I have never before read a book by Pamela Kelley but I know now that I will find myself reaching for her books as they will be a great summer time read! Her writing style is beautiful; the setting/location you can do no wrong!
I love the characters, the sisters were quite the pair, and as I already said the books location was perfect. Overall the book was enjoyable and quick read.
Thank you so much to NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my honest review.

What a perfect summer read! I really enjoyed this book and all the beachy, summer vibes. The setting (Chatham, MA) was just dreamy. I also loved Hannah, Sara, and Aunt Maddie. Reading the book made me want to spend my summers there with them, drinking coffee and working at the bookstore. I definitely wanted more romance between Hannah and Spencer--but also loved the focus on sisters and family. A great read!

Pamela Kelley is one of my favorite feel-good authors. She has real characters with real problems and I love the way they work through them. This was a perfect summer read.

If you're looking for a book that feels like a warm hug, The Seaside Sisters is the book for you. The book follows three family members as they navigate the loss of their mother and sister. Hannah, a published author who is struggling to write her second book, decides to return to her hometown of Chatham MA and stay with her aunt in hopes her creativity would return. Her sister Sara, a busy mom, decides it's time to put herself first and aims to find herself within her marriage.
This book was such a fun, quick read. I enjoyed every minute with it and can't wait to read more by Pamela Kelley!

4.5/5 stars

I didn't love this one, but didn't hate it. It was good, light reading-would make a good palate cleanser read,

This is a light pool/beach read but felt like a little something was missing meaning story line wise, however, it was a OK read.

Brooklyn-based Hannah is a bestselling author struggling to write her second book after personal losses. Her older sister, Sara, still lives in Chatham, Cape Cod, where they grew up, and is married with four children. Once a dedicated librarian, Sara dreams of reviving her love affair with literature, but instead, she is stuck with too many family responsibilities and a fizzling marriage.
When Hannah gets the chance to retreat to her aunt's oceanfront house in Chatham for the summer, it seems like just the thing to get her creative juices flowing. And she’ll be able to spend more time with Sara, who is eager to find her way back into the workforce, to do something rewarding and book-related. The pair will spend the summer making friends, rekindling romance― especially Spencer, an old acquaintance from high school-turned very hot grump― and opening themselves up to the magic of books and the beach.

I need to start this out with I am not a romance reader. With that said I really enjoyed this book and want to read more from this author. I really connected with Hannah and what was going to happen with her. The beach setting and the books are what initially pulled me in. It was a little predictable as to who the love interest was going to be but I was ok with that.
I was sad when it ended and we had to say goodbye to the characters. This is why I like series and I wish this was one. I wanted to see what happened with everything and everyone.
I will be picking up more from Pamela Kelly in the future.

I honestly thought this was a sweet, breath of fresh air type of story. I loved the family dynamics and relationships being dug into. I appreciated how Spencer and Hannah grew together. And I loved the setting of a sweet beachy town. A dream of mine to visit.
Read this book if you’re looking for something light on your reading tastebuds.

I’m a new Pamela Kelley reader so I’m not sure what her typical writing style is.
Overall, I enjoyed this story. A story of sisters facing different levels of challenges in their lives comes together for the summer to reconnect after their mother’s passing.
This story was very evenly paced and I found myself waiting for the other shoe to drop but it never did. I found the story to be overall predictable.
I enjoyed the characters. Hannah - a writer navigating her way through her new book back home after many years away. Sara - mom of four, married and struggling but unsure how to get where she wants. Maddie - Hannah and Sara’s aunt also struggling in her marriage and the loss of her sister. I liked how the different characters intertwined to create the overall story.

The Seaside Sisters is a perfect book to give you that beach feeling of freedom, salt air, sunrises, long walks in the sand, and fun outings with family and friends. Hannah is a bestselling author of a romance novel and is struggling with her second book. She lives in Brooklyn, but grew up in Chatham in Cape Cod. Her mother recently died and Hannah is devastated and lost without her. Hannah's sister, Sara, still lives in Chatham with her husband and four boys. Sara is excited to find a job now that her youngest will be starting school. She worked at a library and loved the job so she's hoping to find something similar. Sara's husband, Tom, works in finance and doesn't understand her need to work. They don't need the money and he's worried a job will be too much with the kids, the house, cooking meals, etc.
Hannah talks to her aunt and she invites her to stay in her guest room for the summer. Hannah can write from anywhere and is thinking a change in scenery might do her good. She hasn't been home since her mom died and it will be good to see her family. Hannah gets into a nice routine of taking a long walk in the morning, eating breakfast with her aunt, and heading to the coffee shop in town to write. Her aunt's neighbor is a writer and invites Hannah to join her writers group that meet every Monday afternoon. Hannah agrees and really enjoys meeting with other writers and giving them tips on their current books. Hannah gets some good tips on her recent pages, too. Hannah bumps into Spencer at Joy's house after the writer's meeting. Hannah and Spencer went to high school together and he is Joy's grandson. Hannah is immediately attracted to Spencer but he never paid her any attention in high school. He seems very serious even now.
Will Hannah find what she needs in Chatham to complete her second book? Will Sara find a job she likes related to books? Will Sara's marriage survive her taking a job? Will Hannah find a love interest in Chatham? She meets a famous author at the local bookstore while he's there for a signing. They have an instant connection and he invites her out. There's something about Spencer that Hannah can't stop thinking about. This is a perfect summer read or a read that puts you in a summer frame of mind! Both are good things to me! I really enjoyed The Seaside Sisters and rate it 4 stars with a high recommendation. A book that's set in Cape Cod had me from the start! The Seaside Sisters is available now and can be enjoyed while sitting at the beach or while sitting in your den pretending you're at the beach! I'd like to thank NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy of The Seaside Sisters in exchange for a fair review. #TheSeasideSisters

