Thank you NetGalley for the ARC copy. Reviews are my own.
I really enjoyed this book that explores sisters, family, friends, work and grief all set on beautiful Chatham , Massachusetts . The author does a great job of describing the area and making you feel you are there.
The book revolves around 2 sisters and their aunt. The main character, Hannah, is an author struggling to write her 2nd book after the death of her mother . She returns to her childhood home of Chatham for the summer, hoping to end her writer's block and spend quality time with her sister, Sara, and aunt Maddie. During her stay she makes new friends and rediscovers the beauty of her hometown and the joys of writing.
The characters are so likable and the author does a great job of putting the reader in every scene . I felt the writing could have been a little tighter and for this reason did not give it 4 stars. The story is endearing and heartfelt and one you will return to, perhaps spending your future summers in Chatham with Hannah and her friends.

The seaside sisters By Pamela Kelly Is a down to earth realistic novel featuring the comradery between family members and their love and hate for each other and their relationships. Everyday problems are addressed and solved with romances kindled and killed. Sweet read.

After Hannah loses her mother to cancer, she begins having panic attacks. After that, she decides to spend her summer in her beachy childhood hometown with her aunt and sister, to finish her next book.
Pamela Kelley never fails to deliver sweet stories about family and love. I want to visit her version of Chatham and get to know the people that she writes about. This is a lovely story about life's next chapters, love, family, and summer time. Enjoy those quintessential cape things like whale watching, cookouts, seafood, and beautiful summer days while peeking into the lives of two sisters and their aunt.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for this ARC.

I am reviewing The Seaside Sisters by Pamela Kelley.
The Publication date is June 4, 2024.
The Seaside Sisters is a delightful peek into the Summer lives of two nicely structured characters: Hannah, a successful author, who is struggling to produce her next best-seller and Sara, Hannah’s older sister, who desperately wants to re-enter the job market after raising four rambunctious boys. Both sisters are dealing with personal loss, relationship bumps and lumps, and staying authentic to oneself. It is their endearing connection to each other and the support system around them that keep them grounded and thriving.
The story is set in Chatham, Cape Cod and features fabulous must-see locations, to die-for restaurants, and yummy recipe suggestions. The story is filled with people who are the day-to-day connections of the story. These are people everyone wishes were their neighbors and friends. The whole comfy package of this story will entice you to pre-order your copy of The Seaside Sisters for your ‘beach blanket escape’ this Summer.
I love the generational side-by-side comparison of Hannah’s new relationship(s) against Sara’s, Maddie’s, and Joy’s marriages. Each woman has their own relationship struggles to overcome, and each is willing to learn from the others.
My favorite Pamela Kelley 50-something year old couple to date is Aunt Maddie and Richie. Their honesty and willingness to work on their relationship throughout the story is inspiring. I’ve said it before, it is so lovely that Pamela builds in love for all ages into her stories. Love is not just for the young. Pamela gives hope to us single girls in our mid-50s.
Pamela has a true gift to inter-weave previously loved characters into her new stories. She creates a community of people to love with each new novel. I love the guest appearances from the characters (Allison, Julia, Jess, and Caitlin) in The Bookshop by the Bay. Loved their important integration into both sisters’ lives. What a wonderful way to check in on old friends.
I recommend this book for an engaging “beach” read. You'll want to spend more time with these sisters and their community by the end.
PS-I love all of Pamela’s covers! On a chilly Winter Day, this cover brings to mind dreams of Summer days just chilling on the beach with family and friends.
NetGalley and the publisher have provided me with an advanced copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Pamela Kelley never fails to deliver a good story. This one revolves around the lives of sisters Hannah and Sara, with a side story for their aunt. There is marriage conflict, family drama, self-doubt and discovery, and some romance. All this in the quaint sea-side town of Chatham. It is a great book to start off your summer reading or when you need a lighter but well written story.

I enjoyed this book. I like reading books about life in Nantucket/similar places on the East coast. I also liked how the relationships of all of the family members were in the book. (Both sisters, their significant others, their aunt & her husband)

The perfect summer read. This book was light and exactly what I was looking for…. Summer on the Cape. I loved the Chatham vibes and the bond between the family that had lost someone to cancer.
Definitely a feel good book full of relationships new and old, healing and thriving. I see this as a popular beach read this summer! Thanks Net Galley!

This book centers on sisters Hannah and Sara in the Cape Cod area. Hannah is staying in the area for the summer as she is writing her second book and trying to overcome some writer's block. Sara is a busy mother of 4 boys, searching for a little sense of self amid that craziness. This is a nice summer read of friends, books, and moving forward in life.

Another fabulous Pamela Kelley book. I wanted to read it in a day, but spaced it out so I could enjoy it longer. Her characters are always wonderfully developed and her storylines keep you intrigued. Now I want to move to Chatham with Hannah and Sara. 😂 The story deals with loss of their mother, marriage issues, relationships and life changes. Don’t miss this!

The Seaside Sisters is a heartwarming story of Hannah, Sara, and Aunt Maddie who are grieving the loss of their mom/sister as well as dealing with other issues in their personal lives. Hannah, who lives in NY, is suffering from writer's block on her second rom-com novel and decides to go back home to spend the summer with her aunt and sister. While back in town, her summer turned out to be so much more than she thought it would be - new friends, new writing routines, and more time with family.
There are multiple storylines in this book and they all come together very nicely. I enjoyed watching the characters grow and the description of Cape Cod. I have never been there - but I could envision the beautiful area. This story has it all - including love, friendship, and second chances. You even get a glimpse of what the characters are up to from her novel The Bookshop By the Bay.
Thank you to Pamela, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of The Seaside Sisters, I enjoyed this book.

