This was a fun YA heist but lacked in execution. I had to go back and reread the big reveal because I found it abrupt the first time. But, I enjoyed it overall and will add a copy to my high school library collection!

Ok this took me SO long to get through. Was it a fun plot? Yes. Were there twists and issues thrown in throughout the whole book? Also yes. Did I fully guess the last big twist of the story? Also also yes.
I feel like there is minimal need for a sequel, but I'm still mildly interested in picking it up? I don't know, it'll be a library pick up for sure, I don't think I'd purchase either.
Overall, I had a good time with this but it wasn't quite gripping enough to really get me wanting to pick this book up.

Heiress Takes All has all the makings of a rollicking good time. And while it does have its moments, overall I did find it a little predictable, a little dull, and a little lacking in internal consistency. I'm usually very willing to suspend disbelief for a good heist, but Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka ask a bit too much of the reader in this one. The romance is fine, but too much of the emotional beats have already happened before the story begins.
This isn't a book to avoid, but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to anyone.
Thank you to the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book surprised me. I wasn’t completely sure about it but it ended up being a fun read. Fast-paced, definitely a quick read. I liked the characters and enjoyed the little unexpected twists.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you so much to Netgalley for giving me the wonderful chance to read this book!
So much fun! This was incredibly enjoyable and thrilling in a new way. It had a great amount of thrill and humour in it. So unique though!

Not the biggest fan of the young adult genre but this book was enjoyable and I liked it so much. It’s adventurous and the mystery in it was so well done and the thriller aspects? I was hooked. The beginning of the book with the FMC racing down the mansion was the best way to start a book. I certainly didn’t bore myself with this one!

Absolutely obsessed with this book. It totally made me fall in love with the YA genre. I’m typically not the biggest YA reader but I love these authors so it was an auto read for me! The story and the pacing was perfect and the romance was so good. Olivia and Jackson were perfect!

If it’s Ocean’s 11, then your favorite romance-writing duo have paired up to write your next read! From the author’s who brought you The Roughest Draft and The Breakup Tour comes a young adult thriller set entirely during one exciting wedding full of drama and intrigue.
What Worked: Right from the start, this novel gets your heart pumping and the adrenaline flowing. The cast of misfit, down-on-their-luck characters are out to steal millions, but they’ll end up stealing your heart as well. When all is said and done, this book was a great reading experience with the potential for sequels to keep the fun coming. The constant twists and hurdles will leave you wanting more.
What Didn’t: There are some side quests and flashbacks that slow things down a bit, but the novel can’t be all rise (like a Barney Stinson playlist), so I get these choices.
Rating: Really Liked It

On paper, Heiress Takes All is my kind of read—The Inheritance Games meets Ocean's 11? Yes, please. A heist with code names, a glam setting, unlikely allies coming together….the book sounds fun and totally my thing.
Unfortunately, the execution didn't work for me. The writing style wasn't a match for me—I can’t quite say why—but it didn't flow. I also felt like I was missing a lot of backstory that was needed to care about the characters and the heist, especially around Olivia and her dad.
While this book wasn't a winner for me, many others loved it! And the cover is fantastic!
Thank you to HBG Canada and NetGalley for the gifted copy.

Give me a heist story any day! This was fun and exciting and I loved the characters! Sassy, charming, intriguing! What a wild ride!

