Gorya Amurov maintains his calm facade no matter the provocation and has built himself a reputation of being the family peacekeeper.  Unbeknownst to his family his leopard is almost out of control and this last assignment that he takes on to head up a territory in Louisiana and put it to rights will most likely be his last. Little does he know that his life is about to change in far reaching ways.
Maya Averina has lived a life too sad and devastating to tell, now she has fashioned herself into a finely honed weapon avenging herself on all those who have harmed her and the people she considers family.  The last thing she expects is to be trapped by someone she would normally consider beneath her but before she can rescue herself a leopard sweeps in and rescues her.  A leopard with a familial line she has reason to hate.
Two damaged people brought together by events outside of their control, do they even have a chance of a future? The story takes them into the past and brings them back into the present as they battle old enemies and work hard to survive surrounded by Gorya's bodyguards and his cousin who has come to shield Gorya's back.
Another winner in the series, fast paced action with some suspense and unforeseen truths.

Leopard's Hunt is the next book in the leopard series by Christine Feehan. Fans of Feehan will enjoy this story. It brings back a number of familiar characters to support the main couple, and ties up some loose ends for the series story arch. That said, new readers to the series would be best advised to go back at least five books, if not entirely to book 1.
Gorya and Maya are both badly traumatized characters struggling to survive yet knowing death may be their only escape. I loved that while their connection was instant, the author took the time to show us their interactions and how the trust between them grew. The sexy scenes I would expect from Feehan definitely come, but not until later in the book but with the characters having gone through such horrifying experiences it made sense that they would take longer to physically connect.
I loved the twist at the end with Kian and hope he and his mate get a book for themselves!

This was a really great read! I saw somewhere, I think on Christine Feehan's website or blog, talking about how we had to get Leopard's Scar before we got this book, and since those two became the heads of security for Gorya, yeah, I'm glad that things ended up that way!

Goyra and Maya were such a great couple, they've both been beaten and broken by the world, they're both advanced, and their leopards get together so well. I had such a great time watching them work things out with each other, dealing with their issues, it was so great!

I am really hoping, for the sake of the characters, not for me, because I enjoy seeing the bad guys being taken down, that this was the final takedown of this particular bad guy and their crimes. Because they've put a lot of effort into it, and that particular crime is just awful, so I'm hopeful that they've stopped it for good by shifters, at the very least! But it was oh, so satisfying to watch them take out the bad guys!

I'm wondering if a future book, possibly the next one, but you never know until it's announced, will be be the couple that formed up right at the end of this book. I really hope we see their story, given how they're connected to Gorya and Maya, but who knows?

Loved reading this book and I can't wait for whatever comes next in the series!

Christine Feehan returns with another thrilling book in the paranormal romance and supernatural suspense Leopard series. Gorya Amurov is known as his family’s peacekeeper, but he and his leopard are barely under control. His harsh life has molded him into a savage fighter with a calm exterior which is what others see. He believes he would be better off dead. Maya Averina had a cruel childhood and has been years hunting and killing the criminals who destroyed her life. She keeps to herself and has never lost focus until now. An ambush takes her by surprise and now she’s a prisoner about to be sold to the highest bidder. She’s ready to fight her way out until a man arrives to set her free. They’re also both Amur leopard shifters.

As always, Feehan does an incredible job of bringing the main and secondary characters to life. Both Gorya and Maya are elite shifters with abilities beyond that of most others. They’re faster, stronger, move more stealthily, and have other unique abilities. Gorya’s leopard, Slayer, is a killer and difficult to control. Maya’s leopard is Wraith. She has protected Maya since Maya was a toddler. Gorya seems gentle and considerate when compared to his cousins. He sooths explosive situations and then fades into the background. Many consider him weak. He has recently taken over the lair in the Atchafalaya River Basin in Louisiana and many challenges are expected. Both had tragic and frightening childhoods and action-oriented careers. Each goes through a transformation as the story progresses. It was also great to reconnect with characters from previous books. This gave the series continuity and I enjoyed visited with old friends; especially Gedeon and Meiling. What a job interview they had!

