The Seaside Sisters by Pamela M. Kelley is a family-centered romance set in a small beach town near Cape Cod. This will make a great beach read this summer!
Hannah Brewster is an author living in Brooklyn, with a recent break-up and her mother's passing, she's having extreme writer's block with a deadline looming. When her Aunt Maddie offers to let her stay at her home on the Cape for the summer, Hannah takes her up on it. Maybe a change of scenery will help, and she'll be able to spend time with Maddie and Sara, her sister.
Sara Ellis is a married mom of four boys, looking to give herself a sense of purpose other than taking care of house and home. An ex-librarian, she gave up her job when the first boy was born and now that the youngest is in school, she needs more. When she gets a part-time job at the local bookstore, her husband Tom doesn't understand her desire to share her love of books with the customers.
This is definitely a feel-good romance centered around family and books. When Hannah keeps getting put into situations with Spencer, a high school crush, at first she isn't happy about it but they soon open up to each other. Will they be able to overcome their differences? The characters are all likeable and well-developed, from the main characters to the barista at the coffee shop. The way the characters build relationships and interact with each other is true to life, nothing is overly dramatic or unbelievable. And what reader doesn't want to read about a writer, librarian/bookstore employee, and a literary agent?
All in all, this was a great, feel-good story about family, friendship, relationships, and books. If you enjoy a happily ever after, close-knit families, and relatable characters, then you will enjoy this novel.
Thank you to @StMartinsPress and @NetGalley for a digital copy for review consideration. All opinions are honest and my own.

This is an easy going beach read that shares a family's grief, several relationship dynamics and struggles with a little romance. It was a little slow at times, but a good book.

What a fun summer beachy read! The storyline about two very disasters reconnecting was so well done. This was an easy fun read and I look forward to more from Pamela Kelley.

Hannah and Sara grew up in Chatham on Cape Cod. As sisters they are close but Hannah moved to Brooklyn and Sara stayed in Chatham. After their mother died, Hannah knew she was struggling and decided to come home to the Cape for the summer.
Hannah is single and is a writer. She is currently working on her second book, but is struggling with writer’s block. The summer season on the Cape is quite busy and Hannah knew it would be a good place for her to move forward. Her sister Sara is married and has four boys, all into sports and other activities. She is ready for a new challenge and wants to work with books part time.
There are some great scenes in the book at the beach and in the vacation town of Chatham. I enjoyed reading about the adventure looking at the whales, seals and even the shark. I enjoyed that the sisters and other friends went out and did fun things. I liked how Hannah learned more about the law in order to grow her characters. I really liked Spencer. I love how Sara knew she needed an identity outside the home and found one. Really all the characters were awesome.
What was troublesome for me were some of the longer explanations that I felt were not needed, such as explaining the Cornhole game and the long and tedious explanations about the food and wine pairing. (Can you tell I am not a foodie?), but I am sure there must be other people who found those scenes interesting.
I did like how the book ended and wrapped up. I enjoyed how the characters had to do self discovery to find their way forward. The Seaside Sisters by Pamela Kelley will appeal to those beach readers.

I always look forward to reading books by Pamela Kelley. They are what I describe as a comfortable read with fun characters, interesting but not heavy storylines and always great settings. This book was no exception I especially enjoyed the age variations of the characters in The Seaside Sisters. Thanks #NetGalley #SaintMartinsPress #PamelaMKelley

Are you looking for a good summer read? The Seaside Sisters by Pamela M. Kelley may be just what you are looking for. This was a cute story about the lives of two sisters and the choices they make the summer after their mother passed away. One sister is a stay-at-home mom and the other is a new, up and coming author. It is set in a seaside town so it gives just the right summer beach vibes to make it a terrific vacation read. (Thank you NetGalley & St. Martin’s Press for letting me preview this book. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to leave a positive review & all opinions are my own.)

I enjoyed the setting and characters in this enjoyable vacation read. Hannah is suffering from writers block after her first successful novel. Hannah decides to leave her Brooklyn apartment for her home in Chatham on Cape Cod, to spend time with her sister, Sara, and her Aunt Maddie. Sara has been taking care of her four sons and household, anxious to get back to work, even though her husband is not cooperating. Aunt Maddie, a literary agent, divides her time between Manhattan and Chatham, and is temporarily separated from her husband. Recommended for a good beach read. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Two sisters have the chance to reconnect in Cape Cod, MA. Hannah is an author working on her second book and has the opportunity to leave her home in Brooklyn to stay with her aunt at the cape. Her older sister, Sara lives there too and she’s been struggling with her marriage and the mom to 4 young kids. She’s lost herself a little and she’s hoping a new part time job will help get some back. Her husband takes her for granted and he really resents her new job when it takes her away from her family at times.
Sara does some research for her new book at a local law firm and rekindles an old friendship with Spencer, a guy she knows from high school. They get closer as the story goes on and I enjoyed their blossoming relationship.
One of the big reasons, I enjoyed this so much was that it referenced a lot of real places in one of my all time favorite towns, Chatham, MA. The @chathamsquire is one of my favorite restaurants and my husband and I had our parents meet for the first time at the @chathambarsinn after we were engaged!
Thank you @stmartinspress and @macmillanaudio for my gifted copy.

