I was pleasantly surprised by this amazing mindfulness book for children. To be honest it's one of the best selfhelp books, that I read in general.
The way it's writen engages you from the first pages, the illustrations are sweet and in some way calming - perfect for mindfulness book.
But what I loved the most about this book is that there's no nonsence, just concrete steps you have to do to achieve sertain goal, wether it is to calm yourself before sleep, or take your minds away from the negative things happening around you. And what is great about this book, is that it's perfect for all age groups. I think it's the first selfhelp book were instead of telling what you have to do, it's gives you tips of how to do things.
This book is perfect for family activities, it can help to know your child better. Also I think it could be usefull in schools, because in the age we live in, children definitely has to learn how to handle stress.

I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone afround me.

I am SO grateful that books like this exist! This colorful and sweetly illustrated book includes 50 different mindfulness exercises that kids can implement to better notice themselves, others, and the experiences that are right in front of them. Each activity is explained in several short paragraphs and gives kids sufficient information and food for thought. The activities are very simple and help to instill the principles of mindfulness and meditation that can help anyone invite more peace and appreciation into their life.

It's probably relevant that this is published by the Mayo Clinic Press Kids. It does exactly as stated in the title - 50 mindfulness activities. In the best possible way this book is simple. It doesn't prescribe these activities for any specific purpose. I really whish I'd had something like this when I first started experiencing anxiety as a 12 year-old. It took another 20 years for me to learn to breath properly. The tone of this book is positive and supportive, the activities are simple and accessible. It's a great resource for kids or care-givers.

I was given a free e-Arc in exchange for an honest review. thanks to NetGalley and the Mayo Clinic Press.

A brilliant collection of 50 mindful activities perfect for young and old, accompanied by bright and fun illustrations that make them visually appealing and instantly make you feel cheery. The 50 activities are divided into 6 different areas of mindfulness: breathing; listening; looking; emotions; awareness and appreciation. They are perfect for children to use on their own or with adults. I fully recommend to parents, teachers, caregivers, and those who help run groups or activities with children or families. The activities have had an instant calming effect on my own children and are a great way of bonding. Starting the day with some positivity, or taking a moment to to breathe and reflect have helped bring some positive changes to our routine and lives. #takeamoment #paulchristelis #netgalley

This collection of mindful activities is perfect for educators and caregivers of all kinds to pull from. This would work at home on a family bookshelf, in a classroom, and belongs with other books on emotions and mindfulness in children's library settings. Highly recommend! (And n.b. these also work for adults)
