Seaside sisters is a great summer read with all of the parts that make it great. The beach, a handsome guy, a wonderful girl and the way their relationship changes over time is just awesome. Great characters to root for and I love the way the include each other in their lives. I can see more books coming from these characters. Thank you to the publisher and #NetGalley for the ARC.

Fun, beachy read! This book begins with Hannah, an author, struggling to write. She returns to her hometown of Chatham in Cape Cod to stay with her aunt in the hopes that she will be able to get past her writer's block. She has had difficulty with writing since her mother passed away and recently ended a relationship she was in. She is planning to spend the summer in Chatham with her aunt, Maddie and her sister, Sara. Maddie and her husband are spending some time apart. Sara is frustrated with her husband. All three of the women spend the summer working on themselves. What Hannah didn't plan for was meeting Spencer, the grandson of the couple that live next to her Aunt Maddie. Great book if you like summer romance stories.

Hannah is in a writing slump and suffering from panic attacks after the loss of her beloved mother. Her sister Sara suggests she return to her hometown staying with their Aunt Maddie for the summer. The story goes on to deal with personal issues of all three women. Not a bad beach read -it was just too predictable and lacked passion for me. I would have enjoyed it more if it focused on the sisters working through their grief. However, it is worth picking up for the setting of the lovely Cape Cod town of Chatham. My mouth practically watered at the description of the seafood. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

After the death of her mother, Hannah returns home to Cape Cod and moves in with her aunt for the summer. She is working on her second novel and hopes the change of scenery will kick start her writing. Her older sister, Sarah lives nearby with her husband and four small children. A great take your mind off life book filled with sun, sand, romance and family.

I read this ARC on NetGalley
It was everything I was hoping for and more. People needing closure, trying to find oneself, the growth or lack there of in relationships, finding home.
At the end of the day, this was 3 love stories in 1 and it was so, so good!

A generally breezy read with warm, smart characters and lots of heart
A great summer read of sisters and their life problems on Cape Cod

Embarking on a literary journey with Pamela Kelley was like stumbling upon a hidden treasure chest with "The Seaside Sisters."
This book was like a cozy blanket on a stormy day, a refreshing break from the heart-pounding adventures I usually dive into. The bond between sisters Hannah and Sara, along with their aunt, was like a symphony of words. Their love and struggles felt so real, tugging at my heartstrings.
Hannah's bold move to her hometown of Cape Cod had me green with envy - who wouldn't want a slice of that remote work paradise? Watching her romance with Spencer blossom, alongside the quirky shore dwellers, was pure joy.
With its sandy setting, "The Seaside Sisters" is the ultimate beach companion. Kelley weaves tales of relationships with finesse, crafting a story that unfolds like a seashell on the shore.

This is a perfect beach read. It was a little predictable but the setting was perfect. I felt like I was in Chatham and Cape Cod.

I found this book quite dry and boring. There is a lack of plot and no excitement or interest. It was hard to become invested in the characters when their problems resolved themselves almost immediately and without any drama or excitement. On a more minor note, the names of the characters were also incredible boring and not unique. I didn’t love the name dropping of brands (wine, etc) - it felt insincere and like the author was trying too hard to make the characters relatable.

This is the perfect beach read. Hannah has writers block and decides to go home to Cape Cod for the summer to be with her sister, Sarah and her aunt. It turns out to be a summer that everything comes together. I loved the characters and the easy banter amongst them. The plot had the perfect combination of friendship, love, struggles, and starting over. This is a light, easy, enjoyable read. Highly recommend.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I was pleasantly surprised to find repeat characters and setting from the author’s previous novel Bookshop by the Bay! I am glad I got to read this novel thru NetGalley and really enjoyed the story, Its a good story with great personal growth by the main character and her sister and aunt.
It is a fun read and I look forward to more from Pamela Kelley.l

Hannah wrote a best seller, but can she follow that up with a second book? As she struggles to work on her second novel and embracing the changes in her personal life she takes the opportunity to move to the Cape and spend the summer with her aunt and sister. A comfortable read that deals with relationships and personal growth, this would make a good beach read or just a good read to escape from your own life ( and really isn't that why a lot of us read ). So enjoyable.
Thanks ro #NetGalley#TheSeasideSisters#StMartinsPress for the EARC

I generally enjoy Pamela M. Kelley's books a lot. She has great characters and wonderful settings. Her books always transport me to somewhere fun and give me happy endings that make me smile. Unfortunately, this particular story was missing a lot to make it on par with her previous stories.
The cover is beautiful and absolutely drew me in. But the story was just fine. It was okay. I gave it three stars which might be kind of generous. It's not that I hated the story, but it was truly subpar and lacking a lot. I felt like there was a lot that could have been fleshed out more and could have gone deeper. And the title of the story is not quite accurate either - as its about two sisters and an aunt.
If you're looking for a great beach read, I would recommend you pick up something else by Pamela M. Kelley before reaching for this particular story as I think she has others that are far superior!