While most of the novel takes place in Louisiana, there are also scenes in San Antonio and Houston, Texas as well as Russia and Panama. The world-building but good but not quite as great as the last book in the series where it was especially vivid.

The story grabbed my attention immediately and didn’t let up as I rapidly turned the pages. The deeply involved and multi-layered plot has some unpredictable moments that add suspense and danger including a surprise near the ending. The author balances the violent aspects of the novel with the intrigue, romance, suspense, work relationships, and the mending of two broken individuals. This novel features cruelty, power, death, greed, human trafficking, ill treatment of women and children, trust, friendship, acceptance, relationships, and much more. There is one long spicy and steamy scene.

Overall, this action-packed paranormal romantic suspense story has great characterization and pulls on the heart strings. It looks at a variety of types of relationships. Those who enjoy steamy and action-packed paranormal romantic suspense novels with compelling characters will likely enjoy this series. I have read more than seventy books by this author across multiple series. This one has the right mix of romance, tension, action, and a thrilling storyline. I’m looking forward to reading my next book by this author.

Berkley Publishing Group and Christine Feehan provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. Publication date is currently set for February 20, 2023.

What an extraordinary journey that immeasurably revolutionized my mind, completely transformed my heart, and irrevocably reshaped my worldview! Leopard's Hunt challenged my heart and showed me the true beauty of the human spirit. It is only through our desire to live and live a full life that we even think about allowing love to open our eyes and invade our hearts. Love can accomplish the impossible and heal the irreparable injuries sustained through this life. Open yourself and allow it to accomplish a miracle in your life. I guarantee that it will if you give it full reign because it won't stop until light has invaded every part of your soul.

Goaya has lived an incomprehensible life in order to accomplish his ultimate goal. No sacrifice is too great, and no battle is too too much. He is closer then ever to his life's mission, but with it comes great risk. Maya has only known pain and heartache growing up. She moved from one bad situation to another with only a small glimmer of hope to hold onto. With a higher purpose in mind, she has honed her skills to a lethal edge. Nothing has distracted her from her ultimate goal. Only when she gets thrown off course does she even contemplate more for her life. Goaya has no idea what to do with Maya when he first meets her, but he knows he doesn't want to lose her. Thrown together by Fate, will these two learn to open their hearts to more, or will they refuse to become vulnerable no matter the beauty and blessings it brings along the way?

Our world doesn't have to suffer if we could just choose to love each other instead of viewing our friends and neighbors as objects. Once we view people as objects we can somehow justify using them to our own ends. That way of thinking will only end in utter disaster and complete devastation. Maya and Goaya showed us exactly how love can change a damaged person into a work of unspeakable beauty. It is our heart that determines who we are and not what others do to us.

Christine Feehan has blown my mind and obliterated my heart with this latest masterpiece! She knows how to get to the very essence of a person and show them for who they really are. What an extraordinary wonder and blessing she is to me. I savor her words like water to a dying man because they never fail to encourage and enlighten.

This cover is stunning.

I stopped after chapter 1 (8%). The writing style is heavily expositional and heavily narrative, and I wasn’t personally getting into it. I’d guess those who were fans of the prior works will enjoy this. It’s probably very consistent, based on how deep the backlist is.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC.

Leopard's Hunt was another great book that was added to Christine Feehan's leopard series. I have read and enjoyed all the books in this series. I love that I can say that and continue to say that. Christine Feehan is one of my favorite authors. Her books are written well and have a great world and storyline. Goya and Maya have a different over all relationship development then other books. I really enjoyed the fact that they concentrated on hunting the trail of criminals and that their relationship developed through that. I hope that there is a book about a family member of Maya's that we met at the end of the book. I can't wait to read more of this series.

This is an ok edition to the series. I felt like the relationship was more rushed and it didn’t develop in a way the others have. Goya and Maya seemed more concerned with following the trail of criminals. This is one where you really need to have at least read the last book in the series or you would be lost.
