It is finally warming up and starting to feel like summer so perfect time for a beach read. I really enjoyed this book. Hannah needs a break from the big city and is hoping o cure her writer's block so she decides to spend the summer with her family where she grew up in Chatham Cape Cod. Then throw in some romance, old friends, new friends and Cape Cod food and you have a solid beach read. Thank you NetGalley and Pamela Kelley for this ARC.

This book did not work for me. The writing didn't flow very well, and I didn't really understand what the story was about. It read as more of a daily journal than a novel. There were too many characters introduced that came in and out of the story so fleetingly (and unnecessarily) that I was confused by their appearance. Had I met them before? Why are they part of this story?

That being said, the descriptions of Cape Cod were well done, but that's all I enjoyed. I wouldn't personally recommend this to any of my friends. If you want good summer seaside stories, try Elin Hilderbrand instead.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Release Date: 6/4

Thank you Netgalley for this arc! I really enjoyed this book! Who doesn’t love a beach read?
Hannah loves Brooklyn, but when she gets writers block and her deadline is approaching she decided to head home to Cape Cod to be around her aunt and sister Sara. The only problem is the heartache of her mom’s passing is more real in her hometown.
Hannah quickly finds herself settling into a new normal living by the beach, writing at the local coffee shop and meeting new friends. She especially has enjoyed spending time with Spencer a local lawyer that is heavily connected with the community.
Sara uses to be a Librarian and now that her four boys are in school she is finding herself wanting to work. She ends up working at the local bookstore, but it causes a rife in her marriage. Can her family overcome her work life?

Thank you to NetGalley, St Martins Press and author Pamela Kelley for this ARC to read and review!!

Ohhhhh this one made me feel the ocean spray on my skin and smell the salty air with the flip of every page! It's a light and easy comfort read ... just the perfect little seaside escape! The gorgeous Cape Cod setting with all the fun, beachy activities … not to mention the amazing food descriptions … really transports you to the perfect summer-at-the-beach atmosphere!

I love that the story visits three women in different stages of life, love & relationships: the excitement of discovering new romance, the frustrations of juggling marriage & career while raising young children and the joy of rekindling an old flame back to a flaming fire. The characters were sweet & engaging & I enjoyed watching them all get their happily ever after!

The summer vibes in this one are so charming and heartwarming and will make you dream of your own get-away to the shore! Pop this one into your beach bag and enjoy!

‘The Seaside Sisters’ by Pamela Kelly is a sequel to ‘The Bookshop By The Bay’. Each can be read as a standalone. I didn’t know there was a story prior to this one, but I plan on reading it.

This is a great summer beach read. In my opinion it would appeal to a wide variety of readers. I say this because there are several themes that are universally appealing. The story is about family ties, grief, overcoming life’s challenges and moving on.

One of the things I loved about this story is that the main character is an author who is writing her second book. Her Aunt is also in the publishing industry. What book lover doesn’t want to read about books and authors? The story is full of inter-generational relationships as well as sibling relationships. The secondary characters are delightful and are an eclectic group.

The setting of the story appealed to me very much. It mainly takes place on Cape Cod – Chatham Massachusetts, Brooklyn and Manhattan New York City, New York. All places I am very familiar with. Ms. Kelly writes vividly about Chatham and the seaside of the Cape.

Of course, what is a good beach read without a little romance? Well Ms. Kelley makes sure there is a bit of that too. While this is my first book by Pamela Kelley, I assure you it will not be my last.

I would like to thank Ms. Kelley, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This really is a fun beach read which I know Pamela Kelley is known for and it didn’t disappoint. Two sisters, one who is married, has 4 boys and live in the beach town of Chatham, and the other is single, has had one book which was successful, lives in Brooklyn, but is having trouble with her second novel so decides to go back to Chatham where she grew up and spend the summer there with her aunt and uncle hoping for inspiration. Ms.Kelley is very good at bringing the town and it’s people to life, making this a very enjoyable read.

THOUGHTS:

Looking for a charming novel set in Cape Cod to read this summer? Look no further!

I appreciated seeing the characters from Kelley’s previous novel — The Bookshop by the Bay. This can definitely be read as a stand alone, it doesn’t connect with that other book besides just meeting the bookstore & coffee shop and the characters who run them!