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance ecopy of this book. I have previously enjoyed Kelley's Nantucket book series, but this book does not live up to it. The characters were a bit tepid, and Kelley's writing in this novel seems to imitate Hildebrand's. One thing that is a pet peeve of mine (that Hildebrand does ad nauseum) is to name drop places and brands. Kelley does that in this book, and it is a distraction from the plot. There were also two minor scenes that did not flow. At one point, Hannah and Spencer are discussing the differences between NYC and Cape
Cod. Spencer opines all the reasons why the Cape is better. The exact same discussion occurs between the two characters in a different setting 2 pages later. The other bugaboo is when Hannah's sister, Sara, is so excited to turn on her iPad to read a new ARC, but then muses how excited she is that her boss at the book store gave her an ARC BOOK! Please, Ms. Kelley, return to the Nantucket characters and their lives, and leave this boring bunch alone in Chatham.

This is a perfect book to take on your beach vacation. Hannah and Sara rediscover their sisterly bond while reinventing their fractured lives. Each sister must come to terms with what is wrong in their life before they can change. Of course, there must be a will they or won’t they romance! Very enjoyable.

Pamela Kelley's "The Seaside Sisters" tells the heartwarming tale of Hannah, a young Brooklyn author facing writer's block amidst personal turmoil, including the loss of her mother and a breakup. Following her acclaimed debut romance novel, she returns to her Cape Cod hometown of Chatham, seeking inspiration from the tranquil seaside and her Aunt Maddie's wisdom.
In Chatham, Aunt Maddie connects Hannah with local writer Joy and her husband Ben, introducing her to a weekly writers' group that reignites Hannah's passion for writing. An unexpected reunion with Spencer, Joy’s grandson and a former classmate turned attorney, offers Hannah a unique opportunity to research her next book.
Amidst her writing, Hannah reconnects with her sister Sara, exploring the dynamics of family, support, and personal growth. Sara's journey from a stay-at-home mom to a part-time bookstore employee showcases the challenges and rewards of seeking fulfillment outside of domestic life.
Hannah's summer is enriched by new friendships and the complexities of love, culminating in a poignant moment with Spencer that leaves her future uncertain. As she wraps up her novel and contemplates her return to Brooklyn, "The Seaside Sisters" weaves a narrative of love, creativity, and the bonds that define us, leaving readers pondering Hannah's ultimate choice.

What could be better than escaping to Cape Cod in the summer? The Seaside Sisters transports you to Chatham, MA with its charming shops, interesting personalities and beautiful scenery.
Longtime Brooklynite, Hannah returns to her hometown after the death of her mother in hopes of overcoming her writer’s block and reconnecting with her sister, Sara, an unfulfilled stay-at-home mom and Aunt Maddy, a literary agent. Each of the three are navigating life challenges and looking to the others for comfort.
Fun & easy read with characters that are relatable, a great read for your summer beach trip.

Perfect light beachy read, especially if you summer anywhere on Cape Cod. Hannah is a writer based in Brooklyn who is struggling to complete her second manuscript, fearful that it won't measure up to the wild success of her debut romance novel. Believing that a change of scenery might help, Hannah heads back to her hometown of Chatham on Cape Cod to spend the summer with her aunt. After the death of her mother, Hannah has not wanted to revisit the Cape, but at the urging of her aunt, she agrees.
Finding that the ocean, the neighbors and the quietness of the off-season are helping Hannah with her panic attacks and her writer's block, she decides to spend the summer there. Meeting the neighbor's son, Spencer reminds Hannah of high school when she worshiped senior class Spencer from the lowly position of a mere junior. Spencer is now an attorney and Hannah ends up spending more time with him than she'd planned as both her aunt and her neighbors seem to be arranging for them to meet at various village functions. But Spencer has relationship baggage and even as Hannah admits that he's a nice guy, she knows that her home now is in Brooklyn while his is on the Cape.
Neither one is expecting this relationship to move beyond Labor Day.
Following the formula that her fictional author does to write her romance novels, author Kelley pulls together a pleasurable beach read with a predictable ending that still turns out satisfying for the reader.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a free digital copy of The Seaside Sisters in exchange for an honest review.
The Seaside Sisters follows Hannah, Sara, and their aunt Maddie. Hannah is a writer with writer's block, Sara and Maddie are having difficulties with their marriages. Sara wants to go to work after staying at home with the children and not getting much support from her husband, while Maddie and her husband are separated.
I love books involving sister relationships and this book was very cute, sweet, and light-hearted. Although, the plot was predictable. The story was well written and a nice read after finishing a very heavy book. This book would be a great vacation read.

Loved the fact that sisters were able to reconnect in a wonderful way. Not only was the story line great but the emotions and way that they could build each other up and have the chance to grow their relationship was wonderful. Love reading Pamela Kelley