This was my first read from author Pamela Kelley, but it left me likely to search out other books from this author. I enjoyed the artistic way she described Chatham on the Cape coast. I also enjoyed following the main character Hannah's summer journey dealing with her mother's death, reconnecting with her sister and aunt, and opening herself to love. This book is a great summer read, perfect for afternoons at the beach or pool. Well done.

Thank you to the Publisher for the chance to read this book. All opinions expressed are voluntary and my own thoughts and views.
This was a beaach read that focused more so on family than romance. The character of Hannah spoke to me with her anxiety with regards to her deadline. Each of the other characters seemed nice, but I didn't feel the story really came together for me.

Huge thank you to

First of all I wish I was sitting in one of those chairs right now on the beach reading! Anyway, this would be a great book to bring to the beach. Two grown sisters and their aunt take the summer to figure out who they truly want to be and this one summer will change all of their lives. I love a book set in the summer and this one is full of summer vibes, growth and love.

THE SEASIDE SISTERS by Pamela Kelley was just the break I needed. What a comfort to drop back to a slower-paced lifestyle and enter the beach life of Cape Cod. I love this author’s writing, and this story is an engaging blend of the life of an author and the struggle to deal with life’s twists and turns. This book focuses on human relationships and our need to help one another.
Two sisters, Hannah and Sara, renew their relationship as they each struggle with difficult stages in their lives. The narrative is authentic, and the reader is drawn into the story, one with a hidden message to pursue our passion and find what truly makes us happy and fulfilled in life.

This is a sweet story of two sisters as they work through their grief of losing their mother. During a summer spent back home in Cape Cod, they reconnect with each other, their Aunt Maddie and find romance.

Charming, lighthearted beach read that follows the stories and relationships of Hannah, her sister, and their aunt.

A fun beach read. This was my first Pamela Kelley book and I loved it. It was an easy, comfort read with a clean romance. Very much recommend.

The Seaside Sisters is a charming little summer beach read with all the Hallmark vibes. Loved the slower pace of life in this quant small town, and the relationship that are built here.
This would be a great book to read on vacation.
Thank you NetGalley and publishers for this arc in return for my honest review.

I was really looking forward to reading Pamela Kelley's The Seaside Sisters after reading last year's summer book The Bookshop by the Bay. I started it right before I left on my vacation and worried that I wouldn't have time to read much during camp.
Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this book as much. I don't think I connected with the characters very much. The story is largely focused on Hannah who I felt might have been in her late 20s maybe early 30s. So maybe it is because I prefer books with an older protagonist. I would have liked to have seen more of Hannah's aunt Maddie as I really liked the sections that featured her. I liked Hannah's sister Sara more than I did Hannah, but I don't think I would have liked having more of her in the book.
I also didn't feel like there was a lot of tension in the book. The conflicts (if they can be called that) in the plot were easily solved and overall, the plot was pretty predictable.
It was a mindless read with an easy-to-follow plot and a small cast. So if you are on vacation with a lot of activity or interruptions then this would be a great book to read. It is easy to pick up and put down without losing the plot.
My review will be published at Girl Who Reads on Wednesday - https://www.girl-who-reads.com/2024/06/spend-summer-on-cape-with-pamela.html

Hannah is suffering a serious case of writer's block. Still mired in grief from the loss of her mother, Hannah recently broke up with her boyfriend of two years. Facing a publishing deadline in a few months, she needs a change of scenery.
Looking for inspiration she returns to her childhood home of Chatham on Cape Cod hoping the quieter surroundings and some time with her sister Sara and her Aunt Maddie will get her creative juices flowing again.
For their own part, both Sara and Maddie are thrilled to have Hannah back home. They are both going through a bit of a rough patch in their marriages and feeling frustrated. A girls' summer shopping, lunches and time with friends and each other may just be what they all need.
Three different women, connected by the bonds of family. And sharing a common goal. They are at a crossroads, searching for meaning in their life they feel like they have lost in living their lives for someone else. They are each other's best support in the journey.
This is an uplifting story of friendship, family and sisterhood. it's the perfect beach read. A quick read that will wrap you up and leave you with a warm feeling in your heart.

Light, breezy, exactly what a summer woman’s book should be. I was surprised at how often I found myself smiling while I was reading. There is nothing heavy duty here, nothing to bog you down, just a very quick, entertaining story with Chatham, Cape Cod as a setting. I read this as a standalone and did not feel as if I was dropped in the middle with no clue.
Thanks to St. Martin’s Griffin and NetGalley for this light and polite beach read.

This is my first Pamela Kelley novel and I immediately ran and bought two more of her books because I loved this so much! This was the perfect summer women's fiction read. It wrapped up the feelings of family, marriage, motherhood, life after loss and all that comes with those things so well and I ate it up. A lot of times when I read a book following multiple people with multiple storylines I tend to get immersed in one while not caring too much about one or the other but I was so invested in all 3 of our main characters stories. If you are looking for a beach read that is easy to follow, that flows perfectly, with great bookish undertones, and a beautiful family storyline please pick this up.
