Thank you, partner @Bibliolifestyle, @BlackstonePublishing, @NetGalley & @JenevaRoseAuthor for gifted ARC & HC.

Jeneva Rose is an auto-buy/read author for me and, as always, she delivered on another amazing thriller!

Beth, Michael & Nicole have gathered together to mourn the death of their recently deceased mother & to go through her home and wrap up her Estate. The siblings have been estranged for years & none hold as big of a chip on their shoulder as Beth, who is the sibling her stayed with their month while she was sick & present until her dying breath. It is seconds before that dying breath when her mother tells Beth their dad didn’t disappear and “don’t trust…..” She is unable to get the rest of that sentence out before she passes & Beth is left wondering who or what not to trust. Upon going through the home, the siblings find old VHS tapes & the very first one they watch shows their mother & father seemingly covering up the death of a young girl who went missing when they were young. But how did she die? Who killed her? What happened to her body since she was never found? Just remember the title of the book!

This story is told from multiple POVs of each sibling, plus their mother. There were very tense family dynamics throughout & TONS of secrets. I did know who the ultimate “bad guy” was from close to the beginning, but I still enjoyed the story & how it played out. These siblings are super dysfunctional, so go ahead & grab your popcorn just for that drama, alone! With the quick pace & NEED of finding out what happened to Emma & their dad, you’ll definitely not be disappointed in adding this book to your TBR!

Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Home is Where the Bodies Are is definitely something I could see adapted into a TV series. It's a fantastic blend of mystery and thriller, and incredible character work that is the hallmark of longform storytelling.

The book follows three siblings that return to their hometown upon the death of their mother. However, secrets and bodies have been buried that start to unearth, and it shakes this family to their core. Each chapter is written in the first person perspective of the different family members, jumping in time as well, between the present day, and to the POV of their mother, in the past. This really allowed me to feel like I was getting inside the mind of these siblings, and it helps to paint personal stakes across everything happening.

As the story goes on, light is shed and secrets are revealed, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I loved the jumps back and forth in time. Jeneva Rose really gets to the heart and trauma of these characters. I cant wait to add a physical copy to my collection.

The first novel by Jeneva Rose I have read, and what a story to jump into! I got startlement, a series of BIG shocks, an unexpected ending! Needless to say: can't-stop-reading! If that spooky title doesn't entice, what can I say? Prepare yourself with an X-Files "Trust No One" mindset, because believe me, you are going to need it. This story has more ups and downs than a mountain range, and author Jeneva Rose will keep you restrained in your position and your eyes wide open and heart in your throat. This is stay-up-all-night reading right here!

This was a super quick read as I flew through it in a day. I liked the multiple points of view and hearing the thoughts of each of the characters. My biggest complaint is that it was so predictable.

HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE was a super quick and fun read, reminiscient of other Jeneva Rose books. The pacing was great as the twists kept coming, and the ending was a satisfying conclusion for the various characters. The quick jumps in timeline were well done and kept the narrative moving.

Thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the opportunity to read and review HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing for my copy of this book. This was a domestic thriller about three siblings, Beth, Nicole, and Michael, coming together for the first time in years after their mothers death

Beth was with her mother during her final moments and receive a cryptic last word from her mother. After this Beth doesn't know what to think and starts to doubt her siblings. Then they uncover a VHS showing that her parents helped cover up a murder of a young girl years ago.

I love the premise of this book and is on par for Jeneva's previous writing, I was confused however when the narrator switched and the ARC was not clear who was giving their view of events. Mainly for me this was michael's view.

The end was a little lack luster for me and I would've liked to see more of Micheal's POV after the book resolved.

Summary- After their mother passes, three estranged siblings reunite to sort out her estate. Beth, the oldest, never left home. She stayed with her mom, caring for her until the very end. Nicole, the middle child, has been kept at arm’s length due to her ongoing battle with a serious drug addiction. Michael, the youngest, lives out of state and hasn’t been back to their small Wisconsin town since their father ran out on them seven years before.

While going through their parent’s belongings, the siblings stumble upon a collection of home videos and decide to revisit those happier memories. However, the nostalgia is cut short when one of the VHS tapes reveals a night back in 1999 that none of them have any recollection of. On screen, their father appears covered in blood. What follows is a dead body and a pact between their parents to get rid of it, before the video abruptly ends.

Beth, Nicole, and Michael must now decide whether to leave the past in the past or uncover the dark secret their mother took to her grave.

My Thoughts- this one was SO good!! Such a quick read, with a pretty wild twist I didn’t see coming! I loved this book SO much, it was such a fun mystery. I really enjoyed following all of the siblings, they were such complicated characters to like and root for. I love when characters are super dynamic and they’re not really people you want to like or root for. Overall very fun read that probably could have been a bit longer to explore some of the topics touched on. I also would have enjoyed more backstory on the twist of this book, but this was a great mystery !

You know what makes the PERFECT concoction for a PERFECT story? A book written by Jeneva Rose set in the late nineties in a (real) Wisconsin town where a family is hiding very dirty, illegal secrets!🙀Oh, and of course, that VHS cover!

Three siblings come together at Allen’s Grove to settle the estate of their mother, Laura, who has just passed away. Beth is the sister who feels that all the caregiving had been unfairly placed on her. Nicole, the other sister, is a drug addict, and Beth feels she’s had to take care of her too. Michael, the brother, left for California long ago and has never looked back until now. Unbeknownst to Nicole and Michael, Laura has left a very cryptic message to Beth right before her last breath.