This was fun and easy to read. I liked the coastal setting. I wanted to jump right in and spend the summer there! The plot was pretty predictable and that was fine. I didn’t really love the characters but enjoyed reading their different journeys.

Overall, a sweet romance novel that I think many will enjoy reading this summer! ☀️

Hannah Brewster, 30, has just learned that her first book has hit the New York Times list. She recently lost her mother and she’s stressed because she’s behind on her second book which is a romantic comedy about an attorney.

Hannah currently lives in Brooklyn but had grown up in an area of Cape Cod called Chatham where he sister, Sara, still lives. Sara and Tom have 4 boys under the age of 12 and life is busy for her. Sara had invited Hannah to stay with them but she has decided to stay with her Aunt Maddie for the summer. Maddie has lived in Chatham all of her life and is a top literary agent.

Hannah meets an old school friend, Spencer, who is now an attorney. He is the grandson of Maddie’s neighbors. As Hannah is having some difficult times with her new book, Spencer invites her to shadow him in his office for a week so she can get a feel for what happens in a lawyer’s office. This proves to be helpful for her and she also gets to know Spencer better and meet more people. Hannah soon makes a habit of working on her laptop in a coffee shop near a bookstore where her sister, Sara, has recently gotten a part-time job.

As Hannah meets more people and joins them for dinners and drinks, she finds herself feeling very happy and fulfilled. This also helps to make her creative juices flow toward helping her to finish her book. But, it’s Spencer who catches her eye and they soon enjoy one another’s company. Could there be a future for them?

This is such a delightful, happy, and fun book that I enjoyed so much. The friendships are so genuine and the characters are real. You just know you would like to have them for a friend. It’s informative as well. I learned a lot about the Cape Cod area and would love to visit it someday. Do come and enjoy the friendships and good times in this book. You will feel like a part of the family.

Thanks to St Martin’s Griffin and NetGalley for a review copy in exchange for my honest opinion. This book is now available.
Sisters Hannah and Sara are in very different places in their lives - Hannah is an author finding social media acclaim while living in Brooklyn working on book two, while Sara has four sons and a husband living in their hometown on Cape Cod. After their mother’s passing, Hannah moves to their aunt’s house near Sara for the summer, and the sisters spend time together as adults, getting to spend time working through everyday challenges and relationships. The descriptions of Chatham, along with the food and drink descriptions, made me feel like I was right there in the book.
This is a standalone novel, but it does overlap the Chatham setting and some characters with Bookshop by the Bay, Kelley’s book released last June which I really enjoyed. I liked this one, too, and it made me think about spending more time on the Cape this coming summer. Even though I live very close, I don’t spend much time there!

The Seaside Sisters will delight and charm you as easily as an ocean breeze.

If you need a perfectly feel-good, clean, sweet romance novel, this is it. In between the many thrillers I read, crime and true crime shows I watch, I sometimes need a balance. The Seaside Sisters filled me with a dose of happiness. It’s full of feel-good characters that you love and root for. Pamela M. Kelley provides the right amount of cozy in her latest. I was left with a happy heart when I finished it.

Thank you so much, Pamela M. Kelley, St Martin’s Press & NetGalley, for my copy to give my honest review! All opinions are my own.

While there are some cute couples in this book, it doesn't feel very original but like something you've read before. The main couple spends most of the time not even being a couple, and all of the conflicts in the book seem to resolve too easily. Still, the characters are likable, and there's some really nice family vibes and friendships in the book. There is romance too just not enough of it if you're really in it for that.

I was so happy to get an early copy of The Seaside Sisters by Pamela Kelley. This book tells the story of 3 sisters and brings in a few characters from previous stories of the area. Hannah was my favorite sister but the others were fun, too. Get a copy and take to the beach or pool this summer!

The Seaside Sisters by Pamela M. Kelley is a delightful read following two mothers and their daughters as they embark on a journey filled with nostalgia, new opportunities, and unexpected romance. I was drawn in from the first page and found it hard to put down. This was a perfect addition to my day at the beach. Pack this charming summer read in your beach bag for a delightful escape.