This was a fun quick read. Pamela Kelley's books are dependable and predictable. But don't take that to mean they aren't any good! It's about the journey and Kelley's latest doesn't disappoint. I thought the characters in the story were likable and the plot lines were interesting. The only criticism I have is that sometimes the language seems a bit formal and stilted. People (such as the characters in the book) don't tend to talk the way Kelley wrote some of the conversations so that tended to draw me out of the story at times. Otherwise it was an enjoyable read.

Hannah Brewster is an author living in New York City. She grew up in Chatham on Cape Cod. Hannah’s sister, Sara, is happily married and living in Chatham. Their mother died recently. Hannah has a panic attack which is attributed to stress from working on her second book and the recent death of her mother. She decides to take go to Cape Cod for the summer to work and reconnect with her sister and aunt. Hannah works on her novel in the local coffee shop. She also connects with both old and new friends, most notably a guy she despised in high school. Hannah finds that people do change as they grow into adults. Sara, on the other hand, finds that her marriage isn’t as perfect as it seems. Tom is a workaholic and doesn’t seem to realize all that Sara does for Tom and their boys. Now that the boys are in school, Sara accepts a parttime job at the local bookstore. But Tom needs reminding that he is capable of caring for the boys and that Sara is much more than a housekeeper. Being a beach read, all ends well. The Seaside Sisters is the perfect beach read for this season.

Pamela Kelley’s The Seaside Sisters is a sweet love story about a young writer from Brooklyn who suffers from writer’s block after losing her mother and breaking up with her boyfriend. Hannah has written a successful debut romance novel and is now attempting her second book.
So Hannah goes back to her hometown of Chatham on Cape Cod to stay with her Aunt Maddie hoping the beautiful beach and ocean scenery will get her creative juices flowing again.
Aunt Maddie introduces Hannah to her neighbors Joy, also a writer, and her husband Ben and Joy invites Hannah to a weekly writer’s group which Hannah enjoys. Joy invites Hannah to dinner after the first session and they are joined by Joy’s grandson Spencer.
Spencer who was a year ahead of Hannah in high school is an attorney and since Hannah’s second novel is about an attorney, he agrees to let her shadow him at work so what she writes will be realistic.
While in Chatham, Hannah forms a closer relationship with her older sister Sara, a mother of four boys and former librarian, who tired of being at home all the time, starts working part time at a book store.
Hannah decides to do some of her writing at the coffee shop attached to the bookstore so she and Sara see each other every day when Sara eats lunch.
Sara’s husband is not initially supportive of her job because it causes him to have to do more around the house and he doesn’t really realize how much his wife does.
Aunt Maddie and Hannah encourage Sara to take a week’s vacation from her house and let her husband Tom deal with her four boys and their school and activities and cooking and laundry. So Sara stays at Aunt Maddie’s house. The experiment goes well and Tom appreciates Sara more and their marriage and family life improves.
Hannah does a successful book signing at the book shop and meets another more famous author Niall Peterson. She goes on a few dates with him but then he starts dating a supermodel.
She becomes friends with Spencer, his law partner Natalie and her boyfriend Adam, and the coffee shop owner Caitlin and greatly enjoys socializing with them all often over the summer.
Writing picks up for Hannah and before the summer is over she finishes her book. She’s thrilled and almost ready to go back to Brooklyn although she’ll miss Chatham and vows to visit more often and keep in better touch with Sara.
Before she leaves, Spencer kisses her deeply and tells her he couldn’t let her go without knowing how he really feels.
She considers staying in Chatham but continues her plan to return to Brooklyn.
Will she come back to stay?
Read this enchanting novel to find out.

This is the first book by Pamela M. Kelley that I DNF. I found the characters to be a little flat. I will continue to read this author since I'm a big fan of this author.
****************I received an ARC for my honest opinion from NetGalley.*********************

The Seaside Sisters is a light and easy beach read perfect for summer. Two sisters Hannah and Sara and their Aunt Maddie navigate life’s struggles after the death of Hannah and Sara’s mother.
Hannah is an author struggling with writer’s block on her second book. After a breakup and the death of her mother she returns to her hometown of Chatham, Cape Cod where her sister and Aunt Maddie live. Hannah moves in with her Aunt Maddie hoping for some inspiration for her book. Sara is feeling under appreciated as a wife and mother of four boys. Aunt Maddie also has struggles of her own.
All the women have a great relationship and support each other in their work and relationships. The characters are relatable and the seaside town is lovely. A perfect beach read about love, family, and sister relationships.
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martins Press for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.

A great summer read about a family dealing with grief. Hannah’s sister has a great marriage from the outside that is strangling her will to live. Hannah’s neighbors are dealing with the reality of getting older and the challenges of age while Hannah’s aunt and uncle are at a crossroads in their marriage with difficult decisions to make. Great lessons learned in communication and compassion. We’ll write. And highly recommended.

Such a heartwarming book. I read it in one sitting. I just couldn’t put the book down. I loved the sisters and the aunt. The book flowed so smoothly. The writing is outstanding. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

This was a lovely story that focused on two sisters and their aunt. The small cape cod town was charming, and I enjoyed the vivid descriptions - however, sometimes there were so many adjectives about meals and such that it did get a little distracting.
This would be a fun read for the beach or on vacation. Overall a nice book.

This is the story of Hannah, a writer, and her family and friends navigating life’s challenges in the Cape Cod village of Chatham, Massachusetts, her hometown. Hannah’s Mother has recently passed. She broke up with her boyfriend and she has writer’s block. Hannah decides to spend the Summer at her aunt’s home in Chatham. During the Summer, Hannah rediscovers life’s pleasures of family, friends, romance along with her writing passion. I characterize this book as a cozy romance – perfect for the beach or after a challenging workday. I enjoyed this book and recommend to all who enjoy a cozy romance.