When the sibling reunite, they uncover a VHS tape recorded by Laura that reveals their parents hid a very nasty secret all these years, a secret if revealed could upend all their lives. Beth and the siblings must solve the mystery and come to terms with who can be trusted and what can be shared.

The chapters alternate among the three siblings, as well as Laura in 1999, where the nasty events begin to unfold. The chapters are short and suck you in right away with Jeneva’s amazing storytelling. I read this book in one sitting and couldn’t help but turn the pages fast enough to find out what’s been going down with this family (pun intended).
Fun fact in case you didn’t know: Allen’s Grove is Jeneva’s hometown so hopefully her home is nothing like in the book 👀😹

Home is Where the Bodies Are is a thriller diving into the secrets and lies that are hidden within families. The story begins with three siblings who come together to put their mother to rest. As they begin to go through their mother’s possessions they find evidence that their parents may have been involved in a murder. The story is told from the different perspectives of the children and also the perspective of their mom. I really enjoyed the character development and how I could see the story from each person’s eyes. The story shows that even in death secrets won’t remain hidden. I recommend this book for readers who loves thrillers and mysteries!

The cover instantly drew me to this novel but when I started reading it, I was hooked. I loved all the POV’s. 3 siblings who reunite after the death of their mother. It was tense and I couldn’t put the book down!

Three siblings come together after their mom dies and past events come to light. Their father had disappeared seven years prior with no updates and their mom hints with her last words that she knew what may have happened with him. The siblings find an old VHS tape that leads them to suspect their parents in the murder of a girl who went missing when they were children, As they piece together what happened in the past, it leads them closer to home than they thought. Overall, a decent mystery that starts a little slow but then does tie everything together in the end. The characters weren't particularly likeable, but the family dynamic was the main focus of the book.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for allowing me to read an ARC of this book.

This book is told from rotating first-person narratives of three estranged siblings -- Beth, Nicole, and Michael whose father had ran out on them 7 years previous. Beth had been the one caring for their mother until her death, and now the other two have returned to help sort out the estate. While sorting through their parents belongings, the siblings come across a collection of home videos and decide to play them and reminisce. However, one of the tapes is different and holds the key to deadly family secret their mother had taken to the grave. The siblings must decide to look further into their father's suspicious disappearance and its link to long-unsolved neighborhood mystery. Or should they just leave the past in the past where it belongs. Because something sinister is at play and they might not like the answers they find.

This book is a twisty thriller full of dark family secrets. Those that love a good murder mystery and suspenseful thrills will enjoy this read.

Another fast paced twisty thriller from Jeneva Rose!

In this book we are following 3 estranged siblings after the death of their mom. While going through old video footage of the family they stumbled upon something they shouldn't have seen and sends the siblings spiraling and looking for answers.

I would 100% recommend this book I had such a fun time reading it. Did I guess some of the twist? Yes. But that did take away from my enjoyment of the book.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

"Home Is Where the Bodies Are" is a fast, chaotic, twisty read that will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions and keep the pages turning. Told from multiple POVs Jeneva Rose delivers readers a domestic thriller that readers can devour in one setting. I love the unreliable narrators and the character driven plot.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the free e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I have become a fan of Jeneva Rose and this story does not disappoint! This is a fast-paced, suspenseful domestic drama that pits three siblings against one another in the wake of their mother’s death and shocking will. I loved learning about the characters and their struggles with addiction and grief. The dialog between the siblings is very real with testy and tense exchanges. There are so many family secrets woven through the story.

Rose is such a talented writer and I was excited to read this! Looking forward to more great reads from her. Highly recommend!!!

I’m a big Jeneva Rose fan so this one was so easy for me to rate. Five stars. Nostalgic and twisty—it’s a lot of fun.

This was really good and I didn't necessarily see the end coming. It did feel a little rushed but overall very good.

I really enjoyed reading Home Is Where the Bodies Are. This definitely has more mystery vibes then thriller vibes. All the characters have moments where they all suck but you also care about what’s going on to them. You understand that Beth is at her wits end. You understand that Nicole is struggling with addiction. You get the messed up family dynamic. Everyone has been more effected by Emma’s murder as kids then they let on. The secrets just continue to unravel after their mothers death.

Home Is Where The Bodies Are is a fast-paced domestic thriller, that jumps right into the action without much backstory (which I love)

Beth is at her mother’s side for her dying breaths, but her mother tells Beth her father didn’t disappear and that she “shouldn’t trust…” but passes before she finishes the sentence. Beth doesn’t get much time to dwell before hot shot brother Michael and her addict sister Nicole arrive.

While emptying their parents house, they discover something gruesome on a family vhs tape… their parents dispose of a body of a girl who went missing when they were children. There’s not much more than a few moments of tape, and it leaves lots of questions. And then the tape is erased. DUN DUN DUN.

Holy crap, Jeneva! What a fun plot!!

I enjoyed the dynamic of the siblings a lot, and their personalities made the ending so much more exciting.

I went into this one knowing Jeneva is the queen of pulling the rug out from under her reader’s, and maybe I’ve just read all of her books and know exactly how she’d kill somebody, because I did guess this ending fairly early on. But!! that didn’t make the ride any less fun!

4.8! A must read this summer!

Omg !!!! I really thought I knew where this book was going. I thought I predicted just who did what. Was I wrong ? Yes! Did Jeneva fool me again? Yes! Am I upset? No! This book had me turning page after page. I was so invested in figuring out who was the culprit. The book started off slowly, but really set the stage. Once we got the story moving, it never stopped. It jumped from past to present and really added to the story. The climax lived up to the hype and had me SHOCKED! This book is a truly a must-read! You will not regret it.
