When something from your past presents itself in the present this will lead to God leading the main characters to each other. The story shows that sometimes we don't see what is right in front us. The characters are amazing, the story amazing and the author is one you will want to read.

This Amish story seems pretty typical and character driven as we follow a young couple through the ups and downs of attraction and growing love, with complications thrown in, of course. The fictional account is plausible and endearing but the plot moves slowly and seemed to drag in the middle. I was also surprised not much discussion addressed the age difference of the girl being four years older than the guy, which is not typical among Amish or modern society. But I liked that fact that it didn’t hinder their relationship. The characters come across as true to life and act as expected. We witness them struggle and grow. I also like the lessons from the past, such as advice the brothers cherished from their deceased aunt. It’s a good example of appreciating older people and their wisdom. The book offers a touching tale and clean read for youth or adults. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own. #TheQuiltRoomSecret #NetGalley

Jacob Lantz asked Trini Sutter to marry him at five-years-old. Trini, at nine-years-old, said she'd consider the offer when she was older.

Twenty years later, Jacob returns to Illinois to ask Trini to consider being his wife. Trini finds herself falling in love with Jacob, but she has dreams of her own.

Jacob learns that Trini has a secret, and not even her two best friends know it. Trini moves away from her community, which shocks Jacob. Jacob needs to decide if he truly loves Trini.

This is a sweet standalone story, even though it is in a series. It flows well. Trini is strong and independent.

The Quilt Room Secret is a sweet romantic Amish fiction novel. No suspense but the novel holds conflict just the same. I loved the characters and their personalities.

Within the novel, the characters learn life lessons, lessons in love and sacrifice, and they learn much about each other and themselves. They both have plans for themselves but will they include the other?

I loved this friends and maybe more story and highly recommend it. Can’t wait for more to come in the series!

it was amazing

Trini has a secret that she has kept close. Not even her two best friends, Serenity and Abby, know. Things become even more complicated when Jacob and his two brothers come back to town to live in their aunt’s house. Memories are explored from twenty years ago when five year old Jacob proposes to nine year old Trinity. Does Jacob still feel the same way and where is Trini’s head?
Trini is strong willed and very independent for an Amish woman. Nothing is going to change her long thought out plans.
I related somewhat to Trini and her list making, although I’m not as extreme as she. It’s somewhat satisfying to cross things that have been done off a list. This was a sweet Amish story with an underlying message for us all.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour publishing through Celebrate Lit but was not required to write a review.

The Quilt Room Secret by author Lisa Jones Baker is a contemporary Christian Amish novel. This is part of the multi author series, The Heart of the Amish, but may be read as a stand alone. It is a delightful addition to this sweet series.

This is the story of Trinity (Trini) and Jacob. They were childhood friends and have been out of touch for years. When they do connect, it is like time has stopped. The chemistry between them lights up the pages. Unfortunately, they each have obligations and future aspirations that could cause problems.

Trini is such an intricate character. She owns a quilt shop and her own house. Being independent she does not care to live alone. There is a deep secret that she has been harboring but shares with no one.

All of the characters are believable and authentic. It was easy to become engaged with them and their lives. The author’s style of writing is easy to read and comprehend. I loved the Christian and life lessons she built into the tale.

I highly recommend this interesting and entertaining story. It would make a fun book club read because there are many topics to discuss. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. A copy was provided by Celebrate Lit, but these are my honest words.

I love a sweet Amish story now and then, so I was pleased for the opportunity to enjoy The Quilt Room Secret. I enjoyed the banter between Trini and her friends, Abby and Serenity. I enjoyed the wisdom that Jacob's aunt had shared with her nephews and with Trini. The relationship between Trini and Jacob is also sweet.

If you enjoy a sweet Amish story, you'll want to add this to your list of books to read.

“The Quilt Room Secret” is a sugary-sweet story of love and friendship.

I enjoyed Trini’s journey of self-discovery and felt her numerous lists made her unique and interesting. I can’t say her need for control didn’t confuse me at times though. Jacob is such a genuine man, and I loved his strong faith and kind heart. Their childhood history, and now their reborn friendship is what kept me turning pages.

