Even if you're not contemplating or in the middle of moving house and home, A HAPPY MOVE by Devra Jacobs and Brit Elders is that thorough, practical, and encouraging guide that inspires change. The book is thorough with detailed, in-depth discussion of all the moving parts that could be lost or forgotten in the magnitude of closing down one house and home for the next one. For me, this guide is the fundamental, grounding, good-humored friend I want with me as I contemplate my house and home -- and where and how I make my next one. Happily recommend to all my friends, to anyone reconsidering where they live and how. I received a copy of this book and these opinions are my own, unbiased thoughts.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC.

A unique and extremely helpful book. I requested it as I just completed a move 2 1/2 hours away, and although I rented a truck and paid movers I wasn't ready. Turned into a disorganized MESS!

This book is SO HELPFUL and I will use it for my next move. One small criticism is that it is a bit family-focused, as it is just ME, I cannot delegate tasks to others, and that part made me feel a bit... Overlooked. I would suggest maybe in version two you could have a section for individual movers, and family movers, well or something - a small change would leave those of us doing it on our own feel more... Valid.ated, I guess.

Otherwise, this book covers every aspect of moving, and HELPS SO MUCH. DO NOT HESITATE, if you are moving, this is ESSENTIAL.

Devra's tips and practical guidelines are invaluable for anyone considering a move or preparing to move soon.
The lists are helpful to keep information organized, and the chapters are easy to read and understand.
I especially liked the authors personal anecdotes about mistakes made and lessons learned. Reading this book felt like having a conversation with a caring friend. I am looking forward to more from these authors.
