Many thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC of this upcoming summer blockbuster. I requested a copy of this book for a mini escape to Cape Cod while sitting at home in an Utah winter. Being from Massachusetts myself and loving all things south of Plymouth, I jumped in with both feet.
I was hooked from the beginning and immediately invested in Hannah, Sara and Maddie. Their daily experiences spirited me away. The colorful descriptions of the Cape and local businesses made me feel like I was a local right along beside them. I also enjoyed the local terminology like cookout instead of bbq, etc. it made me feel like I was at home.
The story is mostly told by Hannah, Sara and Maddie. Each of them having something in their careers that tie them to books, reading, publishing or writing. It was refreshing to learn a bit about publishing houses, authors and agents.
The end is predictable or anticipated in a good way. The reader is rooting for it, it would have been disappointing to go any other way. After all It is a feel good story. I read it in three sittings and hated to see it come to an end.

This author has such a gift with how she describes settings and food also lovely characters who are smart and lead interesting lives. Love all the book additions such as all the writers, publishing and the sweet bookstore where Hannah’s sister works. Great friendships. There are no big car chases, no gory murders. Just s really nice story that makes you feel good about the world.

The Seaside Sisters are Hannah and Sara. Hannah lives in NY but grew up on Cape Cod. Sara still lives on the Cape. Their mother died a few months before Hannah decided to go back to the Cape for the summer. Hannah stayed at her aunt’s house and made some new friends. One of the friends she reacquainted herself with was Spencer.
Hannah was writing her 2nd book and Spencer helped her get rid of the writer’s block she is facing.
Before the summer finishes, Hannah and Sara, Hannah and her aunt and Hannah and Spencer all have a relationship that Hannah doesn’t want to lose. Does she go back to NY? Guess you need to read the story to know what happens.
If you have read any of Pamela Kelley’s books before, you know this book is going to be a sweet romance story and a great beach read.
Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Pamela Kelley’s team for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I was able to read a digital ARC through Netgalley of this book. Unfortunately, this book was a miss for me. I've loved some of the author's other books like The Restaurant, but this book was only ok for me. There were points where the writing felt a little stiff and I found myself focusing on that and unable to get into the storyline. The book did have some good points and the romance was good as well.

This a a perfect book to read for relaxing and enjoyiable time! It’s an easy read, the story isn’t too dramatic, but it makes you think about things in life that really matter. Friendships and family are key to happiness! Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and honestly review this advance copy

3.25 ⭐️ I enjoyed this story about two sisters, Sara and Hannah, navigating life after losing their mother. Both sisters were easy to relate to with the varying challenges they each had in the book. In addition, I found it interesting to read about Hannah’s writing process, and how her writing was inspired in different ways throughout the novel. The setting was lovely in Chatham and described in a way that made me want to spend a summer there.
It took several chapters for me to get drawn into the book, but once I was drawn in, I didn’t want to put the book down.
The plot was predictable, and the conflicts weren’t intense, but sometimes that is exactly what I need to read after reading an intense book.
This book would be a great summer or beach read with light hearted plot and sweet romance.

This is a cute story with charming characters. The story is relatable to many people’s lives. There is great family relationships, and great friendships, a little romance. Many problems amongst the characters. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more about the Seaside Sisters. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another great read by Pamela Kelley that takes you to the shore in Chatham, Massachusetts. It's all about family, grieving for those you've lost and remembering that which is important. I love that this book is centered around family who support each other, good friends and neighbors who look out for each other, books, and remembering what is important. It's a great read to help you relax and just enjoy a good story when you've got a lot going on in the real world. In this idyllic town, you would love to meet Hannah, Sara, and their aunt. While there is a love interest, that doesn't seem to be the primary storyline here, although it does add a bit of sweetness. Good summer read, it will make you happy. Many thanks to #netgalley #pamelakelley #theseasidesisters #stmartinspress for the opportunity to read and review this book. 3.5 rounded to 4.

Pamela Kelley’s The Seaside Sisters is a sweet love story about a young writer from Brooklyn who suffers from writer’s block after losing her mother and breaking up with her boyfriend. Hannah has written a successful debut romance novel and is now attempting her second book. She is currently experiencing writer's block aka distractions she decides to go home to visit for a while but can't imagine staying at her mother's house so she stays with her aunt. Aunt Maddie introduces Hannah to her neighbors Joy, also a writer, and her husband Ben and Joy invites Hannah to a weekly writer’s group which Hannah enjoys. Joy invites Hannah to dinner after the first session and they are joined by Joy’s grandson Spencer. Hannah and her sisters relationship develops more than it has in years. Aunt Maddie is quite a force. Aunt Maddie and Hannah encourage Sara to take a week’s vacation from her house and let her husband Tom deal with her four boys and their school and activities and cooking and laundry. So Sara stays at Aunt Maddie’s house. The experiment goes well and Tom appreciates Sara more and their marriage and family life improves. As Hannah's summer evolves so does feeling and other relationships. This is a fun Beach Read albeit a bit slow in places. Thank you Netgalley, the author and St. Martin's Press.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Hannah is a writer and is having a hard time writing her new book. She decides to stay with her aunt fir the summer near cape cod. When she arrives it feels like she never left. She spends time doing things she enjoys and catching up with her family and friends. A nice vacation read.