This is a sweet story that flows smoothly and at a leisurely pace. The conflicts are a bit soft, but the dreams of the future and struggles of the heart are pure and understandable. Trini and Jacob’s paths bring them closer together, but they risk losing it all. I enjoyed seeing God’s path develop and become more evident in their lives.

The Quilt Room Secret by Lisa Jones Baker is part of the Heart of the Amish series. This is a series of stand alone stories that is written by different authors. This is a well written, easy to read and imagine story. Jacob and his brothers have inherited their aunt’s home, which is next to Trini’s home. Having been gone for years, he returns to find his feeling for Trini have not changed, yet she secretly has plans to leave the faith and join her brother in Rhode Island.

I enjoyed the character of Trini so much. She is a strong, independent, caring person who owns her own shop and home. She has lists all over her kitchen and depends on them to be well organized. She has strong friendships, yet keeps her deepest thoughts to herself.

This is a fun story to read. I admire the determination and steadfastness of Jacob in his feeling for Trini. I enjoyed the interactions between the brothers and their background story.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

I loved Trini as soon as she was introduced in the story. She is very independent and always has lists everywhere around her. Trini seems to have everything she wants. She has a beautiful home and her own quilt shop. For some reason she has been planning on leaving the Amish world she has known all her life to live English. Her secret is hard to keep as she starts to have feelings for Jacob.

Jacob and his brothers move next door to Trini and old feelings surface for him. He has been in love with Trini since they were little kids. I loved how gentle and compassionate Jacob is. When Trini gets hurt in an unexpected fall, Jacob is there to help her. I really felt bad for Jacob because he wears his heart on his sleeves. Everyone knows how he feels about Trini, but how does she feel?

Keeping secrets always have a way of being revealed. Trini confides in her two best friends that she is leaving the Amish world. They are sad but I liked how they supported their friends’ decision. When Jacob finds out her secret he is shattered. He has to let her go so she can find out if her decision is right for her.

I loved how the author gives depth to the characters and shares their strong faith. I was hoping that Trini would realize her place is right where she is. Will she leave her family and Jacob? Is she doing this to prove she can take care of herself? Be sure and grab a copy of this book to find out what Trini decides.

“What separates the weak from the strong is the determination to keep trying.”

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit.the review is my own opinion.

I enjoyed this story. I liked how the author gave us a glimpse into what an Amish woman might feel as she decides if she wants to remain with the faith. I liked the depth of the characters and how we see that it is a struggle for Trini. I also liked seeing how kind and supportive Jacob is of Trini even when her decisions break his heart. I liked seeing Trini and Jacob figure out what they wanted and go after it. I thought the story was sweet and was well done. I hope to see more books with some of the other characters in them.

I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors.  A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.

Jacob proposed marriage to Trinity when he was five years old, and she was nine. She told him she would think about it. He couldn't forget her and when his Aunt Martha left her home and property to he and his brothers, he was anxious to see her again. A grown man, Jacob knows right away that she is still the one for him. Trinity has a very deep secret. She shares it with her best friends in the quilt room. It will only break Jacob's heart.
I received an arc of this book from Barbour Publishing via NetGalley. It is an interesting and cute story. Aunt Martha, although deceased, is a prominent character for me in the story. Her words of wisdom over her lifetime are often recalled by friends and her nephews. Trinity has a lot on her mind as she makes plans for her future. She is so tired of being the youngest and constantly told what to do by her family. Jacob is so sure of himself until he starts wondering if he is jumping ahead of God's will. There's a message here for a reader who should seek what God wants for your life. It just may not be what you plan.

This was the first book I've read from this author and overall, I enjoyed it. The main couple was significantly more chaste than couples typically are in "clean" fiction, and I appreciated that so much!!! There was also a lot of discussion about God in this book, specifically about His love and how we should love each other - those are always things that are good to hear about and I was happy to see that the author put so much emphasis on them. I did find the plot a little confusing to follow with so many characters. There were 3 love plots in total, one major and two minor, and the chapters were often broken up to switch points of view between the various love interests. I would have preferred things to be either a little simpler (ie just one main love plot), or more detailed. Whenever Abigail and Gabe or Stephen and Serenity were mentioned, it was very brief and seemed out of place. I understand the book was not about them, and that's another reason I think their portions of the story could have been better if they were written separately and elaborated upon. Lastly, I was surprised that we had only two chapters that addressed the "climax" of the book, and one of those chapters is cut short by a sudden tragic event that felt like it really came out of left field. I think something a little more believable could have been used to get that character to return home.