Escape to Cape Cod through the descriptive words of author Pamela M. Kelley. From the backyards picnics to the most expensive country club restaurant experience the summer of a young author who escapes Brooklyn to her aunt’s house where she reconnects with her sister and family. So many characters to like but I found the couple living next to her aunt to be the type of delightful neighbor whether for the food or conversation over a cup of tea. The perfect read for summer. Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC of this book; the review is my honest opinion.

Three women: an author, her sister newly back in the workforce, and their aunt are all in transition after the loss of a relative. Summer together on the Cape might be what they need to get back on track and figure out their futures.

Hannah's on a deadline, and the summer brings back her writing mojo and two potential love interests, but only one could be the one for her, if she can open her heart after a broken relationship.

Sara's family, especially her husband, has a harder time adjusting to her new job. Forcing him to accept she's more than a mom and wants to work will be her biggest challenge.

Maddie, their aunt, is in the midst of a trial separation from her husband. If they can reignite the spark, they might just save their marriage.

This is a lovely story set in a seaside town with a wonderful bookstore. With all three women working in the book industry, they have more than a familial bond, they have a love for books, too. As each woman fights to find their way through their grief and what they need for the future, everything falls into place, and they're able to make decisions and find joy and purpose.

A wonderful summertime read!

One reason I was so excited to read this book is because I've spent every summer in Chatham, Cape Cod since I was born since my aunt lives there so reading about a familiar town was a game changer for me.

This story follows Hannah, a best selling author from Brooklyn who has been hit with a case of writer's block, Sara, a stay-at-home mom wanting to get back into the workforce doing something book related and their aunt Maddie who is separated from her husband and contemplating if that's how she wants to continue living her life.

I enjoyed diving into each person's life and what their daily struggles are and how they are overcoming them. The family dynamic was heartwarming and I loved the connections they had with the townspeople. I loved the light and fluffiness of this book. It makes you want to lay out and read at the beach. The only thing I would say is that I would've loved to dive even deeper into each one of their stories. I almost think that it could've been broken into three different stories that could form a series.

I would love to reread this when I travel to Chatham this summer.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC and for the opportunity to review this story.

This story is a cozy, clean, and realistic beach read. Hannah is struggling with writer's block after the death of her mother and suffering with panic attacks. She decides to take the summer in her hometown in Cape Cod where her sister and aunt still live. Sara used to love her job as a librarian but gave it up for marriage and family. Now that her children are older, she wants to find another job, something to do with her love of books, but her husband is less than supportive. Aunt Maddie has a successful career, but her personal life needs some work. She's separated from her husband and needs to make a choice.
I would call this women's fiction more than romance. Sure there's a little romance involved, but it's mostly about the everyday struggles these women are going through. The writing was good and the description of the area was great, but the pacing of the story was a little slow with no big plot twists or but reveals. Overall just an ok story for me.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have read a few Pamela Kelley books and I always enjoy them. This is a cozy story about family and the struggles we go through. Pamela's writing held my attention through this book. The characters were well written and relatable. This book gives you feel-good summer vibes, a touch of romance, complicated, but realistic relationship situations, and friendships. I can't wait to see what Pamela writes next. I would definitely recommend this book and her other books.

One summer can change everything.

After their mother passes away, Hannah decides to spend the summer at her aunt’s house in Cape Cod to finish writing her novel. Her sister, Sara, is a stay at home mother who takes a part time job working at a bookstore. These sisters will spend the summer reconnecting while making new friends and finding or rekindling love along the way.

Exactly one year ago, I posted my review for Kelley’s previous book, The Bookshop by the Bay so I thought it was perfect to post this review today. I enjoyed The Bookshop by the Bay and thought it was a great beach read. I feel the same way about The Seaside Sisters, and I loved that some of the characters from The Bookshop by the Bay made their way into this story.

These books are set in Chatham, Massachusetts, a town in Cape Cod that I love to visit every summer. Kelley does an amazing job of transporting the reader to Cape Cod and describes the setting beautifully.

I love that the author combines books and the beach and gives us a great summer read that focuses on females finding themselves while adding in some romance. The romance isn’t the main focus but I enjoyed how Hannah and Spencer’s relationship progressed. I really liked Hannah and Sara’s Aunt Maddie and thought she was a fun addition to the story.

If you’re looking for a beach read that is an escape to Cape Cod then this is the book for you!

Thank you St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