The Seaside Sisters by Pamela M. Kelley fell completely flat for me. The characters were two dimensional, even the main character Sarah who could have been so much more as a struggling author. The romance was unexciting, the only good descriptions were of the food which sounded wonderful. At the end of the book I wondered why I had bothered finishing it because nothing really happened. Thank you to the author publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

"The Seaside Sisters" focuses on Hannah and her sister Sara as they navigate the loss of their mother and general life woes.
Hannah is a writer who is feeling blocked. Sara is a mother of four who is feeling underappreciated and stuck. As Hannah returns to their hometown of Chatham, looking for inspiration, the two sisters reconnect with themselves and each other. Along the way, friends and family support and encourage them as they each discover what it takes to live a fulfilled and happy life.
An enjoyable beach read, this story looks at life, love, work and relationships at various stages of life and in different scenarios.
Thank you to Pamela Kelley, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for an advance review copy. I look forward to reading more by this author.

This is a good book. The main characters are Hannah and Sara, who are sisters. Hannah is a romance writer and has come to the island to stay the summer with her aunt. Sara lives on the island with her husband and boys. Hannah is trying to finish her book. Sara is trying to find a part time job, she dies at the bookstore. This story is about family and love.

I enjoyed the book this Summer. I could picture the quaint places in Chatham on Cape Cod. Loved the characters and the setting. My first book by this author, so I am interested in finding more that she has written.

Great summer read. Perfect for a vacation book or for hanging out on the porch or the beach. Good story and characters.

This was a really enjoyable book. The story starts off the with two sisters who recently lost their mom. Hannah decides to go home to visit her sister bad stay at her aunts place. Hannah is on her journey of writing her novel and figuring out what her next steps are and she may find love as well.

Suffering from writer's block, still mourning the death of her mother, and getting over a breakup, Hannah jumps at the chance to spend the summer at her aunt's oceanfront house in Chatham, on Cape Cod. Her sister, Sara, still lives in Chatham, and the two sisters need to deal with their mother's house.
Sara, married to her college sweetheart and raising four sons, is eager to reenter the workforce, an enthusiasm that isn't shared by her husband who has grown too accustomed to Sara carrying the bulk of childcare and household management. Meanwhile, the two women's aunt, a literary agent, is separated from her husband who is living in their Manhattan apartment while she stays in Chatham.
The change of scenery works and Hannah is soon finishing her second novel, while socializing with a new group of friends and reconnecting with her aunt and sister. But her determination to return to her Brooklyn apartment wavers a bit as she becomes enamored with Spencer, who she knew in high school but never took notice of her.
This novel is excellent escapist reading. The dialogue occasionally seems stilted, and details regarding outfits and food choices are extraneous but enjoyable to those who are obsessed with that type of thing (such as this reader). The only thing better than spending a summer vicariously with Hannah on Cape Cod would be actually going there. #TheSeasideSisters

Great summer read. Perfect for those who would like an engaging read, with great characters and solid story line. Recommend regularly. Regularly requestsd

The Seaside Sisters is one of the best beach reads of this season! With charming, strong characters, mostly women trying to make very difficult decisions, with conflict and romance, the story will keep you on the beach instead of in the water! You will devour this book with great pleasure!
Writer Hannah is having trouble keeping her mind on writing her latest book. She seems to suddenly be suffering from anxiety. A best-selling author, she can't let her readers, or her editor down. Although she lives in Brooklyn, her family lives in Chatham on Cape Cod and since the death of her mother Hannah has not been herself at all. But after talking to her sister Sara, who still lives there, Hannah decides to go to Chatham for the summer, live with her aunt Maddie and see if she can unblock her block.
Sara lives with her husband and her four young boys. She too is going through something herself. She is getting the itch to go back to work in some way. A former librarian, she misses the banter of talking about books. As a stay-at-home mom, her husband who works long hours and sometimes take advantage of her without really thinking, she longs for some time to herself doing something she enjoys. Suddenly, a job drops into her lap. The local bookstore is looking for someone during the day, mother's hours. Sarah gets the job! But it seems her husband is not as excited.
Hannah's aunt Maddie is separated from her husband. He has been staying in New York and she has been working from Chatham. She is an editor. Their relationship sadly has been in trouble for a while since they are both workaholics. They seem to be unable to make time for one another.
As Hannah comes back to Chatham, she still is unable to drive by her mother's house. The sadness of her not being there is too intense. But she tries to start a writing routine and even spends time with her mother's friends and their son Spencer, whom she knew from high school who is now a lawyer.
As each of their burden's grow, they discover the strength they need through their companionship, respect and love for each other. The Seaside Sisters is a lovely testament to the power of friendship, dealing with loss and finding new love in whatever form.
Note to Kelley's fans...some characters from her last novel based on the Cape, The Bookshop by the Bay make adorable cameos, which you will find in little easter eggs. Pamela Kelley never disappoints.
Thank you #NetGalley #St.Martin's/Griffin #TheSeasideSisters #PamelaKelley for the advanced copy.