I received an arc of this book last year and feel bad it’s taken me this long to read it. That said, it was unique and it happened to be what I needed right now. I’ve been having a rough week and wasn’t sure what could distract me. Thankfully this book helped.
This book is kind of like Oceans 11 with teenagers (mostly) trying to run the heist.
Olivia has every reason to be upset with his dad. He was unkind when she did live with him, then he cheated on her mom, and Olivia and her mother were cut out of his super wealthy lifestyle and house. When Olivia’s mother has a car accident, they’re left with loads of medical debt too.
When Olivia gets invited to her dad’s wedding she starts planning her heist. She builds an interesting crew around her of people with different intentions for their winnings: there’s Deonte who dreams of opening a bakery, Cass the hacker, Thom the fake date, and even Olivia’s old teacher as a body guard. Some want revenge, some just want money. Olivia wants both.
As interesting characters pop up to make her plan more difficult (her ex-boyfriend! Her lonely younger cousin!) some turn out to be trustworthy while others have ulterior motives.
Lots of twists and turns, I predicted the biggest twist but I’m ok with that. I’d say this book probably had a twist or two more than it needed to be entertaining.
I’ll check out book two. I liked these characters, I like the authors and the storyline, and I’m intrigued to see what’s next.
Thanks NetGalley!

Seventeen-year-old Olivia Owens isn’t thrilled about her dad’s third wedding, especially since it follows a trail of betrayal. After cheating on Olivia’s mom, kicking them out of their Rhode Island home, and cutting her off from her inheritance, her dad has earned her revenge. While hundreds of guests gather at the estate where she once lived, Olivia plans the ultimate heist. She’ll play the part of the perfect daughter, but she’s really after the handwritten passcode in her dad’s safe, the key to millions in his online accounts. With a quirky crew of high school misfits and one former teacher, Olivia has meticulously planned every detail. But as meddling guests, scheming relatives, and a vengeful new stepmother threaten to unravel it all, Olivia must stay focused—because when she’s done, “something borrowed” will take on a whole new meaning.
I read this in one sitting, late into the night. The authors' took a different route, writing not just romance but a teenage heist. Think Thieve's Gambit, Ocean' 8/11/12 and The Inheritance Games, with a dash of Truly Devious series. Just when I thought I had it all figured out...BAM...took a turn I didn't see coming. I cannot wait to see what the next adventure is for the Chess Club.

I've been a fan of this writing duo, enjoying many of their previous books. So when I saw Heiress Takes All, I knew I wanted to read it.
Unfortunately, this book wasn't the greatest. I know it's young adult, and I do enjoy YA books, but the main character felt too childish. I had a hard time really caring about the story. It felt like the authors kept throwing in complications just for the sake of complicating the plot. Obviously if the heist went smoothly, it wouldn't be as interesting. But the complications didn't feel organic. It all felt forced. I admit I didn't guess the twist at the end, but again I felt like it was forced. There wasn't any foreshadowing. It was like the authors were like "hey, wouldn't it be cool if we did this?"
The book wasn't bad, it just wasn't for me. I can see how other readers may really enjoy this book. I just didn't... I had to force myself to keep going.

Honestly, I loved this! There were so many delightful twists and turns to this ultimate heists at the wedding of the century. It exposes the tragic innerworkings of a narcissistic father's relationship with his daughter in a very cathartic way for someone who has been through such abuse. It is witty and charming at times, yet also gets that mysterious edge to the writing. I loved every minute of this from start to finish and can't wait for the next!

A heist gone wrong and all conducted by the heiress daughter and her crew of wayward teens. I had difficulty in staying with this read, it was a slow burn, for real, but it was still quite enjoyable. I really likes the ending and woul dread more from these authors.

Unfortunately I think this one was just a combination of things I enjoy separately, but not together - comedy, romance, thriller. Doesn't stand out for me among the pack.

Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown Books for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Heiress Takes All by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka is the perfect combination of Ocean’s 11 and The Inheritance Games as a teenager pulls off a heist to sabotage and reclaim her family’s money - her money! The book had a really good balance of being fast paced while also enjoyable and silly at times. The relationship between Olivia and Jackson is very cute, but I’m glad it didn’t seem to be a forefront to the storyline and more of a character building piece. This is a fantastic YA book for anyone interested in the thriller/romance genre.

This book was a little different than what I expected. It was good, suspenseful, but it wasn’t entirely what I expected! I love their books, so it was a shock, but I would still recommend!!!

A solid fun YA mystery heist reminiscent of Inheritance games! Not extremely complex but an overall fun and great read.
