny Wisconsin town.

The family dynamic was amazing. It never made you second guess the surprise ending. I had to pick my jaw off the floor because I swore it was so many other people. The small town setting and all the bits of nostalgia make this book hit so much closer to home for me personally.

I don't want to go into too much detail except PREORDER THIS NOW!!!!!

THE TWIST QUEEN IS BACK! I have never read an author who can psych me out and make me doubt my opinions more than Geneva Rose. Home Is Where The Bodies Are is her boldest, twistiest, gasp inducing novel yet- and I couldn't put it down once I started. From the moment she gave us the briefest of descriptions while on her last thriller book tour, this novel has had a spot on my most anticipated list and it did not disappoint! Twists, turns, and lies are aplenty- but so are heart, healing past trauma, and delving into the life you're living. An amazing read from an amazing author.

Geneva Rose always crafts stories that you think you know the ending to UNTIL you get to the ending. Another perfectly paced mind blowing thriller! I gasped, I laughed, I saw myself with the characters, it was a beautiful read.