Loved this book. As always Pamela had me hooked from the beginning. Looking forward to reading her next book

Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin's Press for the ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own. I liked the writing style of this book and thought it had potential at first but it felt very slow and almost like nothing ever happened.
Hannah, a romance author, moves home to the Cape for the summer to work on her second book. Her sister, Sara lives there with her husband and 4 boys and her aunt Maddie also lives there. Sara and Hannah's mom has recently passed. Maddie is dealing with struggles in her long term marriage and Sara feels underappreciated as a mom and wife. At the end it felt like Hannah was just all of the sudden in love with the neighbor, Spencer, despite almost no development in their relationship. This one just was not for me, unfortunately.

I’ve read more than a dozen books by Pamela Kelley, and was looking forward to The Seaside Sisters. What I like about Ms. Kelley’s books is that they transport me to the East Coast, including Nantucket and, in this case, Chatham (she often mentions actual businesses in her stories, which makes it even more enjoyable). I enjoy becoming immersed in an area I’ve never been to, but now I’m determined to visit! Ms. Kelley is also a “foodie,” and she infuses her books with wonderful descriptions of meals, dishes, and wine. This delicious book also has romance, second chances, and lovely, meaningful friendships.
The “Seaside Sisters” are Hannah, a romance writer who lives in Brooklyn but comes home to Chatham for the summer to deal with writer’s block, and her sister Sara, who lives in Chatham with her husband and four sons. I would add a third “sister,” their delightful Aunt Maddie (their late mother’s sister), who is a literary agent and opens her home to Hannah. All three women are still grieving the death of Hannah and Sara’s mother, who passed six months prior. There are three story lines among the three “sisters.” The situations, and more importantly for me, the dialogue is realistic, and all the characters are multi-dimensional. It was also a surprise to see cameos by characters from her other recent book (and one I also recommend), The Bookshop by the Bay.
I gave this book four stars because I would have liked to see another relationship (someone Hannah dates for a bit) play out in more detail, and instead it felt rushed and incomplete. While other reviewers called the plot “predictable,” I prefer to think of it as “anticipatory,” which is exactly what I look for, besides the HEA in a Pamela Kelley book! Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this novel to review. #TheSeasideSisters #PamelaKelley #StMartinsPress

withholding review as this book is published by the company St. Martins Press. I am participating in the boycott. thanks, but sorry

I received a free e-arc of this book through Netgalley.
I was interested in this book since it had sisters in the title and it was at the beach which sounds really apprealing in the middle of a midwest winter. Romance is not one of my top genres so I'm probably not the ideal audience for this book. It shows several different couples' relationship issues, but they mostly wrap up neatly and as expected.

I really wanted to love this book. This was my first time in a long time reading a book like this and it was the opposite of what I have typically read the last year. I was a tad underwhelmed. But I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt because I don't know this genre fairly well. I would still recommend it to people who I know have reading tastes that fit this book.

This was a new author for me. Sweet romance to pass away a cold winter day. The characters keep my interest and it was a feel good story.

I have read most of Pamela Kelley's books and have really enjoyed them. Her latest, The Seaside Sisters, is no exception and is sure to delight her readers! Set in Cape Cod and featuring some of the places and a couple appearances from her past book, The Bookshop by the Bay, it follows the story of two sisters Hannah and Sara as they experience their first summer without their mom. Hannah, who moves from Brooklyn from the summer, dominates more of the book and provides a great storyline of a budding author trying to deliver her second book.
I absolutely love the way that Kelley describes the setting and the food! It makes you yearn to be in the scenes with her characters. I just wish that there was more to Hannah's story because the epilogue was not enough! Thanks for NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Seaside Sisters is a charming beach read. It's set on Cape Cod with a writer struggling with writer block and her sister coming to grips with the death of their mother. It was a fast read for me and a cute rom com.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for my review copy of this book.

I love books set in a beach town and this one is at the top of my favorites list! It has everything I love in a beach read…family drama, secrets, and hope. And of course a little LOVE. I love this book and can’t wait to share it with friends!