The Quilt Room Secret was my first book I have read from Lisa Jones Baker. It was a good and sweet romance story. The two main Characters Jacob and Trini were friends growing up and Jacob moves back to Illinois and Trini and his relationship grows beyond friends. Trini is struggling with deciding rather to leave the Amish Faith. This is a story about friendship, true love, trying to find your way in life while trusting God, and being their for your family no matter your disagreements. I really liked it. I love Amish books and this is the third book in The Heart Of The Amish Series. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series as they become available. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and Netgalley and was under no obligation to post a review.

The Quilt Room Secret is Lisa Jones Baker's contribution to the multi author series, The Heart of the Amish. It was a great addition to the series. I adored getting to know the main characters, Jacob and Trini. I found their story to be sweet and heartwarming. I wanted to see what decisions they would make for their future. I enjoyed this tale of second chances, find yourself, love and faith.
I give The Quilt Room Secret five stars. I highly recommend it for readers who love to read clean romance, particularly Amish romance. I look forward to continuing The Heart of the Amish series with book four, Mindy Steele's Courting an Amish Bishop.
I received a paperback copy of Lisa Jones Baker's The Quilt Room Secret from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

I really enjoy these light hearted, light romance reads. Trini has been planning with her brother to make a big change in her life. A change that no one else knows about, nor can they find out. But when Jacob returns to Arthur after the death of his aunt, her childhood memories come crashing back as well as a promise she made to a five year old Jacob. But as she sees more and more of Jacob and as he seems to become a daily part of her life after a little mishap in the orchard, she is starting to question her future and what she wants. Swearing her best friends to her biggest secret, Trini lets them know what she is deciding and somehow word gets around town of Trini's plans. Her mother and sisters are now questioning her faith and wants in life, but Trini knows she must do this for herself in order to find herself again. I really enjoyed this story line, as well as the characters. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. This review is of my own opinion and accord.

Sometimes what we think we want isn't what we want at all. Trini learned this lesson in a hard way, but its possible that had she not tried her heart's desire, she might have spent her whole life wishing she had. Jacob knew what he wanted from a very young age and chased that dream on a very narrow path, all the while heading for his ultimate ending. When it appeared that his desired outcome might never be his, he felt lost and without direction. Where does one go when the only path you've ever known turns out to be the wrong way?
Jacob and Trini's love for each other was strong, but Trini still chose to follow her dream. It took living without Jacob's love to see what was really important.
The risk both encountered during this indecisive time was that by the time they learned what God's plan for them might truly be, Would it be too late? That's where their deep faith came into play, always leading them, even when they couldn't feel it. Trini also learned that independence might be an admirable quality in some instances, but is it ever more important than family and those who love you?
This was a story of faith, romantic love and deep friendship. Now I am ready to read the next books in the series. I'm hoping Trini's friends find their path to the Amish husband God has planned for them and that Jacob's brothers do the same.

The Quilt Room Secret by Lisa Jones Baker
This was a delightful book. The book is about Jacob who comes to live on his deceased Aunt’s farm which he and his two brothers inherited. The farm is next door to Trini’s home whom Jacob has loved since he was five years old. Jacob and his brothers are from Lancaster Pennsylvania and spent time with their Aunt fifteen years earlier when their father left his wife, family and the church. Trini who is a few years older became friends with Jacob and kind of took care of him during this difficult time. They both had bonded through their friendship, but for Jacob who was five at the time, it became more and he hasn’t forgotten Trini.
Fifteen years later Trini is an independent Amish woman who owns a quilt shop, a home, makes lists of everything and has no plans to marry. She has other plans. She plans to leave the Amish church and become Englisch, joining her brother and his wife in Rhode Island. That’s what her plan was until Jacob came back and everything changes. Does she leave or does she stay?
I really enjoyed this book and the author did excellent job writing. I just hope that the author writes another book about Trini's two best friends, Serenity and Abby, because they have their eyes on Jacob's brothers and wondering what happens for them. Will there be a continuation of The Quilt Room Secret?
